Will this theme work with the block editor if it did and still have some of it’s features that would be great!!
Hey joshuanet,
Apologies for the delayed response. You should be able to use the Gutenberg editor just fine in Cedar, and can use the Shortcode editor block to use the themes built-in shortcodes. We also have an update planned to bring our ‘Ecko Blocks’ plugin to Cedar, which replaces shortcodes.
I installed the theme yet I don’t see comments or an option to add a comment. I’ve enabled the “Allow comments” in the posts. Did I miss anything?

does it support 3er level menus ? and Polylang different lang menu ? thanks
Hey Filas,
Thanks for your interest in Cedar.
Cedars navigation supports a depth level of two, so this would be a single drop-down level.
As for translations and multilingual plugins, we follow the WordPress standard for internationalization (POT files), so any plugin which supports this method should function without issue.
On your demo frontpage you have a logo as title, how did you do that? Just using img tags in the place of the title?
Hey sanderdatema,
You can assign a logo for your blog using the included customizer options, found under the ‘Site Identity’ section. There are also additional logo options for the various theme sections, such as the cover and header bar if you wish to use a specific logo in these areas.
If you have any further questions or need further assistance with this please create a ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist.

is the full width image and contrast shortcode removed in the newer version of cedar?
Hey joshuanet,
We made some changes to how shortcodes work in Cedar v4 (released several months ago), however both of these shortcodes are still available in Cedar, as can be seen in our live demo.
You can access these shortcodes via the post editor tool, under the ‘Cedar Shortcodes’ section.
If you need any assistance with this or have any further questions please create a new ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist.
I had to ask here because I am out of support at the moment. But when I look at my shortcodes this is what I see – https://imgur.com/a/lJh2C
I am using a child theme would that make a difference?
Hey joshuanet,
Ensure the text-domain within your child theme matches the parent theme. We include a child-theme within the theme archive that you can use for reference.
man I did as you said and got this -
/* Theme Name: Cedar Child Theme Theme URI: http://ecko.me Description: This is a custom child theme for Cedar. Author: EckoThemes Author URI: http://ecko.me Template: cedar Version: 1.0.0 Text Domain: cedar / / ADD CUSTOM CSS BELOW */ Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/karloncc/public_html/wp-content/themes/cedar-child/functions.php:15) in /home/karloncc/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1210
Hey joshuanet,
I have just tested this – both the included child theme and shortcodes menu are functioning correctly. I recommend reinstalling your child-theme, using our included child-theme as your starting point.
If the issue persists please create a ticket on our support site.

As you can see in the screenshot, Korean characters get garbled right before (...) in the next post link.
