Can you do Table of Contents on your posts with this theme?
Hey ChevronX,
Thanks for your interest in Orca.
We don’t include any Table of Contents functionality as part of the theme itself, however this could easily be achieved using a HTML block within the post editor.
Thanks – found https://ghost.org/tutorials/adding-a-table-of-contents/

Do you plan to update the theme to support upcoming Ghost 1.0?
Hey taewoo,
Absolutely – as with all Ghost platform updates, once released we will updating our range of Ghost themes to support the latest version.
Thanks but the Orca theme has the exact layout I want. Is it not possible to just have a single image on the front page header? Similar to the way the post article pages look
Hey mgsolid2000,
As mentioned above this is not a feature of the theme – however could be added via a third-party customization.
Would there be an additional cost to this, it is just a single image to add on the header
Although we are happy to assist with minor customizations via our theme support, but do not provide support for major customzations such as this. As such you will need to consult a developer for such changes.
If you have any further pre-sales queries please create a new ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist.
Is it possible to have a full image/featured image on the main page? Because other than that, the theme will be most ideal for my current project.
Hey mgsolid2000,
Thanks for your interest in Orca – a frontpage cover is not a feature of Orca and we would instead recommend checking our Cedar theme.
Hi,
I would like to purchase this theme, however the main image for the post pages are too big, is it not possible to have this image just smaller? Just like your front page, because the front page looks perfect, the images are the right size, but when you click on the post, the picture is big.
Is it not possible to have the same layout of the front page in the actual post page?
Thanks
Hey tridentgrafix,
We are happy to assist with minor customizations – such as changing an elements height. If you decide to purchase Orca, submit a ticket on our support site regarding the above.
Thanks for your response. It’s not the height I was querying, you see in the front page the images are shown not on the header but above the post.
On the post page it the image is on the header. I wanted to have the image the same size and in the same position as on the main page.
Basically, the same layout you have for the front page, I want to have this on the post page.
Orca includes four header styles – the full-width cover is only one of these. The live demo includes a preview of the alternative Feature, Banner and Standard headers.
Hi,
Please could you let me know if this theme also has a sidebar?
Thanks
Hey tridentgrafix,
Thanks for your interest in Orca.
Orca does include a sidebar – it can be seen within the live demo on the left-side column. This sidebar can also be switched to the right-side if preferred.
Does the theme allow new posts to be displayed on the side bar, if so do you have any pictures showing how this would look?
This is not possible in the current version of Ghost – as such it is not a feature of the theme.
If this is required functionality we would instead recommend Orca for the WordPress platform – which has the ability to show selected featured posts in the sidebar.
Orca has been updated to 2.7.0. Below is the change-log for this update.
v2.7.0 - 15/11/2016
+ Updated Documentation
- Minor Bug Fixes
Hello, guys! Awesome template!
I have a quick question, though: is it possible to add custom fields to posts in Ghost? Like the custom post types in WP?
Thank you very much!
Hey JSN5,
Thanks for your comments.
Ghost currently does not support custom fields like WordPress – however post tags can be used to identity between post types.
Is it possible to disable excerpt?
Hey dalecarlian,
Thanks for your interest in Orca.
The excerpt can be removed with some custom CSS. If you decide to purchase send us a ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist with this.

?Hi, could you help with showing feature image in Facebook? I finally managed to deploy Ghost blog using your theme, but when I copy paste this link on FB, the image are not showing..
Note: I actually bought this theme really long time ago before Envato changed its licensing option and to my surprise, your ticket system said it’s expired
Thank you!
Hey winnerlicious,
Thanks for your purchase of Orca.
You should be able to submit a ticket when you have an expired support license. If you are still having issues you can send an email to support@ecko.me.
Thank you .. sent email with the questions.
No problem, we just replied to your query.
Orca has been updated to 2.5.1. Below is the change-log for this update:
v2.5.1 - 09/01/2016
+ Improved Social Network Options
+ Transitioned from Grunt to Gulp
+ Updated FontAwesome (v4.5.0)
+ Updated Documentation
- Minor Bug Fixes
This theme does a lot of things right, but there’s also some other places where the experience could be a little bit smoother.
For example, in order to customize social media icons (if only to make them point to your actual Twitter and Facebook accounts), you have to go in the code and edit template in two different places (sidebar and footer).
And of course, once you’ve customized the theme, keeping it up to date becomes very impractical.
That being said, coming from WordPress I was surprised to see that Ghost apparently doesn’t support theme settings or child themes. There’s not much the theme author can do about these things I guess.
So overall a great theme, but just don’t expect to be able to use it out of the box like you would with a WordPress theme.
(I should also add that I reviewed quite a few clean, “Medium-style” Ghost themes before picking this one. Imo it’s one of the best Ghost themes out there, even with my small criticism
Hey SachaG,
Thanks for your comments and purchase of Orca.
As you noted the Ghost platform doesn’t provide theme options functionality, so any theme-specific configuration/customization is done via the theme files. With the included documentation and file comments no coding knowledge is required, and if you require assistance we’re happy to help via our support site.
If a user interface is preferred for configuration and customization we would recommend the WordPress alternative of Orca.
Oh I can customize it just fine. I just meant that maybe you could streamline it a bit, but centralizing the options in a single JSON file for example, instead of having people edit actual templates in multiple places.
If/when Ghost adds functionality of having a JSON based theme configuration, we will certainly update our Ghost themes to support it. However at the current time this is the best available solution we have found without relying on client-side JavaScript, which would make such content unavailable if JavaScript were disabled by the user or browser.
Makes sense. Thanks for the reply!
Hello,
I have some feedback and it would be great if you could consider it for your next update, if possible.
— Can you add the styles for the YouTube button in a next update:
.social_solid.youtube { background: #cd201f }
.social_solid.youtube i { color: #fff }
.social_solid.youtube:hover i { color: #cd201f }
https://www.youtube.com/yt/brand/de/color.html— At the end of each post are the share buttons for Twitter, Google+ and Facebook. For the user however it’s not clear if it’s a share button or just a link button to the fanpage. Better would be to add a call-to-action like: Share this post on:
— What I miss are suggestions of relevant or next blog posts on each blog post page similar as in the Casper theme at the end of the page so that the reader keeps on reading. Right now it’s more like a one-way street where the reader reads a post and then goes away. Or show a list of the 3 latest or more relevant blog posts in the sidebar. Is that possible?
— Also nice would be if the tag bubble is automatically created rather than editing theme files manually and uploading them. It would be much easier.
Thank you,
Philip
Hey Philip,
Thanks for your purchase and suggestions.
2, 3. Due to Ghost not supporting theme options at this time, when updating the theme we try to not modify the appearance or design.
3, 4. The Ghost Theme API currently doesn’t offer a ‘Related Posts’ or ‘Tag Cloud’ feature, which is why this requires manual configuration.
If you have any further questions please open a new ticket on our support centre.
Hello,
I don’t understand your first answer 2,3.
Regarding my point #2: In the Casper theme is also used “Share this post on:” before the social button icons.
Regarding point #3: In the Casper theme are shown next blog posts. I understand that maybe not every of your buyers would like to include next blog posts as in the Casper theme. Even if Ghost doesn’t offer options, you could include it in the template and the theme buyers who don’t want to show it, can comment out the next blog post part.
Philip
We avoid modifying the appearance of the theme when updating. Since we already have many users who purchased the theme appearing/functioning a particular way. Both these suggested changes modify the appearance of the theme, and therefore we recommend making the changes yourself.
If you require assistance with these modifications please open a new ticket on our support centre.
