Regarding the frontend editor, please note that the Frontend view for Visual Composer has been intentionally disabled since some of the added custom shortcodes are very powerful and complex, and require page reload because of script calculations, and due to this do not appear on the page while building with the Frontend view. The Frontend view can be used of course, however while building your page some elements might not display properly until you refresh the page.

Yes, there is a way. You can use Content Bottom widget area on each of your portfolio items, and inside it you can display custom widget area, in which you can put the shortcode for a small portfolio list of several related projects you choose.

Glad you like our theme. As for this, there’s no direct option in the admin, but it can be achieved with hiding this large background image, and you can insert the smaller photo at the top of your post, to be written right under the title.
