Hey there Van! :)) I’d just like to write a simple smiling sign
do you have any idea how can it stay like this without changing automatically to a yellow emoticon? haha, sorry for this weird question but I just like these original versions :)))
hahaha!
Not sure because they are automatically rendered, but I use to use this one : )
Anyways, love your comment!
: ) : ) : )
<3
BTW I found a plugin, called ‘disable emojis’ :DDD so problem solved. If anyone asks the same tell them to use this :)) it works completely well with the theme
Thanks for the heads up, Sophie!
im leaning towards buying this theme! do you any examples of real websites that use Calafate? would be great to see!
Hey there,
We have not this ready by now, we´ll look for having something ready during this month : )
Hello Van :)) I think I have made a syntax error in the contact form, anyhow it doesn’t work. Could you please help me figure it out? Also I’d like to ask how can I embed a video from Vimeo so it can be played directly from my page?
Hey Sophie!
About the error your are facing on with your form, please, open a support ticket and provide more related details in order we can help closer. We´ll need to know a little bit more about the issue. Before, just make sure that you are following the documentation steps for you to configure your site contact form.
In case of the Vimeo video, when you want to add a Youtube or Vimeo video, you just need to open the share options for each service and copy and paste the ‘iframe’ option. Once you have the code, make sure that you are pasting in it within the ‘text’ area in your text editor, please, have a look at this short video for you to better understand how embedding works.
I hope you´ll find this useful!
Cheers, Van
hi there, really like this theme! i cant seem to find a preview of your new feature ‘covers’....do you have a link to this? and what would be the recommended dimensions for the individual images used with this feature? thanks
Hey there!
First of all, wanted to thank you because your interest in Calafate. We really appreciate that!
You can see a demo for Covers here and here. As you´ll see, Covers actually provides two different layouts with totally different behaviors for you to choose the one will work better for your contents.
Just let me know if you could have any other related doubt about the theme.
I hope it will help you out!
Best, Van
hi Van, thanks for your speedy reply.
im more interested in the ‘covers’ feature as the home page showcasing my graphic design portfolio. is there a preview of this?
Also, with this covers feature being a home page, can i then have a separate page with my full body of work displayed in say the ‘funky’ format? as my portfolio is too large to all be viewed on the slider.
Also, with the ‘funky format’ can i keep adding thumbnail links to my work, or am i limited to the 14 as seen in the previews. also, can i alter the dimensions of these thumbnails to my own spec/size? so some are not so small
regards,
David
Update: must have missed the preview for covers, just seen it now- looks great!!! if you could answer my other questions, that would be much appreciated.
Hey David!
Yes, as you can see in the demo, in Covers page you can add a CTA (Call To Action) button for you to link wherever you prefer (in the demo is the ‘Go to Website’ text). This can be a page within your portfolio or some page in your site. You are free to configure this as you prefer, for example, you could link your CTA to your ‘funky’ portfolio page.
This page has not limit for you to add as many items/projects you could need. In any case, we do not recommend to add more than 50 items in the same page because browser rendering performance. You can also configure ‘infinite scroll’ or a regular pagination for the portfolio pages. By default ‘infinite scroll’ is the enabled option.
Glad hearing you found Calafate interesting, just let me know if you could have any other doubt or query, ok?
Thanks! : )
This theme is amazing! The Journal – Minimal page, does not respond so well. On an iPad mini, for example, the top few dates overlap the post titles, making them hard to read.. you can see this on desktop too when resizing the browser down to 1024px breakpoint. Is this a known issue?
Otherwise, looks great!
Hey there bradular,
First of all, thank you very much for your interest in Calafate, it is really appreciated it!
We didn’t realize about this detail, it´s possible that it appeared in some update ago. In any case, thank you very much for letting us know, we´ll fix it within the next update cycle.
Cheers, Van

Hi guys,
How are you? When will you update the lightbox problem? thanks!
Hey there TheBasics,
The theme was updated some versions ago with an improved lightbox engine with better mobile support and new zoom features and better performance. So please, make sure that you are using an updated theme version for you to fix and improve any related detail.
