hi presale question – is it possible Instead of a shopping cart – I’d like customers to have an option of purchasing credits which they can redeem within a certain time period so the photos are purchased using credits and also for them to have an option for a monthly fee rather than credits. The monthly fee would be the cheaper option depending on how many months they sign up for. and the monthly fee would be for a certain number of downloads rather than using credits.

Stocky doesn’t handle any of the sales on it’s own. Stocky styles and organizes the output of the Easy Digital Downloads (EDD) plugin. EDD is free to all users who want to set up an online store. You can extend the functionality of EDD with many extensions. For example, on our demo site, we’re using Frontend Submissions to turn our site into a marketplace where vendors can sign up and sell their own goods.
All of this being said, I think your question relates more to the EDD plugin/platform, rather than the theme itself.
I believe you’re asking about commissions. EDD does have an extension that allows you to manage commissions on your site. EDD Commissions.

Well, Stocky can be used as a stand-alone e-commerce site with the free version of Easy Digital Downloads.
However, as I mentioned before, with the many available EDD extensions, you can build out an online marketplace with vendors, allowing users to sell their own products on your website.
Stocky + EDD allows you to create a website where you can sell your digital goods easily.

Yes, that is correct. With the free version of EDD you can manage your store as the single seller.
With the Frontend Submissions extension, you open up the option to add users as vendors.
We also recommend checking out the Marketplace Bundle if you are interested in creating a marketplace with vendors.

Stocky is built to work with EDD specifically. If you wanted to use another e-commerce platform, you would need to modify the theme a bit.

Not a problem. It sounds like you would be just fine using Easy Digital Downloads on it’s own. No, we don’t style the EDD emails that are sent to customers. It is possible though. On the demo homepage where you can see thumbnails of some images:- 1) Is it possible to display a “add to cart” button directly instead of viewing the details page (assuming I only have 1 size for all images for sale on my site)? 2) Is it possible to view details of an image on the same homepage (i.e. lightbox) instead of going to a new page (individual details page)?

Hi, I have an additional question here (might benefit others too). If there was an update from EDD, can I safely update it immediately? Or should I wait for an update from your theme first?
In the event that the EDD team makes major adjustments to the plugin or extensions, we’ll be notified ahead of time (we work closely with their team) and make the necessary adjustments to the theme. If anything were to break, we prioritize major bug fixes over all other regular theme updates. Hope that helps!

For the menu question, we suggest using the Nav Menu Roles plugin. That’s what we’re using on the demo. It allows you to assign visibility permissions based on the user’s role. Let me know if that helps.

You are welcome to give it a try. However, I want to make sure you’re aware of the Simple Shipping extension for EDD. It might suit your needs for selling physical products alongside digital ones.

I should follow up and clarify here. If you do try to use WC with the theme, the homepage will not display the latest downloads, and the single download page template will not work. Those are all built to work with the Easy Digital Downloads template files.
??Hi, I bought your theme (looks great) and am trying to understand how it works, I’ve got a couple of questions. But my purchase code is rejected in the support page at https://designcrumbs.ticksy.com/submit/. My questions are these:
1. I downloaded the Demo into the theme to see what is what but the media wont download. It says it is unable to. Any ideas why? 2. The Vendor dashboard etc is part of the Frontend Submission I guess? 3. The ‘wishlist’ shows [edd_wish_lists]?. Did I miss a plugin or is something wrong? Or is that also part of the Frontend Submissions? 4. Is there a way to show a “buy button” directly on the thumbnail? 5. Your Demo “home” page shows a header with search bar, then categories and than a grid with thumbnails. In my “home” the header with search bar is missing. In other words, I don’t get your homepage. And I don’t get where my homepage is…
Hello there. Yeah, it looks like the Envato API is down right now so your verification will have some issues. I’ll address your questions here:
1) Can you check the posts, pages, and media library? Is it just the media? This could be for a number of reasons. But, I’d like to make sure you understand that the demo content is not required for the theme to work properly. You can still use Stocky without the demo content.
2) Yes, it is. You will need to install FES to setup your site like a vendor marketplace.
3) You will need to install the EDD Wish Lists extension in order for Wish Lists to work. Please note, EDD offers the Marketplace Bundle which includes FES and Wish Lists, along with several extensions to help make your site into a marketplace.
4) No, that is not part of the theme at this time. This is something we have on our list of possible future enhancements.
5) Yes, if you take a look at the included help file, it will walk you through the setup of the theme. You will also need to install the Options Framework plugin, to gain access to the Theme Options panel under Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can configure many settings on your homepage. Also, make sure you assign a menu under Appearance > Menus.

Thanks for the quick response, super. Two questions remaining; 4) sorry to here that, i really need that for what I’m trying to build. Is there any plugin you know of that would let me do this, or could you point me to what template I would have to add code? And for 5), I installed the Options Framework and followed the included help file. What I mean is, somehow when you go to the URL http://pietervanderpot.nl it doesn’t show the “home” page. It shows /#. I have no idea what page it is showing. When I visit 1 of the other pages, like “home” the black bar above the site says “edit page”, but not when I go to http://pietervanderpot.nl. 4) You would have to edit the shortcode-content-image.php file that is found in the edd_templates folder of the theme. You would also have to edit the CSS for that area to accommodate for the additional button.
5) Do you have your homepage setup under Settings > Reading? http://cl.ly/102k1D2t0s30
Also, the forum should be working again. If you try to verify your purchase code again, you should be able to post there moving forward.

So, how would an individual upload their video directly from their computer if it was a .mov or .mp4 file, as the embed link examples you sent seem to suggest that they’d need to upload videos to a service and then use the embed code to copy and paste?

Hi there,
The final downloadable file can be in whatever format you’d prefer. We recommend using a .zip file for the final file. The preview video, which you see in the example I linked above, is driven by oEmbed. So, like you mentioned, if your users wanted to include a preview of the video, they would need to use a service listed on the supported oEmbed page. They are also welcome to use a static image to represent the final downloaded file, with the featured image. Finally, there are options to add .mov or .mp4 files directly to the page with a plugin or by directly adding the code in the text editor. Does that answer your question?
The oEmbed feature that we have built into the theme is simply to allow you to use a preview video instead of the static featured image.

Perhaps my question is more geared toward the person wanting to sell their videos. When they sign up/log in, they’d want to upload it to their portfolio.
Was thinking many probably have a video account somewhere, like YT or Vimeo, but a consistent looking video player seemed plausible to keep it standardized. Perhaps something like JW player or equal as when they upload, it looks the same.
So, are there any other options or plugins to achieve what I’m seeking?

First of all, I have to say that this theme is amazing! I am positive there isn’t a better one on the internet for photo stock niche! I have a problem and I don’t know how to solve it! I have installed Gravity Forms plugin but I cannot get size resolution form on the right side of images as it is on the your demo website.
