Unfortunately, we are not planning to convert Foodly into other platforms since we specialize only in Shopify development. Moreover, we are devoting all our time to improvements for Foodly Shopify theme so it could constantly evolve into better and better product. As there are only two of us on the team we can’t spread our efforts into different directions. Hope for your understanding and thanks for being one of our customers.

I’m afraid you can’t. There is no WordPress version of Foodly. We have only PSD and Shopify versions.

Thanks so much for your kind words! Unfortunately, we don’t plan to add newsletter builder. Since our main focus is Shopify theme development itself rather than complementary stuff like newsletters. As there are only two of us on the team Olia and Roma, we can’t spread our time and energy into different directions otherwise it’ll be almost impossible to finish anything. Currently, we are working on theme updates, documentation improvements and Theme Manager. Hope for your understanding.

My web client purchased your Foodly theme and as I am not very experienced in Shopify (WordPress my BIGtime strength, but not as good for complex product builds) and I just came off using a VERY frustrating theme (I won’t say the name as their support was amazing, just that w that theme it was so SO hard to figure out basic front page image and text edits/swaps) but then I just started working on my other clients Foodly theme and WOW SO EASY Breazy to work with!! THANK YOU Olia-Roma! #TimeIsMoney and lost so much on my other shopify client/theme build. I see those 2 1 star reviews (NOT COOL!) brought what should be your 5 star overall theme rating down so much because they want to uniquely customize so much (instead of assuming they should have inquired about before purchasing!) As soon as I am done building I will have my client whom purchased it rate 5 BIG Stars!

Curious Olia, I have a new women’s boutique apparel client and had such a great experience building my Tea based client with Foodly (they purchased for me to build with) I was wondering if I purchased my own copy this time, if you could see this working for a great high end women’s apparel site build?

As for your questions, everything depends on what goals they have and what visuals they would love to have on their website. I think the best way would be to consider each case individually and see if Foodly is a good fit for those tasks.

The support staff is incredibly slow to respond, and when they do respond, they reply with 1 sentence, and then you have to wait another 24-48 hours to get a response.

We understand you may have different feelings about the theme you are working with and unfortunately for us, those feelings can be negative. However, it seems to be a lot of exaggeration in what you’re saying here. Support communication is a two-sided process. Hence, the more descriptive support request is the more precise answer can be given. So we recommend being as much descriptive as possible providing links, screenshots and text explanation of the issue.
Also, please, take a look at these there resources that cover support terms to be more aware of what you may expect from support service:

1) I’ve asked why an image is blurry, and the only response is, “you didn’t upload a proper image”. First, I didn’t get any information on where to upload this image if I was to upload it. Second, You didn’t even bother even looking at where my image was uploaded into since I did upload an image, but probably not in the right area. Three, every other theme support here actually DOES it for you and not gives you one sentence on how to do it half heartedly. Your supposedly “dedicated support” is hardly dedicated as those that reply barely have any input and only tell you which “page” to look at in your supposedly “guide for humans”. Everything about your site isn’t easy to use, and the level of customization is small. 2) You claim that you don’t need much coding experience to run your site, hence, “code for humans”, where in reality, all you keep telling me in the email are examples of how I can change and do what I want with some changes in the coding. Instead of helping me DO the changes, you just keep telling me that I must code it myself. Well, if that’s the case, what are you here for? 3) For a customer service to go an insinuate that the buyer is EXAGGERATING is a whole new level of “support”. Good job selling yourself as a helpful company, because all you have done is shove the blame to the customer instead of actually helping me solve my problem, because guess what. You still have not settled my issue.

We wish you had put that much efforts in a constructive description of your issues rather than distributing that much hate. Despite the fact you granted us with 1-star rate, we still here to help you as you are our customer.
Images The reason of blurriness is that image you’re trying to upload has bigger vertical proportions when the section requires wide photo rather than tall. Right now the section has uploaded an image with size 554×660 px it is too narrow width for this particular section. We sincerely advise you to use wide enough (ideally 1992×800px) image if you need this specific section. If you don’t have that type of image please reconsider the layout section you have chosen.
Let us know your situation with images.
Header All available header settings is located in Online Store > Themes > Customize theme > Sections > Header. We strongly recommend looking through this section and if any of the settings might be an alternative to your height request. And right now there is no such default setting as to reduce the height of the homepage navigation bar. Since it was designed that way. The only way to adjust that is via Custom styles as we mentioned before.

Using the boxed template for the product, in the image gallery, the carousel navigation (with thumbnails) is not showing up. We’ve tried using the exported package from visual constructor and the niche pack, with editable sections, and none worked. Check images attached.
By the way, the niche pack is very nice, but we cant choose the way that some components are visually presented. For instance, the way recipes are presented in the homepage, or the slider, etc. You could provide options for each element so we could choose which we prefer.

Thanks for your interest in Foodly Shopify theme! Here’s Foodly documentation. However, it covers work with Foodly theme within Shopify admin. And any customization you’d like to do can be done in Shopify admin. Visual Constructor helps to compose layout from existing elements, that’s it. Right now, it is not clear what you mean by “customization information”. If you provide us with more context we will try reply with some specifics.

Thanks for choosing Foodly theme! The pack you’ve downloaded from Envato Elements differs from the one that is presented on Themeforest. Visual Constructor is not included into Envato Elements pack. Only Themeforest buyers can use Visual Constructor since it is different type of the market place.
Thats really bad. It was not mentioned in envato elements site. All your pages said both are together. I want to use home 3 in my theme. Thats the whole purpose for buying the theme.

Holy WOWness! I just played with the visual drag and drop builder AMAZING! I didn’t know that was possible on Shopify wow… curious, I am not very experienced with Shopify but am working with another top theme designers theme and it is very confusing (I have to open up widgets to edit the html and I am not good at that) Is it easy to create/edit the sections of the home page once we have the visual layout the way we want? Do we have to create all that content first before we can build with template sections? PLS let me know asap (and do you have a walk thru video how the rest of theme/building a site w Foodly works?)

We’ve made everything in our hands to make an experience with Foodly as easy as possible. Moreover, we are constantly working on improving that experience based on customer feedback. Right now we are working on our next update with lots of improvements.
Here’s our support site. It might help you evaluate the complexity of issues people encounter using Foodly. However, it is pretty subjective aspect whether it’s easy or not because it depends on customer background and perception.

And curious, I was playing with the demo again and it says ‘export to shopify’, just curious is it building page by page and exporting from a different platform (your hosting?) and then importing the files into my shopify account page by page? You’re right Export to Shopify option exports a built theme from our hosting. And no, there is no such option to export page by page. Visual Constructor creates a whole theme and exports it a whole entity to Shopify account.
Thanks for pointing on docs. At this moment there is a general help guide how to work with Foodly theme. However, there is no specific documentation on Visual Constructor. But we will consider it in our future updates.
