Hi I just tried to install TownPress on a brand new Wordpress install via the THEME Upload feature. And it uploads but I get a screen on the wpadmin interface that says are you “suure you weant to do this” Though I dont get a way to press ton continu on retry and the thing loops

you are either uploading a wrong file or there is something wrong with your server settings. Make sure you are installing it in the way described in the documentation. If that fails, then install it via FTP.

Is it possible to alphabetize the document lists? Currently documents are sorted via upload date, but we need them to be able to be sorted alphabetical.

Current header colour is #008000
Use the same code just replace the RGB code (“144,97,7”) with the new one. You can convert your hex code (008000) to RGB here.

Since the update, the pages don’t seem to be loading correctly. (See cityofexeter.com) The menu backgrounds don’t appear and other headings seem to be off, as though something is wrong with the style sheet, but I can’t seem to find the error. Any idea how to fix?

there is something wrong about your custom skin CSS. Either disable it under Theme Options or check out the wp-content/themes/townpress-child/library/css/customskin.css file since it appears to be blank.

Hi, I purchased the theme and I tried to install it according to your manual but received the WP message “Are you shure you want to do this?” (in German as I use the German version of WP). A click on the retrial link lead to no success. What could be wrong?!
Tried to upload with Filezilla now what was successful, but now I have the problem that the childtheme (which IS installable) does not ‘find’ the parent theme even though I had already activated the theme Townpress, What to do?

it sounds like there may be something wrong with your server settings. Are you running PHP 5.6 with at least 64MB of memory? If you do then please send me your wp-admin credentials via PM and I will take a look at it.

I've just checked it out but honestly, I've never experienced such issue. Try to remove the child theme and install it via FTP as well (if you haven't tried it already). The child theme is required only if you want to do some code customization, if you won't, then you don't really have to use it.

Hello, Trying to update the Theme, and have been following the documentation. At the step where I should be able to select the Parent theme and delete it, the “delete” button is not present. I am active on the Child Theme, which is the one I am using for the site. I tried activating the Parent, then back to the Child, but still unable to delete the Parent theme to update it. All of my other themes show the “delete” line on the lower right corner of the theme info box.
Also, along this line, is the a way to automate updates or must I always manually delete then re-install?

Correct. BTW, you do not have to update the child theme, that would be actually against its purpose.
Is there a way to change order of slides in home slider without rebuilding the slider?

make sure you are running PHP 5.6+ and you are using the latest version of the theme (1.5.4).
You will have to use an account with which the theme was purchased to get any further support. For example, you can ask your client to send me PM with your email address.

Hi, I am sorry but I’ve never experienced such issue. Do you have this issue when you use a default theme like Twenty Seventeen (and create some default menu there)? If no, then try to open function.php file in TownPress theme root and remove lines 356 and 330 to see if it makes any change.

Your editor probably opens it in a different way then mine. Just remove both lines which contains “nav_menu_css_class”.
However, did you tested the issue on Twenty Seventeen?
Breadcrumbs won’t work for 3rd party plugins except bbPress.

That is how the WordPress treats standard posts. It has nothing to do with the theme. Just switch to TwentySeventeen theme and it will be the same.
I am sorry but I can’t help you with issues with 3rd party plugins.
Also, the Articles element will display only standard posts, so if you’ve created your own post type, that won’t work.