In case that you could drive some specific issue with the lightbox system, do not hesitate to open a support ticket and let us know a little bit more.

Hello again, how can i hide the sticky menu? thank you.
Hey there,
You can disable the sticky header in a very easy way, simply open Appearance > Customize > Header. There you´ll find all the related options.
I hope it will be useful!
Cheers, Van
Hi Van,
Isn’t possible to add Hero header to the shop page ?
Best regards
Hey there jucyyy,
You can setup the main shop page with a hero header containing the same kind of content like in case of the other pages within the theme. For this, once you create your shop page, please, review all the related options within the page in order to see all related options.
I hope it will help you out, just let me know if you could have any other related doubt, ok?
Cheers, Van
Thank you for the reply,
When I set up Hero header as the main shop page the hero background doesn’t appear… I don’t know why.
Best regards
By the way I can’t display the google map on the contact page too…I set up the google API and I check “Enable google maps” she is not displayed ! help please
Best
Since this is pretty weird, the best is that you open a support ticket and provide access to your site in order we can better review these issues. You don´t need to do anything special for you to display the maps neither but the steps you point here, so just make sure that you have not installed any plugin that could be in conflict with the theme and could be breaking these features. In any case, open your case in the support area and we´ll follow this up.
Cheers, Van
Love everything about this template altho I am having trouble customizing the sticky headers behavior. I want the header to stay active once it’s passed the first scroll similar to what you find on http://www.npr.org/ but instead the sticky is only active is I scroll up once I scroll down it hides again.
Hey there wingdez,
We are really glad hearing that you are enjoying when creating your project with Calafate!
You can configure your heading for acting in different ways, one behavior is related to the page you show us here as guideline. Just by selecting this option within the related theme options, you´ll stick your site header no matter the scroll up/down, it will be displayed all the time. Please, have a look at this option detail for you to see closer how to configure this element within your site. You´ll find it within Appearance > Customize > Header.
I hope it will help you out!

Missing page magazine (http://heythemers.com/themes/calafate/magazine/) how to get slider?
Hey there,
First of all, thank you very much for your interest in Calafate. You have all the necessary information about how the blog works within the official documentation.
Once you´ll install the theme, you´ll find the related options within Appearance > Customize > Blog. Here you can highlight different posts for you to set them up as featured within the slider when you choose the ‘magazine’ layout.
I hope it will be interesting for your project!
Best, Van
Thank Van,
How do you install 2 blog pages using 2 different grids? http://heythemers.com/themes/calafate/magazine/ and http://heythemers.com/themes/calafate/journal/I have 1 (http://calafate.bbnerds.com/magazine/) I use [calafate_blog style = “minimal” posts_per_page = “6”] for journaling pages (http://calafate.bbnerds.com/journal/) But pagination is disabled. How to fix it?
Thanks!
Hey there,
The two different blog layouts are part of the live preview only for you to see the different options available with the theme as demonstration proposals. You can´t feed them in a isolated way. In case that you would like to use the two blog layouts you should add some custom code via child theme.
If you would like to have some guidelines about how to achieve this implementation, please, open a support ticket and we´ll share with you some steps for you can do something similar. Just have into account that you´ll need a license key in order to get support in our dedicated areas. In this sense, I really recommend you to log in with the user you did the theme purchase.
In any case, I hope you´ll enjoy working with Calafate in your project! : )
Hi – What were the specific v1.3.6 changes? Just curious.
Hey there kaustuva,
We mostly fixed some WooCommerce bugs and improved the grid loading.
Thanks for reaching out!
Hi, is there a way to randomize the portfolio items in the portfolio overview? Thanks in advance.
Hey there teun28,
I´m sorry but the theme does not provide such functionality.
Just let me know if you could have any other theme related doubt. I hope you are enjoying working with Calafate! : )
Thanks for the quick answer! is there a way to change the order of the portfolio items in the portfolio overview?
Sure thing! As we explain within the documentation, the best way for you to order the items within your portfolio grid is by using the popular Post Types Order plugin.
