Hey guys. How to change forum width?
Hello!
In the flightdeck extension are options to choose between: Boxed (1200px) and fluid (95%) layout. Beyond this it’s no longer possible to define a custom width.

Thanks for your question. Regrettably it’s not possible to change the sidebar widths. This is due to the complexity of the layout and its integration with our responsive framework + other customisable features.

I see that user mheeger had the same problem few days ago but the solution wasn’t posted. I can’t get the extension flightdeck to work with phpbb 3.2, it just doesn’t appear in the extension list, what would be the issue?

The problem is that the FlightDeck extension wasn’t uploaded to the correct folder.
Ensure that flightdeck is uploaded to: phpBB/ext/planetstyles/flightdeck/ . A common mistake is uploading the flightdeck folder into /ext/ or /ext/phpBB/ . It should be located inside the /planetstyles/ folder

Ah right, I get it now. I had to create the planetstyle folder, I was confused because the folder wasn’t provided within the theme 3.2 version and thought that planetstyle folder was just for the 3.1. Cheers for your help, works now!

Hi! I’m thinking of purchasing your theme, but I had a few questions before I pulled the trigger. My site uses Canvas as a theme, which I got from here, but apparently the developer deleted the theme right around 3.2 came out, and now I’m not sure if there’s going to be any updates there, so I’m looking ahead to alternatives, and your theme is refreshingly modern. My questions, then.

A lot of those won’t have a problem since they can coexist fine with Prosilver, but to your knowledge, do any of them NOT work with your theme? In particular, I wanted to ask about the Thanks for Posts extension, which in my current theme worked in principle, but I needed additional coding to get the actual Thumbs Up/Thanks button to show up.
Can the sidebar be present only in the main forum index, as opposed to every page? There’s a simple option in my current theme to get it to show up in Index/Main Forum Page/Topic Page, and I just select from that.
The different preset colors, are those easily available on the settings end, just pick the one I want and press SAVE and it shows up, or do I have to add code for each one each time I wish to change the color presets?
Are the settings available via the main forum page as an extension, or through ACP?
I can’t think of another question right now, but it’s already long enough. I appreciate you getting back to me whenever you can on any of this. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your questions, and your interest in the Milk Theme
Regarding extensions – we’ll test this list today and get back to you on the compatability within the next few hours.
Presently the sidebars are global and can’t be limited to index only through a switch in our extension. This was a conscious decision due to the number of layout configurations that are possible and the added complexity another conditional statement would add to that. We’ve added this to our backlog though as it would be a nice feature to implement.
As for presets, these are very easy to set from the ACP within our flightdeck extension. You would simply need to choose either a solid colour and select this with a colour picker, or select one of our presets. Your option is saved in the database and then shown to all end users. There are 15+ presets included with the theme, but you can definitely modify them add your own if you’re comfortable editing CSS and .json files.

Hi again, I tried to download the 2.01 hot fix but is it possible that it’s not on here yet? It’s identical in file size to the previous version and.. didn’t fix the issue with the notification, pm correctly overlapping main wrapper.
Yes there was an issue on ThemeForests end with the upload. We’ve resubmitted and are awaiting approval again

I see that unfortunately we still can not choose the background color of the forumlist for the moment only the light function is available but when a dark function, is this planned in a future release?

As for the dark skin it’s true that this didn’t make it into the fully supported 3.2 release, but is near the top of our priority list for the next release. We hold ourselves to extremely high standards and want to make sure everything works properly before implementing, in this case, as well as creating a beautifully balanced palette, we’d need to ensure the colour scheme complimented all flightdeck settings – which is quite a big job!
But we definitely consider it one of the most important things to roll out in the next feature release. I would like to think this will be done in the next 6-8 weeks

That’s a great question, the answer entirely depends on whether you’re using a fluid / boxed layout, have parallax enabled, and whether you’re using a background that repeats or want to use one large image.
If you can let us know how you’ve got your forum configured, we can recommend some tips for your header image.

In ACP -> Customise -> Milk -> Details, if you set “Inherits from” to “Prosilver”, then purge cache, the extensions will load correctly.
We’ll make sure this is set to prosilver by default in the next update

Once the extension activated what would be good is to be able to have an option in the sidebar via flightdeck to integrate it correctly.

Ah! We actually tried integrating this extension into the footer by default, but due to the way the extension is coded it only shows them on the index page. So even if we integrated in the sidebar they wouldn’t show beyond the index page, making our integration redundant over the default functionality of the extension

For the case you didn’t see it, we recently updated to 3.2 and now we get these error messages after making a post or a new thread. It doesn’t happen all the time but often enough. We disabled all extensions, didn’t help it.
Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘Symfony\Component\DependencyInjection\Exception\ServiceNotFoundException’ with message ‘You have requested a non-existent service “notification.method.board”...........
Also any word on when you roll out the 3.2 update? I could imagine its related to the theme not being updated to 3.2 with extended features yet.

Hmm, that error looks like it might be caused by something going wrong on your installation as opposed to the Milk Theme. Do the problems persist if you use Prosilver?
We are expecting to submit the fully supported 3.2 update today, which will mean it’s available through ThemeForest in the next 24-48 hours.
If you can email us through our support page though, we are happy to privately email you the 3.2 release tonight.

Hello Planetstyles, very happy with my forum. I got a question though.. a couple of people asked me already if they can change the board style. I couldn’t find a solution to that, it would be super sweet if they were able to change it to all the nice predefined styles that the Milk Theme comes with but right now I only see “Milks” and “Silver” in the board settings: http://i.imgur.com/vH15qLZ.png

It doesn’t look like I can access that screenshot. However it’s not possible for your members to pick their own colour scheme. The colour scheme is set by the board Administrator in the FlightDeck extension, that style is then displayed to all end users

TO answer your questions specifically though:
1) Yes, the logo is uploaded directly from the ACP, then stored in your forum’s filesystem. 2) The control panel will accept any image format. The size can be quite difficult to give an exact answer, we recommend choosing a very large image and then enabling the ‘stretch’ option in the control panel so that the header scales according to your members’ device.
