There seems to be a bug with the header. I can not upload a logo; the usual upload option does not appear in the theme options. Support has not been very helpful so far.

Option to change logo is placed in Theme Options -> Header. You are trying to change it not in Theme Options, but in Customizer.
Please, check your ticket, I’ce recorded video for you where this option is placed.

Turns out, I needed to activate the Salt plug-in to get full customization. All better.
I recently purchased the Salt WP Theme because I really love the design and functionality. However, from testing the performance of the main demo on both my highend Windows PC and MacBook Pro, and I’m seeing homepage load times ranging from 12 to 17 secs. In contrast, testing of other demo pages such as the About Us, Services and Blog pages load in under 2 seconds (which is great).
I also tested your main demo home page on GTMetrix and Googles Pagespeed insights—and in both cases, the page load times were similar with my local testing. Pageload times of this order suggest coding inefficiencies (DOM Content Loading 4sec & DOM Processing 11 sec) and high number of requests (134) in the Salt WP theme.
I was planning to use the Salt WP theme for a upcoming client project, but the performance is simply not practical. Most online users abandon a website if the pageload time is longer than 3 seconds.
I’m confident that the developers can resolve these performance issues after putting some focus effort on code optimization. I will send the developers copies of my testing data via the QodeArena support ticket system.
SALT has a great design and perfect functionality for my project. A couple of pre-sale questions for you.
Could you provide support to modify the accordion so that when it opens, the background color changes with a transition?
The description indicates SALT has a custom 404 page, but I didn’t see it in demo. Can one modify / stylize the 404 page using visual composer?

Yes, we can assist you with that.
Unfortunately 404 page couldn’t be created with Visual Composer. There are predefined some settings for 404 page in Theme Options.

One last support question / request. Could you also assist with a small customization of the theme’s mobile menu?
Specifically, I would like to add some easing to the mobile menu when it opens, and add an animation to the hamburger icon, i.e., transition from horizontal bars to x.
If so, I will definitely buy a copy of the theme.

Your theme is very decent and I was keen on buying it until I tested it on my iPhone 7. There is too much breakage and overlapping of various elements, text is illegible also.

Are you able to click links in the header? Are the three boxes under the header clickable as well?
What links and boxes do you mean? Menu items? If so – they all are clickable for sure.

I noticed that this theme is listed as well documented. Can you tell me what your documentation includes and how detailed the information is? I have run into other “well documented” themes that only included screen shots with little information. Thanks

If you want to have different domain names for website and blog – it is not related to theme. You will need to buy second domain name for blog.

There are two buga. 1) I can’t remove the popup with theme options. 2) Revslider unable to fill the site width. There is a gap on the left.
