Hi, I’m having slight issues with Google page speed test – https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Foption.finance&tab=mobile
Need to move it all to green. However, it says:
Your page has 9 blocking script resources and 14 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.
Please can you help in optimising the web theme, to improve the speed?

First of all – read this

Second, the theme is only 1 small part of performance optimization – a topic which is very wide ranging and well beyond theme support. But let me give you some pointers.
1.) I think you need to spend some time getting your hosting up to scratch. Basic things like gzip compression are not enabled on your host http://checkgzipcompression.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Foption.finance%2F(again that’s not a theme issue)
2.) WordPress by design basically relies on blocking resources like jQuery. There are plugins available which can help to make them non blocking
e.g. https://wordpress.org/plugins/async-javascript/ https://wordpress.org/plugins/above-the-fold-optimization/but they will most likely break plugins you might be using that assume jQuery et al are loaded in the way WordPress loads them by default.
3.) I would recommend you experiment with a plugin like BWP Minify https://wordpress.org/plugins/bwp-minify/this will help minify your CSS and JS – again be careful with these as minifying some WordPress plugin js can break your site.
4.) Pagespeed is flagging some of your images for further optimization – this is usually one of the biggest reasons for a lower pagespeed score.

As per the Setup guide – see Step 4 – you need to go to Appearance > Menus – ‘Screen Options’ at the top and tick the ‘CSS Classes’ and ‘Description’ check boxes.

Thank you Simon! Another quick question there is a sidebar on the right side of the website that contacts social media icons, contact, privacy, sitemap and terms. How do I update or change the info in that? Where is that located?

Major error with this theme.
When the site is loaded, it takes the user straight to the footer. It does this on every page of the website on every browser and every computer it’s been tested on. Laptops, tablets, and mobile phones included.
If it doesn’t do it right away, it will after clicking the logo or clicking the Home link in the navigation menu.
The most notorious pages it does this on are the Home page and Contact page. Two of our most important pages.
Some test users have complained that sometimes it will load the page at the top and then quickly scroll to the bottom without them having to touch anything.
I installed the theme with the demo content and settings that came with it.
Yes, I have tried clearing my cache as has everyone who’s tested it.
No, none of the links are linking to any sections/divisions/a names on the page.
What is this theme’s fascination with the footer and how do we resolve it?
I’ve spent half a week playing with different settings and looking at the code and I can not find what’s causing this.
We are now very behind on this project thanks to the glitch caused by this theme.

Hi,
Can you optimize your template for SEO ? For example, currently on main page H1 tag is missing. I think that header should use this tags e.g. “Experts are behind everything we do.”
Similar problem is with H2 tags etc.
At this moment template is not seo friendly.
Hi there – if you’re referring to the text within LayerSlider you can change this from a paragraph to a H1 or H2 if you wish within the plugin.

You’ll be able to see all of the header elements on every device – mobile and desktop.
There is a Theme Option where you can hide the 3 header ‘feature icons’ (Address, Enquiries, Brochure – or whatever you change these to) – on mobile if you wish.

Great theme! Just two notes:
On the search results page, the header and sidebar layout seems a little off.
If you enable “Top Bar Mobile Visibility”, the top bar is shown on mobile with a strange margin on top.

I have Top Bar Mobile Visibility enabled on our main demo now and I don’t see any strange margins – if you could take a screenshot of what you see along with your browser/OS details and send me a ticket I’ll look into it asap on our return to the office on Monday.
Re: search results screen – I do see one minor issue where the breadcrumb doesn’t have a margin (which we’ll fix asap on Monday) but apart from that it looks good – is that what you’re referring to? If it’s something different can you please include a screenshot in your tickets – thanks!

It looks all imported to me – the images used on the demo site are copyrighted and can’t unfortunately be included in the demo data. They were sourced from shutterstock.com – for a decent free alternative try unsplash.com

- Is there a left sidebar option for the Solutions pages? Or can one be made?
- Is there any Icon support (e.g. icon boxes etc.) to show features/benefits? If not, any way to hack this/achieve similar functionality with shortcodes or similar?
