I purchased TownPress and I’m using version 1.2.8. I’ve installed Jetpack v 3.9.1 and now when I try to attach a media file I cannot view the libary, it just spins and never loads. For instance I’m trying to create a new gallery but I cannot view any of my photos to select. If I deactivate Jetpack it starts working again.
Well I just deactivated Jetpack again so I can continue to design and I still cannot view the media library. So now I don’t think it has to do with Jetpack. It must be a WP issue. Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like the issue is not regarding the Galleries only. I can add media to a page with no issues. I can also add to Documents with no issues so I’m guessing it’s solely an issue with Galleries. Thanks for helping…

sure, first you need to obtain the code from Google Maps. To do so, open the street view, click on three dots icon in top left corner, then click on “Share or embed Image” and then on “Embed Image” tab in the popup. Here you can copy the code which starts like this:.
<iframe src="https://www.google.com/maps/ ...
Now go to your wp-admin, open the page where you want to insert the street view and add standard Text element in Visual Composer. In its editor, switch to Text mode, paste the iframe code and save your page.

Hello I want to make some changes, which are not predefined in theme options.
1.Want to remove in articles a main icon(html ) and leave shadow icon 2. Complety remove left menu and put it on header. 3.Increase the size of header picture so that can be part of backgorund. 4. Is it posible to put in same row like two content box in which are articles, but not with same dates like are by default, i want to in etc. left box be 3day history articles in right 3 days before articles history.

2.) Disable side menu under Theme Options / Sidebar Settings with Side Menu Position option and enable header menu under Theme Options / Header Settings with Header Menu option
3.) Sorry but I don’t really understand that one. Try this Custom CSS if it will do what you need:
.header-image { height: 600px; }
4.) Again, your description is not clear, but yo can create two column layout via Visual Composer, put separate Articles element into each column and set them to display latest posts from different categories.

Okay get it all but what i mean by number 4 is: I put 2 column with articles to show latest posts, but it showing the same latetest post (in left & right), what i wont it is in left box showhing latest post no.1.,2.,3. in right no.4.,5.,6.

the easiest solution will be to not to use this widget until you create at least one event:)
But you can translate it via .po / .mo files. This string, same as all other widget-related ones, is part of LSVR Toolkit plugin.
Here is article about translating WP themes, translating plugins is basically the same, except plugin’s .po file can be found in that plugin’s folder.

Hello, we are trying to pull municipal data from a city’s open data feed and display it on the site. But we want this data to be displayed in a sidebar rather than in the center section. There doesnt seem to be a widget which will allow us to run a script to do this. Do you have any idea how we might be able to do this, will we need to create a widget from scratch?

you can use LSVR Custom Code widget where you can place any JavaScript code.
If you need something different then creating a custom widget is the only way to go I am afraid.

How do i get the slideshow background images to more viewable lets say (50/60 percent) the image when slide show is scrolling. At the moment it only shows the top of the image at approx 25 percent and the bottom fades with a white bottom washout. Is their a standard size required for the background image. or is there a setting to control this.

Theme update fails. Error message:Unpacking the package… Installing the theme… The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme install failed.
I downloaded the zip file with the option “All files” and attempted install per instructions. Same error.
Then you can try to download “Installable WordPress file only” and upload that one.
Downloaded installable Wordpess installation file only. Still failed. Unpacking the package…

Destination folder already exists. /home/22/13/2921322/web/wp-content/themes/townpress/
Theme install failed.
It means that there already is theme folder on your server. Probably one of the previous attempts created the folder but for some reason haven’t finished installing the rest of the theme. If you don’t see the theme under Appearance / Themes then you will have to remove that folder via FTP.
If this is the first time you are installing the WordPress theme, please read this detailed article.
Can I just pay you to handle this? I’m a relative WP novice. We have a bunch of content in our site and we don’t want to lose it in the upgrade process.

But if you just unzip the townpress.zip file and upload townpress folder into wp-content/themes folder via FTP then it just have to work. That’s the most bullet-proof solution how to install WP theme when everything else fails.

I have a question regarding Townpress Municipality Theme. I have already designed my site which is in Slovenian language. The problem is that at some places some English words remain and I don’t know how to change them in Slovenian language (which I have defined on the dashboard). These word are: - home (link under the main title) - search this site - map - local time - today - read now - show past events. Can you please help me resolve this?
I also have one other question. I used png for logo (as I don’t want white background to show) and sometimes the page shows logo without the background and sometimes not (the background just shows itself without any definite reason – I don’t make any changes at the dashboard). What can I do to fix logo without the background?

2.) well, I doubt this has anything to do with the theme. Image is image, theme won’t affect its transparency. Maybe the issue is in the browser. But feel free to share your URL

Great Theme. But I have a little problem. When i vill show all events and calls the page directly from a menu nothing is shown in the list. If I call via sidebar (and the widgets “event list) it is ok.
The page News does it right. The only difference between those pages is in the field Visuel Composer: In News there are only symbol, but in Events there are also the big message: “You have a blank page start adding… ” and so on. Can you help mee.

Hard to help you if I can’t see it live. If I understand correctly, if you access Events list page directly via some URL, you don’t see any Events, but they are shown in Events widget, right? That means you are using wrong URL. The default URL is yoursite/events

Yeah, the latest version of theme introduced Events element which can be used on any page.
To update VC, deactivate and remove your current version of VC first. Then you will be prompted to install it again, which will installs the newest version.
.po file can be found in “languages” folder in theme root.

Ok. Open the page where you want to add it and add a Definition List element via Visual Composer (elements can be added via “plus” icon above vontent area). After you insert that element, you can click on “plus” icon inside that element to add rows.

Hi, I have a question about localization : I translated some parts, but the translation doesn’t show in the panel. I mean I’ve tried to translate specific part through PoEdit software, as well as with LocoTranslate plugin, but I still see the english version.

1.) You can try to copy this “load_theme_textdomain” line into functions.php to see if will work, but I plan to add this fix in the next theme update.
2.) Those are regular strings which should be translated via .po / .mo file, just make sure to translate both theme and LSVR Toolkit plugin as many strings are there.
