When a photo is placed in rtmedia only the title of the image shows up in the activity stream without a thumbnail. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong ?

Yes. I think there’s something with the settings of the site.
Try to:
- Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress/bbPress/rtMedia
- Deactivate rtMedia, activate rtMedia
- Deactivate BuddyPress/bbPress/rtMedia, activate BuddyPress/bbPress/rtMedia
- Upload a smaller image
- Activate the default template Twenty Fifteen (and try to upload)

- Delete rtMedia (be careful with this, make a backup of the site)
Earlier the images loaded, but not now?

1. This template is design (graphical shell), it does not contain any “social code”. The “social code” is WordPress, BuddyPress, rtMedia and other plugins. You can move different widgets, links, change colors, but the design is still roughly the same as in the demo:

Such a plugin as “BuddyPress Pets” does not exist.
I think you can rename “Group” to “Pets” Try on WordPress/BuddyPress site without a template. I think it will turn out well.

You have the right to use this plugin, but you can’t activate Visual Composer because this plugin come bundled with the theme as a bonus.
If you want to update plugin automatically (with “activation code”) you need to buy Visual Composer by Regular License.
Do not worry about activation, I always make sure to include the latest version in the theme package so you can manually update it.

I am not happy with the post sharing option in this theme. It doesn’t take the featured image and a excerpt of the post for placing it in Facebook like most themes and plugins. It only takes the post title. At the moment I share my posts manualy because it is the best option for me. But not oké for visitors who want to share my posts.
