Hi,
was playing around with translations for Townpress as I need it completely in German. I found out that the theme does not recognize translation files when they are located in the global languages location for the theme and the lsvrtoolkit plugin. Both have to be located in the language folder for the theme itself. Created a .po file for the lsvrtoolkit plugin, translated it and pushed it back to the location. Is there a way that townpress recognizes files located in the global folder, as I think that the file located in the theme will be overwritten with the next theme update?
Thanks in advance
regards
Hi,
try to open functions.php and remove line 18 to see if .po files will work from global folder then.

Hi, my version of http://demos.volovar.net/townpress.wp/demo/news/ page shows full articles instead of their brief intro. How do i limit this without adding “read more” to each post manually?
Thank you
Hi,
it can be done using Excerpt. Click on Screen Options in top right corner, check Excerpt and add your text in Excerpt at bottom.
Lubos
Hi,
i would like to avoid doing this for each article seperately.
Is there a code i can use to display only post titles on that page?
Like a list of posts with only their titles displayed.
Thank you
Try this Custom CSS:
.article-archive-page .article-content { display: none; }

Hello, is there a psd available for the Town Press theme? Also, am I able to upload to a test web so that I can make changes and updates before uploading to final site? Thank You
Hi,
1.) there is unfortunately no PSD for this theme
2.) you are free to use it on your test server first before going live of course
Lubos
Thank You for your quick response. I purchased the theme and am currently setting it up. How would I change the wording from “LOCALE INFO” to text of my choice?
I would also like for consumers to be able to register for the events is this possible or if not is there a plugin you can recommend that is compatible? Thank You
You can change the title of any widget under Appearance / Widgets.
There is no events registration and I can’t recommend any specific plugin for it. You can browse through the official plugin repository and maybe find something usable.
Hi I am interested in townpress for a big project in my community that i am going offer freely to my small island community of 4000 people. Can this be used as a modern full screen template like a lot of wp sites these days.
Hi,
sorry, but I do not quite understand your question. It can be used in exactly the same way as it is presented on demo site. Or are you asking if the content can be stretched to full browser width? If so, then it is possible with small Custom CSS code. But this theme wasn’t optimized for something like that, so it may not look 100% good.

Hi,
Are there any ways to list Author in articles and author, category and tags for events, notices, galleries and documents?
All the time when I update the theme I have to change manually in each file to show this data!
Hi,
currently that’s not possible, but I try to add those features in the next update.
Lubos
Please do it, I think many people will appreciate, actually something from WP’s core is missing, important info
And also a special section called reviews/recommendations or some short codes for reviews will be welcomed
I will definitely add option to display author for standard posts and categories for other post types, I agree it should be there, but tags are currently not supported by other posts types (events, documents etc) and I do not plan to add support for it.
Also, no plans for adding support for reviews of any sort, sorry.
Hi!
I am on version 1.2.5 of this template and WP 4.4.1, I upgraded all plugins, but I still can't put a LSVR Image Widget on my pages. When I go to widgets.php I can see and add a LSVR Image Widget. Then I go and try to use the "Upload Image" button, I can select my image from the library, but when I click "select" in the library, the widget doesn't take the image and stay unchanged.
I did a little debugging and found out where the problem lies :
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘url’ of undefined—> lsvr-toolkit.js?ver=4.4.1:39
When we look at the code :
$holder.html( ‘’ );
It seems that “attachment.sizes.thumbnail.url” is not defined. Could you please tell me if something in my setup is wrong or is it simply a bug?
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
I’ve just tested it and LSVR Image widget works for me without issues. When you click on Upload Image, try to upload brand new image to see if it makes any difference. Also, does image uploading/selecting work for you in, for example, Image element in Visual Composer?
Lubos
Hi Lubos,
In every other part of the dashboard (Visual Composer Image, Header logo and background, articles, events, etc) images load perfectly and I can select them without problem. Until now only the LSVR Image Widget has this problem where no matter which image I upload or select, it stays with the “Upload Image” button and gives me the “Cannot read property ‘url’ of undefined—> lsvr-toolkit.js?ver=4.4.1:39” error.
This is in “Appearance->Widgets” menu.
With debugging I can see the attachment object, but under sizes I only have the full property, and not thumbnail property. The script try to get :
attachment.sizes.thumbnail.url
but only :
attachment.sizes.full.url
is defined
Thanks!
That’s weird. Can you tell me your Thumbnail size values under Settings / Media? Also, can you make the test with uploading brand new image via LSVR Image widget again, but make sure it is a really big image, like at least 1024×1024px?
Or you can send me your wp-admin credentials via PM and I will take a look myself.
My Thumbnail size values are 150×150 px, and uploading a big image didn’t work either. It’s weird yes, since it seems to work for you and it work everywhere else in the site… I’ll take some time tomorrow to try and give you access to the site since it’s behind a couple firewalls! I’ll let you know via PM when the doors are open!
In the meantime let me know if you think about something!
Thanks!
You can try to edit wp-content/plugins/lsvr-toolkit-townpress/library/js/lsvr-toolkit.js file, go to line 39 and change “attachment.sizes.thumbnail.url” to “attachment.sizes.full.url”. Or you can just remove whole line. The function of this line is only to show the selected image in this widget in wp-admin. It should still be saved and displayed on front-end even without this line.
To this town theme can add a town directory listing, if yes, how add to this theme… Taxis, Hotels/Apts, Taverns,...Supermarkets,... etc? Also town events are added – is implemented ready made – from back end…?
Hi,
you will need a 3rd party widget for directory listing.
Events are added in the backend.
Lubos
can you suggest a such directory listing widget?
I can’t suggest anything specific, but there are plenty of them in official plugin repository.
Hello there,
Do you have any plans to use the wordpress plugin called “The Events Calendar” anytime in the future for events? This would give us many more options for events for our site and I think it would help many others as well.
Love the theme!!
Thanks
Hi,
if you are asking about potential connection between default events and events created in this Event Calendar plugin, then unfortunately I don’t have plans for that. But you can use this plugin on its own.
Lubos
Hi! Is there any way of displaying slider in the left or right sidebar? Thank you!
Hi,
unfortunately, that’s not possible.