This will allow you to just drag & drop your items as you prefer.
I hope it will be useful! : )
I am having an issue. when you navigate to a page via the menu, the page contents of the page do not show up. however if I physically navigate to the page via url the contents show up. I can show you what I mean but I do not want to share the page links here is there an email address I can reach you at?
Hey there mafness,
Make sure that you are not using any plugin that could have any conflict with the theme. For this, just disable all of them (not the theme plugins) and see how it works. If after disabling the plugins you can see your site working properly, just activate them one by one in order to detect which one could be in conflict.
If checking in this way does not help, please, open a support ticket and provide there a URL to your site in order to we can help with this.
I hope it will be useful!
hi, what code do i use to hide the menu?
Hey there!
If you want to completely hide the menu in your site, you just need to add this custom CSS to your custom styles (Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS):
#site-navigation { display: none; }
This will hide the menu, including the mobile navigation.
I hope it will help you out! : )
very fast reply! thank you, and also, how can i move the logo up to the top?
in this picture, i need the logo the same line as the menu icon…
https://www.dropbox.com/s/19owo7xegadwsmg/Screen%20Shot%202017-07-24%20at%2015.02.19.png?dl=0Sure thing,
In case that you need to move up the logo, you could do something like this:
#site-logo img { postion: absolute; top: -100px; }
Just play with the value in order to better fit your needs here. In any case, this is not the best way for you to accomplish this goal. If you would like to move the complete header near to the top of the window, you should move all the elements together (logo & navigation). This would be something like this:
#site-header { margin: 0; padding: 0; }
Please, try both solutions and see which one works better for you. In case that you could have any related doubt, just let us know and we´ll try to help with! : )
thank you so much again, and last question please, how can i make the logo on mobile bigger?
Of course, do not worry : )
If you need to have more control over your logo size only in mobile devices (the logo auto resizes automatically by default), you can work over this element by adding a media query for these devices, this would look like this:
@media screen and (max-width: 769px) {
#site-logo.image-logo-enabled img {
max-height: 100px !important;
}
}
Just play with the logo size (100px value) in order to better fit your needs.
I hope it will help you out! : )
thank you@ and also, is there any css to move to logo to the left to make it more even on mobile device?
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fyrsas8tks0awr4/Photo%207-24-2560%20BE%2C%2015%2054%2023.png?dl=0Hey there!
If you would like to move your logo to the left side only in mobile devices, you can try in this way:
@media screen and (max-width: 769px) {
#site-logo img { postion: absolute; margin-left: -35px; }
}
I hope it will be useful! : )
Hello I would like to use Lightbox in a page and it works perfectly. I just want to know how can I have different Lightbox gallery.
I mean I have several groups of 3 images and when I click on one image i want to see only the group of this image and not all the images of the page.
I though I just had to change rel=”gallery” to rel=”gallery01” / rel=”gallery02” ... but nothing change, I see all images of the page when I open my lightbox
thank you
Hey there!
The gallery engine can handle galleries within the same page but at this moment I´m not sure which method would be better to handle different galleries in the same page. We would need to review this closer in order to provide you a better response on this regard. So please, open a support ticket with this requirement and we´ll study if we can help with it.
I hope it will be useful!
PS. I´m sorry for my delayed response. We are doing an small break for summer holidays and support timings could increase a little bit more these days until next July 30th. So thank you very much for your patience and understanding!
Ok thank you i just did it !!! hope you can help
hi just to ask you another question about sliders, how can I add caption for each images in my slider ?
and i would like to know if with the new update we always can have only a slider per page, like my question at the top of this post ?
thank you
Hey there!
You can add any caption for your images by using the dedicated field for this. When adding a picture within the content editor, just click over and you´ll see the different options available for you to edit this image, please, see this attached screenshot for you to better understand how to do this. And here you can see a detail about the field you need to use for adding captions to your images.
About the different lightbox galleries within the same page, unfortunately this is not possible. Once you start adding images within the lightbox engine in a single page, all the images within this page included within the lightbox will be part of the same ‘gallery’. There is not any way for segmenting these images within the same page, I´m sorry.
