Hi , How do we use the tabs. Description is completed, but how do we add content in a new tab called “Whats included” for example, but I want to customise for each product

Hello!

I”m using the Vela demo templates and can’t find the plug in. Can you help point me in the right direction? i need it asap! Thank you!

I’m going to double check the documentation package and see if I missed something there -

Got it figured out – no longer need support!

I’m sorry for my late reply! Anyway, happy to hear that you’ve figured it out.

Hi!

The images in the Vela Clients Carousel don’t have and Alt tag even if I set an Alt tag in the Media Libary. This is not realy good from the SEO view. Any ideas how I can attach an Alt tag to this images?

Best regards,

Manuel

Of course, the Gravatar image is a built-in WordPress feature, it is not included in the theme. The code in the functions.php in the theme should be related to the theme features. So, I would recommend you to add that code to functions.php in your child theme instead.

Wouldn’t it be a nice feature for all Vela Users? That’s the way that I was thinking about …

Thank you for your suggestion! We will look into this.

Hi on my site http://elmnt13.com/the-portfolio/ the portfolio had the categories on top now it just says “All” at the top. How do I get the categories to all show?

First of all, you’re using the old version of WordPress and Visual Composer. It might be a compatibility issue because everything seems to work fine on our demo sites that are running on the latest update of WordPress and the theme.

I would recommend you to update your WordPress site and the theme including all bundled plugins to the latest update to make sure they will work properly and be compatible with other plugins. You can find more details about the theme update in the changelog: https://themeforest.net/item/vela-responsive-business-multipurpose-theme/9793377#item-description__update-log

If you did but it still doesn’t work, it might be a plugin conflict issue. Try to deactivate other plugins to see if it works.

Hi, I have installed the dummy content (https://wydethemes.com/vela5/) on 2 separate websites, and on both, when you go to the About page, the title image doesn’t show (I haven’t changed any settings, and can see in the title image area at the bottom of the bakery pagebuilder screen that “image” has been selected, with a link to this image: http://wydethemes.com/vela5/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/picture-0731.jpg

When I compare the developer tools (I am using Chrome) on my site with how it looks on wydethemes/vela5, I can see that the following code is missing:

div class=”bg-image” style=”background-image: url(“https://wydethemes.com/vela5/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/picture-0731.jpg”); transform: translate3d(0px, -36.0446%, 0px);”

Everything else looks identical to the code on the Wyde demo site.

I have tried adding different images in the title area box, but whatever I do, it always only shows a black box where the title image should be, with About Me in white letters.

I have also I tried uploading a video in the title area – again, the video doesn’t display, only a black box.

Please advise!

This issue has been fixed in Vela 2.0.3. You will need to update the theme to fix it.

However, if you did but it still doesn’t work, please give me your site URL.

That’s fixed it – thank you for the speedy response :)

Hi I have a problem with the top menu it’s not work anymore on google chrome can you tell me what to do ? I have not been working on it for months on admin or FTP. I did the update Wordpress but no change ??

I installed Envato Market plugin only impossible to update the theme Version 1.8.5 while the registered plugin “Update Available “but when I click nothing happens and it does not propose to update WPBakery Visual Composer Version 4.11.2 is this normal? Thank you and sorry for my english

If you have set the Envato Market plugin correctly, you will see a notification message in the Vela theme in Appearance -> Themes, click on the update link to update it. Try to check the Envato Market plugin settings or regenerate API Token to see if it works.

If it doesn’t work, you will need to manually update it to the latest update (2.0.3.1) that comes with Visual Composer 5.4.5 and Wyde Core 2.6.

You can find more details on how to manually update the theme in our documentation.

it works thank you very much I think it took a little time ..

Hey, what is wrong with your theme? I’m trying to update the theme via envato market and is saying that “demo.wydethemes.com’s server IP address could not be found.” Can you do something with that?

This is not a theme issue. When you update the theme by using Envato Market plugin, it will download the new update from ThemeForest, not from “wydethemes.com” server.

It sounds like there was something wrong on the Envato Market plugin settings. Actually, if the have setup that plugin correctly you will see an update link in the Vela theme in Appearance -> Themes. You can click on that link to update it. Try to check the Envato Market plugin settings and regenerate your API token to see if it works.

However, you can update the theme manually if the automatic update doesn’t work. You can find more details on updating the theme in our documentation.

Hi I have a problem with the top menu it’s not work anymore on google chrome can you tell me what to do?

You have seen it, on top comment I found already the solution, I need to update the theme but now I have a problem with the update… It’s saying “demo.wydethemes.com’s server IP address could not be found.”

That is a jQuery ScrollTo issue. It has been fixed in the Vela 2.0 so you will need to update the theme to fix it.

If you update the theme by using Envato Market plugin, it will download the new update from ThemeForest, not from “wydethemes.com” server.

Actually, if the have setup that plugin correctly you will see an update link in the Vela theme in Appearance -> Themes. You can click on that link to update it. Try to check the Envato Market plugin settings and regenerate your API token to see if it works.