One of the Visual Composer elements is not working: PIE CHARTS and my demographics data no longer displays them:
http://duncanville.jorgeruiz.net/departments/economic-development/demographics/population-by-race-ethnicity/I also see that your pie charts are displaying correctly either on your live preview page:
http://themeforest.net/item/townpress-municipality-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/11490395Please advise asap, thanks.
Jorge
I meant to type ”...your pie charts are NOT displaying correctly either on your theme’s live preview page…”
Hi,
there is no pie chart on my demo site at all, so I don’t know what you mean by “our pie charts are NOT displaying correctly either on your theme’s live preview page”. Anyway, I assume you are talking about default Visual Composer element, if so then please read this.
Lubos
Pie Charts were supported in the earlier version of TownPress and they are no longer supported in the latest version? May I ask what the reason for that was and will you have support for it in future versions?
I was in the middle of developing a site with lots of statistics using pie charts and line charts, that was one of the more attractive features of the theme for me and my client.
Thanks
You are talking about one of default Visual Composer elements, if this element was enabled by default in the past, it was only by mistake. But there is a way how to enable it, just read this please.
Yes I’ve done it thanks.
Where did the pie charts go? The wonderful demographics graphics quit displaying in my site and I don’t see them in your live preview site either? Please advise.

Hi,
please keep conversation about a single issue in one thread in the future. Thanks.
Lubos
My mistake…will be more careful in the future.
Ok, thanks. One feature request, it would be nice to have the Category filter on the Events widget, like you do for the Documents. For example you could show only the upcoming town council meetings (events in a Town Council Meeting Category) on the Town Council page.
Hi,
I have currently no plans for that, but thanks for suggestion, maybe in the future.
Lubos
Is there a way to set the Document widget limit to more than 10 or unlimited? Also the Category name does not stay selected after saving the widget. It defaults back to “None (list all)”. It does save the one you selected but if you then change something else it does not remember the Category because the drop-down defaults back to “None (list all).”
Hi,
there is currently no way to set more than 10 items, but I will consider adding unlimited option in the next update. I will take a look at this categories bug as well.
Lubos
Is there a way to add back the default Visual Composer “Widgetized Sidebar” element?
Perfect, thanks!
Can you update visual composer please? Thanks!
Hi,
sure, will do so this week.
Lubos
Hello,
The mobile menu does not show up on mobile. How can i make it appear on mobile, as in the demo? Thank you!
On small resolution is does not show up. On a higher resolution it does show up. http://i.imgur.com/bIgZNrj.png tell me an solution
Hi,
share your URL please.

Hi there. I just purchased the theme… I was wondering if you had plans to support add a video gallery? Or is there a way to do this in the theme already and I just don’t see it? Please advise. Thanks!
Hi,
there is currently no support for video gallery and I have no plans for it in the nearest future, but never say never. It is definitely a good idea.

Hi,
Is there any functionality for recurring events? Or is there a straight forward fix to include recurring events within the existing events?
Thanks
Hi,
there is none, each event have to be added manually. If you need more advanced events management, you will have to look after some 3rd party plugin for that.
Lubos
It appears that the FEATURE visual composer element is not adding paragraph tags around the content. Yes I have the check box marked in the editor. I installed all your demo content, themeoptions, and widgets and am trying to change the Town Hall page feature boxes.
Hi,
that’s a bug, I will fix it in the next update. If you need it ASAP, you can open wp-content/plugins/lsvr-toolkit-townpress/shortcodes/feature.php file, go to line 54 and change this:
'wpautop' => '',
to this:
'wpautop' => 'yes',
Lubos
The bug also appears in the Team Member element, not sure about any of the other ones I just started working with your theme.
Right, this appears to be the same issue. You can fix it by yourself by doing the same code change as described above, but this time in wp-content/plugins/lsvr-toolkit-townpress/shortcodes/team-member.php on line 65. I will be releasing an update for this in next few days. Sorry for any inconvenience!
