Hi Lubos, can you help me please with a header setting set up.I am using a third party directory plugin called business directory. Sorting out issues i now don’t have the featured image in the header as before. I understand it’s not your issues directly. Would you talk me thru the header settings as it was showing the featured image in the header for the individual business a few days back. Now I can’t get that feature to work. They are not displaying for me in Firefox. Again, it is a common issue, please follow the article to resolve it. It is a hosting related thing, not a theme one.

The background image slider (driven by Theme Options > Header Settings > Slideshow Images) is working great on desktop browsers, but there is no animation/rotation on mobile devices (phones or tablets): it just keeps the first image static. Is this by design? Is there a setting to control this? Thanks.

yes, this is by design, for performance reasons. It is really not a good idea to have it animated on mobile devices. It will just slow down the site on slower phones.

it is not possible without editing the code. The code in question is in archive-lsvrevent.php file in theme’s root folder, but if you are not familiar with HTML/PHP you will have to hire a freelancer for that. Some additional CSS styling will be required as well.

Great! One more tip: make copy of this archive-lsvrevent.php file (with your code changes) in child theme root folder, so when you update the theme in the future (you always should keep it up to date), you won’t lose your changes in the code. Certain core theme files like this one can be placed into child theme and will override parent ones.

You need to create a base page for your events (and all other post types like notices and documents) and set it under Theme Options / Events. The title of that page will be used in page title and breadcrumbs. Please read the documentation. If you already did this, then it looks like some kind of plugin conflict.

Theme is already up to date. Just updated it. I inserted the API and saved the changes. It still doesn’t work. It used to work.
If you are overriding footer.php file in your child theme, you will need to update it from parent theme. Alternatively, it can be caused by your caching plugin, if you are using any, please delete your cache.

There is no footer.php in the child theme directory, and I just cleared the cache with no result.

It looks fine to me, but Google API still doesn’t like something about it obviously. Try to add “http://holdenvillechamber.com”. Anyway, this is not a theme related issue, there is nothing I can do with it.
Got it working. I think I hadn’t saved the holdenvillechamber.com/* one, and I added the one you said. So for anyone having the same problem, the three I added were: .holdenvillechamber.com/, http://holdenvillechamber.com/*, and http://holdenvillechamber.com.

The theme is updated and the API key is there.
In that case it has to be some kind of caching issue because I don’t see the api key in the code. If you are using a caching plugin, delete your cache.
I’m using cloudflare CDN, but I purged everything multiple times…

You just need to put your Google Maps API key into Theme Options / Header Settings – Google Maps API Key field. Link with more info is in field’s description.

Hi. I love what I’ve seen of your theme, and I’d really like to use it, but I have a couple of questions before I purchase.
1) Is there a way to customise the dates on events so they show the day of the week, eg, “Tuesday July 19” rather than just “July 19”?
2) Is there a way to save venue information, or do you have to type in venue name, address, etc, manually every time you create an event?

1.) date format for events, posts and notices is taken from WP settings, so it can be changed (but only globally for all this post types). If you are referring to a date in Events widget in sidebar (the one with calendar-like style), then format of this one can’t be changed.
2.) Unfortunately, there is no option to save venue info

This is really weird indeed. But first, you should update the theme to its latest version (1.3.9), if it won’t solve the issue, I will take a deeper look on this.
It’s written that is compatible with wordpress version 4.5.x, but the latest version of the theme doesn’t include VC 4.11.2 wich is the compatible version for WP 4.5.
So now i’ve just updated WP to the latest version and can’t use Visual Composer anymore because of this, can u release an updated version of the theme including a new version of Visual Composer?

due to the bug in older versions of VC, you had to deactivate and remove your current version of VC, then you will be prompted to install it again which will install latest version bundled with the theme (4.12). But you’ve obviously already sorted it out.

I just made a new directory and the new one is correct the old menu kept moving new additions to the top after saving, which was incorrect.

Documents is a custom functionality tailored specifically for this theme, so I am afraid no 3rd party plugin will do the job, it has to be custom coded. Or alternatively, you can try to find a 3rd party plugin which you will use instead of built-in documents.
Redirect public users’ login to forums login page

I’ve addressed the api issue in the latest update. There is an option to insert your own google maps api key.
Theme contains shortcodes to insert Events or Documents into any page.

Hi again, re the shortcodes I am looking at your documentation and I can’t find examples of using them for events. Do you have an example where short codes have been used for a category of an event list. also it there a short codes list in your documentation
I don’t have any examples as those shortcodes weren’t used in the demo. They can be inserted via Visual Composer where you just set them up via form so the documentation is not really needed for them. I can send you screenshots on Monday when I get back from vacation if you wish.

The next time i go there i get code from visual composer and not the map. Have u seen this issue before. i am on my own centos server. it looks like a cache issue maybe. I’ve checked one of your listing and everything works fine for me, but if the issue is with the map, isn’t it possible it can be related to this Google maps API changes? Anyway, the best way to check out if it’s the theme to blame or plugin, is to try it with some default theme like Twenty Sixteen (on the same installation with same plugins and config). If the theme is causing this, I will definitely take a deeper look at it.

Your dev site is missing part of the theme’s code, that’s why it’s broken. Can you please disable child theme (activate just parent one) so I can take a look?
Sure. I’ve activated the parent theme.
http://keokuk.nuggetweb.com/Now it looks even more broken because as you’ve activated the parent theme, it tries to load customskin.css from parent theme, but you have it in child theme (as you should). But that’s not the issue here. The thing is that now you do have the missing piece of HTML code there so I am 100% sure your issue is caused by some HTML customizations in child theme. It seems you have header.php file (or maybe some other files as well) in your child theme’s root which needs to get updated, because several updates back I’ve made a change to HTML code in some core theme files. Please check out changelog – update v1.2.9 description.

Hi I am having problems with the google maps feature. When I add a map to a page with a lat-long i get an error message in the box where the map should be upon loading the page that states. “Oops! Something went wrong.” “This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.” Chrome DevTools console is showing a NoApiKeys error.

Google made changes to their maps, so you will have to generate your own Google API key and insert it into field in Theme Options (which will be available in this new update).
