In this case your changes will be safe if you update the main theme. Please, let me know if you need any help with this.
Hi there! I am trying to customize my homepage so that the grid of posts is aligned instead of staggered. I was able to do this by tweaking the length of my titles and excerpt text manually. However, I just checked the site on a larger screen, and this messes with things. I’m going to send you a private note with screenshots so you can see what I mean. This may be too specific of a request, but is there any way to create spacing between rows so that the text does not need to be the exact same length to create aligned rows?
Hi! It is not possible currently, because this theme uses Masonry. To make posts aligned Isoptope JavaScript should be used instead. I may add this as an option in the next theme release within two weeks.

OK, that makes sense! It would be great if there could be an option to disable Masonry and use Isotope. You’d be a life saver if this could happen in the next theme release. We are launching our site to the public on April 5 and the site would look so much better this way!

If you use a child theme, you should replace /js/settings.js file in it.

In regard to the category titles it seems to be an issue with a child theme styles or a cache. Please remind me your website URL so I can test this.
To enable byline for mobile devices you may remove hide-for-small for the line #30 in /inc/post-header.php file http://take.ms/mjuGp

Hello, Great Looking Theme! My question is there a way to customize the color of categories, and can that color reflect on the front page such as the front slider?

Just categories color on the slider would be better, but throughout the site to echo the same colors, such as video on the front page would echo the same that was set in the slider

In regard to the video, if you mean the Video widget title for this section http://take.ms/qrqYm, you may display posts not only from categories, but also based on post formats, IDs, tags, etc., so it is just a standard widget title. But I may provide a custom CSS to change the title color for some widgets after your site will be configured. It is possible to change the widget style based on it’s CSS id.

hello, how can I make the maxi theme be rtl language?

Probably you’ve downloaded Easy Foundation Shortcode plugin from the WordPress repository instead of installing the version included with the theme. In this case you should disable plugin styles and JavaScript in EFS Settings section.
Please, let me know if the issue still remains.
I’ve tested this issue on a fresh WordPress installation and can confirm that RTL styles are in conflict with duplicated Foundation styles loaded by Easy Foundation Shortcodes plugin. You should set the plugin settings like on the screenshot https://monosnap.com/file/21dLk457kEMKJWMfeh6kjz6DGEWeUf or remove this plugin and install the version provided with the theme. You can find it in the list of recommended plugins in Appearance > Install plugins section.

If you downloaded Easy Foundation Shortcodes plugin from WordPress Repository, you should disable the plugin styles and JavaScript in EFS settings http://take.ms/9Yf9f, because the theme loads its own JavaScript and styles based on Foundation. Also you may install a slightly modified Easy Foundation Shortcodes plugin included with the theme (you may find it in the list of recommended plugins in Appearance > Install Plugins section).

Your website is unavailable currently. The probable reason is that some scripts were not loaded properly because of the hosting slow down. I’ll take a look a few hours later.
I was able to test your website, it seems to be a JavaScript issue. Please, try to disable all plugins temporary and see if the issue remains. If it is fixed, try to enable all plugins one by one, and see which plugin causes the issue. Most probably it is a plugin installed recently.

I see it now, it happens on large screen resolutions, I’ll fix this issue in the next theme update within a few days. And I’ll add the fix for a tag cloud.

Hi! Do you mean the slider on homepage? Have you enabled it in Appearance > Customize > Layouts section? You should select at least 5 posts for it and set featured images for each post in the slider. Or probably the slider is not displayed correctly?

Hi! You should delete the current ACF Pro version. Then you may install the newer version using the list of recommended plugins in Appearance > Install plugins section, or you may upload the plugin archive manually like any other plugin in Plugins > Add new > Upload section. You may find advanced-custom-fields-pro.zip file in /maxi/vendor/plugins folder.
Is there any way to select the text that is displayed in the homepage excerpts? I’d like to be able to write a 1-2 sentence description to display (such as a meta description), instead of the first X characters. As it is, it is pulling in my main image caption and looks strange. Not sure if this possible!

Thank you! I installed the updated theme and made that selection, however excerpts are still appearing in single posts.
Do you use Envato Update Toolkit? In this case the theme is not updated properly, because of the version number mistake in the style.css file. If you installed the theme manually, please, let me know, I will try to figure out the reason for this issue.
I just realized that Envato Toolkit is not the reason, if you can see the new option in Customizer. Please, try to uznip and upload this file http://themeous.com/wp-content/uploads/post-header.zip into /maxi/inc/ folder (you should replace the old file).
I replaced this file in the main theme and it did not work. I’m using a child theme. So, I then replaced the file in the child theme, and it undid the category/ by Author/date that was customized to appear under the title. But it did successfully remove the excerpt text.

Hi, is it possible to increase how many characters the news ticker can display? Is its also possible to have a different thumbnail image for a story than the featured image?
If you use a standard post format you can insert any image at the top of the post and use any another image as featured. In regard to the NewsTicker, you may open loop-newsticker.php file and replace 50 with the desired number of characters, please see the screenshot http://take.ms/wLI2P It is better to copy the modified file in a child theme to keep all changes safe if you will update the parent theme in future.
