hi, nice theme.. i have some pre purchase questions , 1.is it possible to add images or embed a video to the recipe page regards, nikhil

Hello,

Yes, you can add images and videos to the post content. Just like on any WordPress blog.

Here’s a recipe with a video embedded: http://live.bobosh.com/recipes/recipe/beef-steak-with-grilled-pineapple-and-salad

hi thanks for the reply.. i have some more doubts. 2.can the video embedding and images added to gallery option be given as an option in submit a recipe page . 3.one good feature in your theme which i havent found in other themes is the recipe from other site option . which i think accept a link of other webpage and that will be displayed as card in our site which will show upon search and when clicked will be diverted to that webpage . if i want to charge the user for making use of that option how can the payments will be done. do i have to go for other plugins and all. or is there a feature included here. 4.is search by ingredients options possible in this theme. like people should be able to search by 4-5 ingredients and the resulting recipes should include that ingredients . also by excluding some ingredients if they don’t want to see recipes with ingredients they don’t like . 5.is the home page customizable. like if i want to add the top rated recipes the same way in homepage as big cards like all recipes are showing now. below that i want to add same way 6. is social login possible ? regards, nikhil

2. This is not currently possible.

3. There’s no built-in functionality for payments, so you will need to use plugins and build it yourself.

4. This is not currently possible.

5. There will be updates for the homepage options in the next version to make it more customizable. Showing top rated recipes on their own group might be also possible in future versions.

6. Yes, by using plugins.

Can this theme be used for industries other than food? i.e are there options to edit all text mentioning food and recipes?

Hello,

You could use the translation to change the words. There are instructions on the documentation how to do this.

So, you aren’t really translating the theme but using the translation feature to change the words you need to change.

Hey there , I updated the theme but now I miss some of my translation how I can fix that ,

Hello,

Unfortunately there were some translatable strings mistakenly removed in the last update.

This will be fixed in the next update which should be available really soon :)

Thank you

getting this error Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /wp-content/themes/recipes/inc/misc.php on line 123

Thank you very much it is working now

Hey , thanks for this great theme , just wanna ask you this theme support rtl language , it come with rtl style sheet , thanks

Hello,

Yes, it supports RTL and comes with a RTL stylesheet.

hi, how can i remove recipe base from URL?

instead of example.com/recipe/recipe-name

-> example.com/recipe-name

Actually i want to remove all bases : Recipe base,Course base, Cuisine base, Skill Level base, Collection base, Recipe Tag base

Hello,

There isn’t built-in functionality on the theme for this, as it’s not really theme territory to manage URLs.

So, you should find a plugin to to this.

Does not work! You install the plugins and give the following error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /home/storage/1/a7/b5/novatoalimentos/public_html/receitasvoelisa/wp-includes/media-template.php on line 1141

As I commented on your review, the error is not from the theme.

I replied to your email.

Hello! Your theme looks awesome and I’m really considering getting it.

Just a quick question: is that possible to configure the number of posts that show per line?

Thanks!

Hello,

No, it’s 5 per line (on max screen size). On smaller devices the number gets lower. You can test it by resizing your browser window.

Actually I might add an option for this in upcoming versions :)

However, I believe it can’t really be more than 6 items per line, as the text line length gets too short for the recipe title, taxonomies etc.

I have an issue on recipes photos. When I have changed icon of template, all recipe pictures on the main page have disappeared. How can i solve this problem?

Changing the logo can’t really affect the other images on the site.

Are you sure you didn’t change anything else before the problem occurred?

no i just changed the logo

Ok, then I have no idea what could be causing this.

If your site is not online yet, could you sent me the source code of a page where the problem occurs. For example the homepage.

You can contact me via my profile page’s contact form.

Hey there,

quick questions: Can you tell me, what parts of your recipes are custom fields or custom taxonomies?

Any plan to add a calculator for adjusting servings?
Any plan to add more deep linking (ingredient archive page)
Can I add an archive for all recipes of a specia skill level or course or collection?
Can I rename course, collection and all their dropdown options?
Could you add a wider version with 6, 8 or 10 columns?

Hello,

Taxonomies: course, cuisine, skill level, collection, tag.

Custom fields: prep time, cook time, servings, external recipe URL, external recipe site title, ingredient lists.

1. No plans to add a calculator.

2. No plans to add a ingredient archive page.

3. These are already working. See for example: http://live.bobosh.com/recipes/course/main-dish

4. Yes.

5. No plans to add more layout options.

Hello , so I have bought the theme and I’m getting this error in the recipes pages :

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/www/caramelizedthoughts.com/wp-content/plugins/recipes-plugin/recipes-plugin.php on line 426

Hello,

Really sorry for the late reply.

