Great theme – thanks! I’ve installed, but the icons are not displaying. How should I check this is correctly installed? All icons look to be just rectangles when I imported the demo content.

Figured it out – Removing www loses the link for all the icons. Is this easily fixed? It works with www but not without it. Thanks

currently that’s not possible. I have plans to add Events element into Visual Composer which will allow to list events from certain category on any standard page, but I don’t have ETA on that. Maybe in the next update, but no promises.

Did you read the article I’ve sent you in my previous reply? If so, then which step is causing you issues? Let’s do a quick summary:
1.) you can assign widgets to sidebars under Appearance / Widgets
2.) if you want to have an unique sidebar for a specific page (with an unique set of widgets), you can create a new sidebar under Theme Options / Sidebar settings
3.) Now, if you success fully populated sidebar with widgets of your choice, it is time to assign that sidebar to a page. So edit the page, if you want to do it for your home page then edit the page labeled as “front page”, scroll down to Page Settings, click on Sidebars and choose your left and right sidebars.

it can be found in article.php on lines 52 and 207 but it is NOT recommended to change anything directly in PHP files. You can translate any string via .po/.mo files

it looks like it is caused by some 3rd party plugin you are using, try to disable all of them (except those required by the theme) and then test it.

How do I display login and register form on the bottom of my forum for new and non logged in users

I think i may have a small issue here. I purchased this template in december and made the site live this past week. One of the things I noticed was high bandwidth issues. I have been working and reducing image file sizes.
But one of the things I noticed was the Visual composer CSS file js_composer.min.css being loaded on every page. Its 709KB per page load on the 1st load.
I looked into it a bit and from the little i found, I sort of got the impression this should only be loading if logged in.
In the sources its loaded as the following on each page: <link rel=’stylesheet’ id=’js_composer_front-css’ href=’http://www.ourdomain.com/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/assets/css/js_composer.min.css?ver=4.9.2' type=’text/css’ media=’all’ />.
I have not implemented the v1.2.6 yet, but i thought you may have some suggestions or directions before i spend any more time on it.

this CSS file is part of Visual Composer which is a 3rd party plugin so there is not much we can do about it. It is the most popular page builder plugin for WordPress and that’s why I’ve decided to bundle it with the theme (same as many other theme authors).
You can contact its author for more info how to solve this, but that will unfortunately require you to buy separate Visual Composer license on CodeCanyon.

Ill look into it more, it doesn’t load the CSS on your demo. Maybe try an older version of the template or VC plugin later to night and see if anything changes.
Its really hard to swallow a 700kb file loading everytime the page is loaded.
It is loaded on my demo as well, but it doesn’t have 700kB, but only about 50kB. That’s because I am using older version of Visual Composer there. On my local development installation where I am using latest version it has indeed 700kB. Honestly, I haven’t noticed this increase before you pointed it out and it’s weird I agree. But I am not aware of anything we can do about it unfortunately. This CSS is required If you are using Visual Composer on your site, your content layout will be broken without it.
I did take notice after the post that the CSS file in the demo is 430ish KB but only loads like 42KB. Main problem I have right now is our host and the limit of bandwidth we have with this snow storm and traffic is high. We can rectify the hosting problem later. I did by best to keep the images as small as possible while creating the site so I was a little shocked when the bandwidth usage was as high as it was. Seeing a 700kb file being loaded kinda sticks out at you when the whole page load is only about 1.1MB.
For the time being i disabled the CSS generation in the composer plugin class-vc-base.php and just copied the column CSS information at the top of the js_composer.min.css file into my child theme CSS. Maybe i am not using as much of the VC as i think i am, but copying the column CSS over has me up and running.
Not a long term fix, but everything but one little thing looks fine and I am working to track that down. I have noted my changes for when updates occur to redo as needed. Hopefully VC can take care of this in a future update.
The thing is that if you are not using default VC elements (which are disabled by default) you need only grid system and few utility classes from that CSS, so matter of few kB. But filtering it from that file and removing the rest without breaking anything won’t be easy at all. Hopefully they will fix this, it’s way too big, I completely agree.

Before I do that, can you please answer a quick question: Can the header be customized in a way that we can have the top navigation (from left to right) and a header image (a slider) in that order? That is, from the top we’ll first have the logo and top menu, below it will be a full width slider image? Is that possible? Please let me know. Thank you!

you can have menu in header like this, but you can’t put slider in there. However you can have a slideshow in the header like on the alternative home (wait for 8 seconds), but that’s obviously not the same as having slider there because of lack of controls.

I am looking at a conventional type header with menu on the top and full width slider below it, followed by the remaining sections. I understand, unfortunately that’s not possible and there are no plans for such layout in the future. I mean, one of the main goals with this theme for me was to not to have such conventional layout seen in many, many other themes.

Try this tips:
- make sure to fill Openweathermap.org API Key field in Theme Options / Locale
- try to set Weather Data Update Interval under Theme Options / Locale to 0, and start refreshing your front-end until you see correct weather, if this will work then set Weather Data Update to your previous value
- try to set address in Theme Options / Locale to “new york, us” to see if that will work

you can always check the full changelog to see which files were changed and overwrite only those, but you are on your own when you do so. I won’t be able to help you with any issues created by your own code change. I HIGHLY recommend to overwrite the parent theme with latest update and do all your modifications again via child theme.

Question about the articles element (TownPress News) on the homepage. Since a few days it stopped showing recent articles in the right date order, instead it shows old articles from 2001. Any ideas what might have cause this issue?

Hi, I’m testing out your townpress theme. I have discovered problem in shortcode generator – Gallery CPT. List of galleries is only 6 position, but galleries created 8. I can’t add shortcode gallery cpt to post, because i didnt see new galleries above 6 number list. Do you have any idea how disolve the problem?

I’ve created gallery in ‘galleries’. I go to add new post > in the panel above textbox i click on ’ add shortcode’ > from list choose Gallery CPT > next below i want to choose gallery, but on the list is visible only six numbers of galleries. New gallery is not available to choose it.
