You had said about 2 years back that you are looking to have Customer Testimonial Module or something similar added (or look into it). In which, the new customer can add their experience of the website in the cart. If this will be added I need another one for my client.
Hi, if if was that long ago I was probably referring to the Text Rotator module in Journal 2, however it’s not possible for customers to actually leave comments in this module, they can leave product reviews, however and you can manually create a Text Rotator module with those reviews.

I confirm the font size issue, thought it was also fixed by fixing a different small issue. It’s fixed now, coming in 2.8.2 early next week.

I can confirm it’s working fine, Text, Icon or Both in all OC versions, probably a cache issue on your end.
Actually there may be an issue if you’re using the Top Menu as a Bottom Bar on mobile. We’re investigating and make sure it’s included in our next update.

Hi, this isn’t something theme related but it may be possible to set the lifetime of your php session to a longer time, however you’d need to consult with a developer or ask on the forum as it’s not something controlled from the theme side.

Hi there I’m trying to either edit the size of the search box in the Journal 10 skin of Journal v2.8.0 or remove it completely. I have googled and tried to complete this by myself but can not do it and it’s driving me nuts. I have tried editing /catalog/view/theme/journal2/template/common/header.tpl and content_top.tpl and search.tpl
I’ve also tried editing the same files in the default OC template.
Can you please point me in the right direction.

Hi, no need to edit any files, you can modify the search size with some custom css code in Journal > Settings > Custom Code > CSS.
Or simply remove it from Journal > Settings > Catalog Mode > Header > Search > OFF.

Congrats on the new updates, I’m still convinced that this theme is the best opencart theme for years to come. i was hoping if with the new updates you have considered a proper Deal of the day page or even tweaking the Special page to be more interactive and engaging.

Buy Now, Progress Counter, Differnet Taps on top and tags based on categories or brands maybe and much more! more over the Deals page should have it’s owne complete setup from backend just like prodcut page and category page. i think it should boost your theme to the sky if you are able to include a well designed Deals page! I wouldn’t mind to pay extra if you guys can have that developed for us!
Hi, I can’t comment on these features being added unfortunately, we’re not sure at this stage and we can’t take custom jobs.
However, you can already customize the Specials page however you want in terms of placing custom modules in any position, backgrounds, etc. There is a “Special” layout on which you can place customized modules with our countdown feature, special banners, sliders, etc. to make it stand out much more from your other pages.
Also looking at that Buy Now button, I see it just opens a product in a quickview where you can pick up options and add it to cart, after which you must login and checkout. That process isn’t any different than the one in our theme now, you simply open the quickview from any page, pick your options and add it to cart.

Hi, you should see that in the Layout selector, if not create the layout yourself in Opencart > Design > Layouts with the route “product/special”.

Hi, Version 2.8 the popup module on any page shows above all website content.
So if there is a time delay for when pop up shows it sits at top of websites then when the time it should show it then pops to middle of screen where it should be.

Hi, not sure why you’d use that, try it with an actual phone. Or simply use the Chrome desktop browser, it’s got the best mobile testing built right in. But one thing, only 1 filter can be selected?
Mobiletest.me is actually pretty bad, it’s just resizing the browser window, it’s not using an actual mobile user agent like the the Chrome simulator so it’s a fake service, you can just resize your browser to get the same results.

Of course not, you should remove all that code. Also remove any other code about min-height that you may have been given, for equalising grid heights.
Hi DA, i think its a wonderful update with many new things. What i wanna say also is when a major update comes not only in journal almost anywhere there always be some minor bugs so don’t update direct on live store make a backup first and wait a few days or weeks to see if any update comes to fix those issues.

Hi, after i updated the Journal Theme to 2.8.0 version on OpenCart 2.1.0.2, i have problem with Firefox browser and the Modules: Bestsellers and Featured on Homepage. All columns are in left side on first column.
Google Chrome is working fine.

Just updated and love the improvements our website is now a lot faster on desktop and mobile. However, the carousel no longer works and just displays a single column with black boxes and no products. Changing the items per row makes no difference neither does turning it on and off again. The infinite scroll does not work either it just says no more items. Will you be updating these issues in 1.5.6.4?

Its should have been mentioned about the known issues in 1.5.x when you released the update. So now I have to remove features from my store that make me money! Not great! When would you expect to release 2.8.1?
We didn’t know about them until today, after they were reported by others on our support page. We can’t possibly test all case scenarios in our dev environment. We expect to update it tonight again, the latest tomorrow.

Hi, we don’t have a detailed tutorial about that particular menu but you can read the documentation to understand how it works in general and then access that demo admin (user/pass: demo/demo) and look in Menus > Main Menu to see how it’s set up and simply recreate it in your store.
