Can the main page “The Wall” have it pick random posts from a certain category. Have over 100’s of older posts that are getting lost and don’t want to just show recent posts.

if you only have posts to show in the wall you can use the specific wall view -> http://demo.uncommons.pro/themes/wp/random/site/wall-blog/
Unfortunately there isn’t a category option to customize the query but you can also remove the limit to the posts so the wall will display them all.
You can also change the ordering of posts:
- Random - Creation Date - Edit Date - Author - Title - Slug - Comment Count - ID - None
Note: the same options are valid also for the classic mixed Wall (homepage)

what do you mean with posting page? The random function is to display a wall o posts in grid in a random order. The random function is not about the post publishing time.

unfortunately Random hasn’t any included design for famous shop plugins. However you could to utry to use WooCOmmerce using the standard design of plugin.

unfortunately this is not possible. You can use the standard date ordering for all posts but if you use random order for now you can’t feature 1 item moving it to the top.

Random uses a Services post type to publish all services you see in the home.. There are many types of services you can create. One of them is EMBED MEDIA Service.. This item allows you to attach any embed code.. So to use video or audio you have to embed code from some service.

thanks for your interest on Random.
1. The code is fully available (it’s not minified)
2. You can add plugins. The only known uncompatibility is about the tools that use a WPAlchemy based framework because the theme uses Vafpress and it will have problems with other similar frameworks
3. In the demo we closed the comments for spam reasons but the arrow in the post and projects will count the real comments attached to the item and clicking the arrow the user will go to the post and he can post comments normally (if you enable the post discussion option)
4. There are 5 different loading gif, we haven’t added an upload field for this feature, but you could replace the gif in the theme folder giving them the same names. However the page loading will have always the same gif fo all site (you can’t change it by post)

A new Question: this theme I’m very happy with has nearly everything but no shop-item. But could be worse, it us nearly perfect for me.
A little bit tricky: Is there any possibility, to take the ‘portfolio’-page and sell pics/digitals goods there with f.e. the plugin ‘easy digital downloads’?

the portfolio items have a content field exactly like the posts and the pages so if this plugin has the shortcode to include the button to purchase the goods it could work (but we never tested)

Random has a service item called EMBED MEDIA that can be used to paste the js code you need.. It will create a item in the wall with the embed code inside..
We never tested yet with adsense but I think you would have the adsense banners mixed in the wall’s grid.

Hello, 1 – the box are showed in random mode 2 – the box video shows a you tube movie, you can set it in autoplay 3 – I don’t understand.. all posts are displayed in random mode 4 – What do you mean ? Category filters ?

All in all satisfied, until it comes to viewing site in mobile or tablet:
- huge black box/rectangle cluttering 1/8th of my screen constantly, not only when reaching end of page like in desktop browser. This constant Footer is annoying, and if anything at all, i just need a small icon for #top function, like in androidauthority.com
Been trying to fiddle with footer.php, but since i’m not good at coding, i look like a donkey staring at a palace.

Hello, after purchasing and installing this template i have found the following bugs for first sight:
- 1) i have set a limit for the number of my homepage itmes, but it still triggering all my posts btw instead of listing all the posts it could be great a scroll based loader solution
- 2) crashing on mobile, iPhone 6. Probably it caused by the same problem I mentioned in the previous bulletpoint

Is the content of the wall only pulled from WordPress posts, or can it be pulled automatically from other sources such as Facebook and Twitter?
We would like to have your theme’s design, but we don’t want to duplicate the content on WordPress and Social.

The wall is getting the items from Posts, gallery, portfolio and services.. You could add a plugin to create wp posts directly from Facebook.. So the wall could simply get posts.

Thanks for the great theme. Before going for it, I have a couple of questions.
1. In the Fullslider : can you make the top ” full slider” random (four random items out of a hundred for example).
1B. Can you chose the height of the full-slider part ?
2. In the fullslide, can you display a video easily (i.e. video loop with text on it)
3. In “The Wall”, even if items are displayed randomly, can you select some items that will remain all the time (and all items around are random) ?
4. In “The Wall” what flexibility do we have to add for instance other Full screen layers with opt-in forms ?
5. What is the rule of random? For instance, in “The wall”, I notice that I see the same items when I reload the page. However, if I load it the next day, I indeed see a new page with other random items.
6. In “the wall”, there is sometimes an image (with text when I hover over it), what is the rule? Is it possible to simply display an image with text on top ?

We answer:
1. The fullslider is based on custom slides you can add manually and unfortunately it hasn’t the random feature. You can order the slides with drag & drop.
1b. Th height is fixed but you can add a simple css class to customize it
2. The fullslider only allows images and 1 text
Advise: reading the question about fullslider we could advise you to use a premium slider like revolution slider to have all these features. In this case we could help you to include the rev slider in the page options using our Studio service.
3. In the wall if you remove the limit of items you will display all items in random order so all the items will always be visible. If you limit the items number there is no way to take some items always visible.
4. The wall can include posts, portfolio items, gallery items and services. The services are about 9 different type but there isn’t a form layout or a html text service to add a form.
5. In the demo you see the same items because we added WP Super Cache plugin but if we remove the cache you will see always a different ordering everytime you update the page. This give the same visibility to all items (also the older)..
6. This is part of randomization.. Most of items have 2 designs that are choosen randomly so the grid has a better design. Unfortunately we haven’t added text on image in our concept.