Please, check these details out and let me know if you could have any related doubt, ok?
Cheers, Van
hi thanks a lot for your answer, i’ve caption now
and ok about multiple sliders in one page !!! all is clear for me now
Great to hear that! Just a detail, I understood that you wanted to create different galleries within the lightbox engine, but now I understand that you want to add different sliders within the same page content, which is totally possible, you could add as many content sliders as you could need. Just in case that your query was related to this!
Thanks for reaching out!
yes thank you, have you an exemple who will help me to understand what you mean with different sliders ?
Because i’m working on a page with different paragraphs. Each paragraph have a slider with images, and my goal is to have a unic and separate slider by paragraph, because with only one unic slider for all paragraphs, visitors will see all images without noticing that they look images from the next paragraph for example. hope you understand what i mean
Yes, I understood initially that you wanted to mix galleries within the lightbox system, I´m sorry for the mistake.
You can add as many sliders you could need, one for each dedicated paragraph. Even, if you would like, you can add a ‘lightboxed’ image for each element within the slider. Please, check this project out for you to see this functionality in detail. You´ll find the slider at the end of the content, if you click the images, they will be loaded within the lightbox in a bigger size. Also, notice that your slider size can be handled with the content builder tools, just add your slider within a column, set the width and you are done.
Please, let me know if you could have any related doubt or I did not explained myself well, ok?
I hope you´ll find this useful!
Best – Van
Ok if I understand you talk about the last slider, “Palettes & blacks …”
it can be nice answer to my question, because we can have multiple images for one slider, but can we go to left and right to see the all images when we are in lightbox, instead of to see only one image at the time in lightbox ?
if we can this swipe left and right in lightbox, this slider can totally works for me
Sure thing, if you add the ‘link rel gallery’ within your image ‘Advanced Options’ (please, see attached here), you´ll include the image within a lightbox gallery. So, you can add an image within an slider (with as many sliders you could need per page) and add each slide item to work with the lightbox engine and also include each image within a unique lightbox gallery.
Just let me know if you could have any related doubt, I hope that I got to explain myself better now!
Best – Van
thanks a lot for your answer, I don’t have same details like your screen in my wordpress to custom my slider as you explain me
so i’m directly using HTML screen to writte my code.
if I want to add a slider gallery, i use this part of code but it doesn’t work for me, i don’t have a gallery but only one image at the time with lightbox.
Here is my code :
[calafate_content_slider]
[calafate_content_slide]
<a href="http://www.mydomaine.ovh/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/pin01.jpg" rel="gallery001">
<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1428" src="http://www.mydomaine.ovh/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/pin01.jpg" alt="01" />
</a>
[/calafate_content_slide]
[calafate_content_slide]
<a href="http://www.mydomaine.ovh/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/pin02.jpg" rel="gallery001">
</a>
[/calafate_content_slide]
[calafate_content_slide]
<a href="http://www.mydomaine.ovh/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/pin03.jpg" rel="gallery001">
</a>
[/calafate_content_slide]
[/calafate_content_slider]
Hey there!
Please, open a private support ticket and provide admin access to your site and I´ll create an slider example with this functionality for you to see how to better create these elements
ah sorry, i worked on without seeing your last comment, i found the same screenshot now but i have the same link rel for all images inside my slider but i still can’t slide left or right
Hey there!
Please, open a support ticket with access to your site in order to we can review this better and understand how your configuration is and better help on this regard.
I hope it will be useful!
Best – Van
oki you are right ;D
Hi guys, I think I found a bug. If you set a page as having an own unique color scheme, then the background color of the captions don’t show up.
Hey there excesscaravan,
Thank you very much for sharing with us this detail. Will check this out and study if this could be a bug and fix it within the next update cycle.
We hope that you are enjoying Calafate!
Thanks! : )
Hello,
First of all, thanks for this beautiful theme!
