1. That depends on how you set theme, by default the grid query returns the most recent posts however if you set the “featured” sort order then the post form the Featured category are displayed, so you would have to make sure you have posts assigned to that category.

2. That width space is added by the theme so that you get a better idea on how your post will look in the front-end at it simulates the sidebar, on the right or left or without it that depends on how you set the post sidebar. Unfortunately theme’s gird is fixed and it can’t be set otherwise. Changing its width or extending it would require lost of changes and it’s a difficult task, hard to implement. We haven’t considered adding a full width option for it anytime soon either, unfortunately, but will add this on our requests list so we will take it into consideration for future updates.

If alt is blank then it should get text from title on home page and other posts as well right now its show blank alt for all images if not set.

Hi, Thank’s for that but when I now try to download the theme to my wordpress 4.4 it gives me this error The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Yep that upload worked.One last thing I have made up a comet box app in facebook I was wondering how can I add that at the bottom of the post I’ve tried everything and it will not show with this theme can you advise.. Paul.

We got some reports from our users that after the update to version 4.4 it is a problem regarding the category pagination as it doesn’t work properly. We also investigated this and found that it happens only on category templates where the Big Grid is disabled. So a solution, until the next version of the theme when it will be fixed, is to use the Grid on Category page. We did not got any other reports regarding version 4.4 version of Wordpress.

The latest version of Visual Composer will be included in the next version of the theme, unfortunately I cannot provide you an exact date for this, we will try to release a new version as soon as possible.

We had some similar reports and we also investigate this google plus issue as it seems that it doesn’t consider these og meta data for image. Please make sure you use Yoast Seo plugin and chek the source page and see if the opengraph are added properly as the theme doesn’t control them, that’s why we recommend this plugin.

I haven’t used the wpthemedetector.com detector before not documented on it so I’m not aware of its functionality and I can’t say for sure how you could prevent it to detect your theme so I can’t give you specific info on this and also guarantee it will solve your problem however you can try to use a plugin like hide my wp: https://wordpress.org/plugins/hide-my-site/ – we haven’t tested the theme with it but you can give it a try.

On the other hand you can try to find solutions and guides for this online, and search for treads or guides like: http://hide-my-wp.wpwave.com/ or similar.

Hi,

This error appear when the theme index is directly accessed and it is caused by the theme’s inability to locate the WordPress get_header function. The best and recommended solution for this is to add a redirect rule for it and eventually this will disappear from webmaster also after a while. Thank you for your interest on using our theme!

The Newsmag theme uses VC page builder for customized pages, as the ones you see on theme’s demo: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/ so if you’re using VC features or elements on your pages they should also work with the newsmag theme however any features or elements specific to your current theme will not work with the newsmag theme and you would have to recreate and redesign your custom pages.

So, eventually, I would suggest you to create and use different pages using the newsmag theme so you can benefit of its features and of theme’s block/grid elements.

Hi,

You would have two alternatives for this.

1. You can change it trough custom css for a specific post, using the unique post id class present on all posts, like this: http://screencast.com/t/zmYT26QER

2. You can use the category background color and set it for a specific category then include the posts you need to change the bg color in it, here is an example: http://screencast.com/t/Jl6OH1aS – now all post that have the ‘fashion2’ category assigned and also have it set as primary category under ‘post settings’ – http://screencast.com/t/kiETR6iJuEhB ( this is needed if the post has multiple categories attributed) Result: http://screencast.com/t/W6cKjbxodv

If your don’t have the latest version of the plugin please update to theme’s latest version (2.3.2) and use the latest version of the social counter plugin (3.1) and use the instructions form the guide to set it up.