Do you have any ingredients on the recipe where the error occurs?

Good afternoon, I would like to ask. Is it possible add plugins on this layout? For example, the calculation of the number of ingredients in portions. And also change the background and the main photo? Thank you for your attention

Hello,

I’m not aware of any plugin which could calculate the ingredients.

Of course you can change the background, and the main photo. Those are just placeholders on the demo site :)

You need to ask from the author of the plugin. All I can say is that this theme doesn’t particularly support that plugin.

Actually looks like it’s using custom fields for the ingredients, just like the theme. So, there might be some problems with that.

Hi, I’m willing to buy your theme but I’m wondering if there is any update on the way ? almost 7 months without update is long… Thanks

Hello,

Yes, I’m planning to update the theme :)

Hi, I was wondering if the photo in the contents of the blog posts or the cover photos lose any resolution when they’re uploaded or if they maintain their full resolution?

Hello,

The resolution for the full sized recipe image is 1440×500.

Blog images are 560 pixels wide. Height is adjusted to match the original aspect ratio of the image.

If the uploaded image is larger than these, the image is resized and cropped (if necessary) to the final resolution.

WordPress image upload also compresses the image a bit. If you want to change the JPEG compression level, you can search for plugins for that :)

Hi, would it be possible to disable the “user” function, i.e. registration/login etc. but keep the “submit recipes” function for visitors to anonymously post recipes?

thanks in advance!

It’s possible. There’s a setting for this in the theme options :)

Hi. i am having some problems with Favorites plugin. It works only for Administrator users. I exactly followed the steps from readme.pdf but nothing, it doesn’t work. http://delicioos.com/ Any idea? Thanks!

Looks like the JavaScript file required by Favorites plugin is not loaded on your site.

Do you have the option “Output Plugin JavaScript” enabled at Settings > Favorites?

http://delicioos.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Screenshot_2016-09-14-12-18-14.png Can you point me the name and the folder where should I find this specific JavaScript file?

What kind of changes have you made to the theme files? Obviously that file should be loaded automatically when you have the option enable.

Is it, or could it, be possible to submit recipes without need of registration in the front-end tab?

It’s possible. There’s a setting for this in the theme options :)

Fantastic, thank you

Hi! I just bought this new theme … is there no dummy data to install?

Also I have dowloaded the MealPlannerPro Recipe Plugin with my “Recipes” theme (I need the nutrition information) and although their icon appears in the existing recipes editor section it won’t recognise the recipes I have created. Can they be integrated into the theme?

Have you enabled registering on your site? Settings > General > Anyone can register

Obviously the register link won’t appear if registering is not allowed :)

You should remove the manually added links Register, and Account from your navigation. Like I said before these links are added automatically.

I can’t provide support for MealPlannerPro. It’s a third-party plugin, and in addition this theme has no specific support for it.

Please see the item support policy here: https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy#whats-not-included-item-support

I dont use OMG lightly but OMG! :o I went through that settings page I dont know how many times and didnt see that option! Thank you again!!! :)

Re the MealPlannerPro, no worries … thanks for checking! :)

Hi. I would like to replace the Description field with Ingredients on Submit Recipe from another site page. I have already made changes in page-submit-a-recipe.php and now the Ingredients field is visible in front-end, but I can’t find the code for showing them on the published recipe, instead of the description part.

http://delicioos.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Untitled-1.jpg Thanks!

Hello,

Sorry for the late answer.

See the lines 71 and 197 of page-submit-a-recipe.php:

if ( $_POST[‘form’] 'submitrecipe' ) {

You should change these to:

if ( $_POST['form'] ‘submitrecipe’ || $_POST[‘form’] == ‘submiturl’ ) {

Could you please reply via my profile page if you have more questions :)

Thank you for the code, with little modification it really did the job. In order to make it work I used if ( $_POST['form'] =='submitrecipe' || $_POST['form'] == 'submiturl' ) { on line 197 of page-submit-a-recipe.php and added a new if statement with if ( $_POST['form'] == 'submiturl' ) { $get_ingredients = $_POST['ingredients']; $ingredients = array(); foreach( $get_ingredients as $item ) { if ( ! array_filter( $item ) ) { continue; } if ( empty( $item['ingredient'] ) ) { $error[] = __( 'Please check the ingredients', 'framework' ); } $ingredients[] = $item; } if ( ! count( $ingredients ) ) { $error[] = __( 'Please add ingredients', 'framework' ); } elseif ( count( $ingredients ) > 3 ) { $ingredient_rows = count( $ingredients ); } } on line 103 because i did not want Directions on my Recipe from another site page I posted this comment here in order to make it useful to others.

Great, good job! :)