When using the full-page cover hero, is it possible to avoid the black image background all together and have the first project active on load? Obviously the projects would have to remain active until the following link is hovered.
The reason I ask this is that I’d like to avoid the background transaction to black when hovering on the project links on desktop.
Thanks!
Hey there!
First of all, thank you for using Calafate in your project. It is really appreciated it!
Regarding your question, we need to update the demo in order to better reflect how this functionality works. You can set up a default background image (not only a background color). In this way, you can avoid this detail you are referring to here.
Please, play with the different options related to Covers and let us know if you could have any related doubt, ok?
PS. I´m sorry for my delayed response. We are doing an small break for summer holidays and support timings could increase a little bit more these days until next July 30th. So thank you very much for your patience and understanding!
Hi,
Great, thanks. Once I’ve purchased the theme it all made sense! Just one more question on Covers. When I hover on a project title, the background image appear to be at around 90% opacity. Is there any way to make it 100%?
Thanks!
Hey there!
So great that you finally go with Calafate, we really hope that you´ll enjoy building your project, please, let us know if you could have any related doubt in order to we can help with!
About the opacity doubt involved with Covers, not sure at all what you refer to, here you can see the demo and when you hover every item, the images just displays 100% opaque, you can´t see any opacity. Please, could you confirm that we are talking about the same detail? I´ll try to help better because at this moment I´m not sure which detail we are discussing about.
Let´s follow this up! : )
Hi,
Yes, we are talking about the same detail
I chose to have no initial background, and just use solid black instead. When I hover on the text project links, the project image which appears is slightly faded out to black. I’ve double-checked the demo link you have sent, and the issue doesn’t happen there. Just as a test, I’ve tried setting the initial background as a picture and the problem disappeared.
So, to summarise, it seems that if an initial background image is set, everything is fine. If a solid background colour is set, than the project link images appear to be slightly transparent.
Do you know if I could fix this? If not, no problem. I can always set an initial background image.
Thanks!
Hi again,
In case that you would like to setup Covers to work in 100% opacity in your site, please, open a support ticket and provide a URL for us to check your configuration and we can guide you to setup this behavior to your expectations.
I hope it will be useful! : )
Hola que tal? Estoy traduciendo mi website con WPML (www.wearelowpoly.com) pero al traducir el Home no me muestra los trabajos del portfolio que si me muestra en el Home original. Por que esta pasando esto? Hay manera de solucionarlo?

Is there any shortcut/trick some more practical way to switch all fonts to a single @fonteface font?
Hey there telias,
I´m sorry to say that there is not any shortcode/trick for you to use @font-face. This is a CSS rule that you need to implement in your custom CSS in case that you need to use it.
First, you need to upload your fonts related to the typeface you want to use in your site. To add a custom font based in @font-face in a WordPress theme, please, follow these steps:
1. Upload the font file on your server via a FTP client. Make sure that you upload all proper formats, namely eot, woff, ttf & svg. These are all required for perfect browser compatibility.
2. Go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS code area or use a Child Theme to insert the font face declaration of your new font.
Here’s an example:
@font-face {
font-family:"MyFont";
src: url('http://yoursite.com/font-folder/MyFont.eot'); /* IE9 Compatibility Modes */
src: url('http://yoursite.com/font-folder/MyFont.eot?') format('eot'), /* IE6-IE8 */
url('http://yoursite.com/font-folder/MyFont.woff') format('woff'), /* Modern Browsers */
url('http://yoursite.com/font-folder/MyFont.ttf') format('truetype'), /* Safari, Android, iOS */
url('http://yoursite.com/font-folder/MyFont.svg#svgMyFont') format('svg'); /* Legacy iOS */
}
3. Replace the theme fonts with your own custom font in this CSS code for example:
.your-selected-class { font-family: 'MyFont', serif !important; }
Basically this is the way for you to implement @font-face in any site. You also have the option to implement it by using some plugin for this propose. But I really encourage you to follow these guidelines to better implement it, have a cleaner code and a better control at the end. It is really easy and it will provide you plenty of possibilities. Remind, web design is 90% typography : )
