This question may sound a bit silly but, I’ve just purchase this awesome theme, but I was using the builder and now when I try to download the html it keeps saying that HTML is disable for demo and that I need to purchase the full version. What do I need to do?

Hi, love your work and have been following you from the start. Some question before I buy Pillar:
1. Could you explain a little more about the e-commerce/shop part? The demo does not seem to work when I click on something and I also could not find anything in the documentation.
2. Is it just a simple a pressing “get HTML”, place the HTML file in the page builder folder on my server and the shop works?
3. How can I view placed orders or how can customers check there order when logged in? I guess there is no fancy admin panel or any automation (like automatically sending order status updates via email, etc.).
4. Would it be easy for me to integrate a payment service provider for checking out (without much knowledge): https://www.mollie.com/en/developers.

This is an HTML template – not a CMS theme. This means that the shop functionality you see is illustrative and serves as a foundation for developers to integrate it with their chosen e-commerce platform. It sounds like you might be suited to a WordPress version which would have all the functionality you mentioned, this will be out in the coming months.

Hi, Great product. I’m trying to make a form where the form fields are smaller, it seems like I can only make the full or half width, is it not possible to make the 1/3 or 1/4 width? Ex. I want to make them 4 col gridsize and 3 col gridsize – possible?

Thanks for purchasing! You can do this by housing the input element inside one of the Bootstrap column classes, so if you wanted 4 inputs in the row you would house each one in a div with class ‘col-sm-3’

Hi ! I’m wondering how I do to get better results with the logo ? When I upload an image at 424 width like the Pillar one, it’s reduced and not looking well. Do I need to change css file ? Hello,
Variant does not need installation. Simply unzip the package you download from your downloads page to your desktop. Open builder.html in the variant folder using Chrome or Firefox for best results.

The design is awesome. I just wonder is it I don’t have to worry about comment form? My idea is, i would like to give up wordpress to use html template. I concern if i have to configure comment form myself with this template. Or is there any other thing I have to take care of?
Now, could you please advise how to make the contact form work. Either I am notified by email or goes to my database are both fine for me.
Your comment form would need to be handled by Disqus comments. Any dynamic content such as comments need to be handled by an external service since your site would most likely be static HTML. The contact form in Pillar is ready to go, you just need to configure the mail.php file in the mail folder. That will handle sending the contents of the form to your email. This won’t store it in a database, but you could add that function yourself.

Purchased Foundry for one client project while ago, loved it, and now planning on working on another client project with Pillar. I’m a coder and to me Variant is simply a handy tool to get a preliminary layout, however, I still want this handy tool to be handy enough so that I can minimize my time spent on coding.
For Foundry, Variant has a useful option “Dark BG” which enables me to create alternating color layout so easily however in Pillar I never encounter “Dark BG”. I could see some “Offset BG” here and there but honestly I feel that they don’t work as good as in Foundry since for some sections you see no difference at all even if you turn on “Offset BG”.
Just wondering why “Dark BG” is gone and why “Offset BG” behaves so unstably. And I am also wondering what we can expect from future releases of Variant. To be honest, this tool is handy but not full-fledged. I suppose many others are also very interested in the future of Variant, especially for Pillar.
PS: I would like to point out a bug in Variant: When you select “Stacked Bar” nav, and add a cover, let’s say “Cover Media 5”. Now if you turn on “Transparent Nav”, all the blocks starting from the second one became ineditable because the “Settings” icon shifted up a little bit. I find this super annoying. Try it.
I don’t know if it’s Pillar or just me trying to dig too hard, I find the Variant builder really unstable with Pillar.

As we’ve recently moved our templates to a new codebase we are still integrating it fully with the Variant environment. This means that some options are still being added into the builder.
Thanks for pointing out the issue with the stacked bar nav on transparent mode – we’ll look into this.
As for the Offset BG toggle – this does not appear on all blocks and depends on the contents of the block itself (some are better suited than others). It should always take effect though – so thanks for pointing this out.
We will add dark variations back once the blocks have been tested. Things are taking a little longer than expected due to the much larger number of available blocks that Pillar offers, this is something we’re working to improve.
In the near future you’ll see modal and notification management added into Variant along with better navigation management

Hi, can I have a shop with 4 products in a row instead of 3 (1 sidebar and 2 products)? So 1 sidebar and 4 products, or 1 sidebar and 5 products?

You could rearrange these pages as you see fit using the Bootstrap column classes (Pillar is based on Bootstrap). So for 4 products in a row, you’d change the column class from ‘col-md-4’ to ‘col-md-3’ so they span 25% of the container, instead of 33.333%
