Looks like a great theme. A pre sales question. I’d need the ability for visitors to create their own listing / pay (PayPal probably) / and me as admin to check / edit the listing before it is published live. Will the theme cope with that? Thanks Tim

Your users can create listings on front-end and you can make payment package by payment addons. ( please have a look at addons information link on this comment ) There is also an option to give approval / pending option for new listings. you can setup pending for new listings and have a look before you approve the new listings.

I’m trying to decide between Javo Spot and Javo Directory. Please help me work out which one I should get.
1. Do your addons work with both themes 2. I like to use other 3rd party WP plugins; which ones better for me 3. Does the free coupon for Advance Single Listing Page addon work with Spot 4. 1. Yes it works both. we use the same (our own) framework.
2. We can’t tell you the 3rd part plugins are working with our theme. You need to test it. it’s all same to all of themes in this market.
3. It’s currently for only javo directory.
4. Javo directory and spots are different user profile pages.
5 It’s only for Javo directory. not spot.
6. Yes, it’s included in javo spot.

thank for you reply. so i’m leaning toward the Javo Directory. Am I able to create my own custom listing types for Parks (playground, gardens, bike tracks, etc.) or do you only allow standard listing types?
also am I able to display the logo/photo and details in the sidebar of the person/company who owns the listing. this may be different to the listing itself. In my case I’m listing parks and places of interest and the photographer will be the owner of the listing and I’d like to display their photo and contact details in the sidebar in addition to the actual listing contact details.
I am not sure what you mean own custom listing types. Do you mean “categories” of listings? if so, you can always modify categories / locations. It’s based on WordPress taxonomies. Like this ( https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/wordpress/wordpress_category.htm )
We don’t have an option to add logos. users can post featured images and they can add theirs own profile photos. they can add logos instead of profile photos.

It’s basically working with google maps. You have to add locations of listings. if not, it won’t show on maps / listings (map panel listings). You can still use block shortcodes to display listings which don’t have google map locations. However, you need to customize it.

How can the html-single-footer-author.php template be overridden in a child theme? It is called by a require_once statement in the parent theme. Template path “javo-spot\library\footer\html-single-footer-author.php”

I have found a bug, If a Listing has multiple Categories each with a custom Map Marker icon, Then it will only serve the First Category icon alphabetically and not using “Primary” option in the category select. please advise?

It’s not a bug. the categories show by alphabets if you have more than one. It’s related with lava manager plugin. Lava team have a plan to add an option for it.

What is the point in providing a PRIMARY option then? – I am not looking support in this forum, I am pointing out to other potential customers that a feature (That feature being the ability to select a Primary Category, has no effect when it comes to publicly showing the listing on the map) you have doesn’t work as expected.
We don’t have “Primary Category” in our theme. It might be from the 3rd part plugin. Please deactivate all of the 3rd part plugins we don’t provide you. The feature is not from our feature in theme. You should show our support team for the details if you still need help. You said you are reporting a bug. Even you found bugs, you still need to talk to our support team to check it out. There can be bugs. But most of them are from the 3rd part issues.

I have contacted Lava Code the Plugin devs who look after the Advanced Listing Plugin That I purchased as a $100 add-on for this theme, and Will ask them if they can See a way of changing the Category that it wont use the Alphabetical sorting. Thank you for explaining that issue with Yoast and I will acknowledge to any other potential users that this isn’t a bug with the theme!
Yes, they will tell you the schedule or how it goes. ( As you may know, they don’t work on weekends. )

Javo Directory V3 uses “Javo Map Framework”. It is very strong and loved by users. This framework is well-made for Google maps with javo post types. It uses “listings” for V3 and can be used for other themes in the future, such as jobs, properties, classifieds, etc. They use basically the same framework but there are some differences, such as design and shortcodes. Javo Spot uses more shortcodes while Javo Directory uses more grids (javo directory has the grid plugin included). You can choose the style that fits your project the best! Please have a look at Javo Spot and directory V3 for more details and each different styles.

Hi, Have you changed the look of your demos since beginning of April? I had taken some screenshots to show a client and now I’m not sure that it’s this theme I was looking at. On the header/slider area it had rounded coloured blocks of the different categories and below that it had the categories again (rounded photo blocks) with the number of items in each category in a coloured circle (the colours matched the blocks on the slider).
the underline on each section of the homepage was a double underline with a diagonal score across the double line.
Does that ring any bells?
I had mocked up the screenshots to show a client and he liked it. Now I’m not seeing what I showed him. (I’d attach a screenshot if I could).