After theme update author pages are causing an error 500:

2018/01/15 16:21:51 [error] 17964#17964: *75573 FastCGI sent in stderr: “PHP message: PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘vela_set_sidebar_position’ (T_STRING) in /home/wp/disk/wordpress/wp-content/themes/Vela/author.php on line 15” while reading response header from upstream, client: 5.147.129.197, server: www.lemonbeat.com, request: “GET /author/gstradal/ HTTP/2.0”, upstream: “fastcgi://unix:/var/run/wordpress.php-fpm.sock:”, host: “www.lemonbeat.com”

Any ideas how to fix it?

Thanx!

My apology! This is a bug of the theme.

Thank you for reporting this issue, we will release the new update within 24 hours.

Hello, Was wondering the best way to update Vela Wordpress theme? Would I do that by overwriting files via FTP, or is there a way to update through Wordpress CMS? My purchase code is: 8559e8c3-ac68-4772-9718-e148f7d3f98e

Thank you!

Chris Luke

Sure, you can update it through your WordPress admin page and this is the best way.

However, you will need to install the Envato Market plugin to enable the automatic update feature so you can automatically download and install the new update from Appearance -> Themes on your WordPress admin page.

You can find more details on how to setup the Envato Market plugin in our documentation. If you couldn’t find the automatic update section. That means, you are using the old version of the documentation. You will need to download the new update in the Downloads tab on ThemeForest. Find the Vela theme and choose “All files & documentation” to download.

Once you extract the zip file, you will see our documentation inside the package.

Thanks so much for the reply! Much appreciated. Keep up the great work.

You are welcome :)

I just updated to WordPress version 4.9.1 and now I’m unable to use the Visual Composer on my pages. I’ve tried it in various browsers without any luck. Seems like it’s just timing out or something. I no longer have support, but this seems like something that should be addressed whether I have support or not. Anyone else having this issue?

The old version of the Vela theme and Visual Composer are not compatible with the new update of WordPress. You will need to update the theme and Visual Composer to fix this issue. You can find more details in the changelog: https://themeforest.net/item/vela-responsive-business-multipurpose-theme/9793377#item-description__update-log

Don’t worry, you always have support. You can always download the new update of the theme from your Downloads tab. If you have the Envato Market plugin installed on your site, you can automatically download and update the theme from Appearance -> Themes. You can find more details on updating the theme in our documentation.

Hi there!

When I navigate to the category view using the category navigation, the first item on the page is partly covered bei the header bar and the black triangle with the H1 page title is missing.

https://www.lemonbeat.de/download/catnav01.jpg

https://www.lemonbeat.de/download/catnav02.jpg

Any ideas how to solve this?

Best regards,

Manuel

Hi and thanx for support! But I don’t want to choose a default blog page in Settings -> Reading because I build my own blog page with the VELA: Blog Post element. When I use this page and use the category navigation I still have no black header triangle in the category view.

You don’t need to use default Posts page as your blog page but you will need to choose default Posts page so you can customize the look of the category and other archive pages in the settings of that page.

So, you should create a blank page and then set it as Posts page in Settings -> Reading.

Ahh, O.K. I will try that. Thanx for support!

Tried to update to Version 2.0.3, made all of my portfolio page have a 404. Checked permalinks, saved, got the portfolio pages back but custom slug of “services” is not working, reverting to portfolio-item. Tried everything in comments, any suggestions?

Thank you!

Please ensure that you have already updated Wyde Core plugin to the latest update (2.6).

After you update the theme, you will see a notification message to install the new update of Wyde Core and other bundled plugins. Click on the link in that message to update them.

You can find more details on how to update those plugins in our documentation.

It was an issue with my custom single-portfolio.php, thanks!

Glad to hear that you’ve figured it out :)

Hi there,

Please go to https://wydethemes.com/vela1/here-goes/ on Mobile version (i am using iPhone 7)

Inside a Single Post, scroll down to the “Previous Post” / “Next Post” and “Related Posts” section on the Mobile. This area is a bit messy on the theme in terms of Image Blocking Post Title & all Text not being readable. Is there a fix for this as I am also experiencing similar issue on my own website using the Vela theme.

Thank you. Ryan

Hi there!

My apologies, this is a bug of the theme on mobile.

Thank you for reporting this issue, we will fix it in the next update.

Anyway, you can fix it right now by adding custom CSS below to Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS:

#content .related-posts li .thumb {
    height: auto;
}

I’m getting this

Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/msmhost2015/public_html/wp-content/themes/Vela/functions.php on line 373

This is a compatibility issue. It sounds like your WordPress site is running on the old version of PHP. This theme and bundled plugins are compatible with PHP 5.6 and greater. Also, the recommended version of PHP for WordPress are PHP 7.2 or greater as you can see in WordPress system requirements: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

So, you will need to upgrade your server PHP to the newest version that is available on your web hosting.

I have done that and now have the latest PHP version but things are still not working and I still can’t use WPBakery-Visual Composer. This started with the Wordpress Update, although pieces of WPBakery were missing before that.

You are using the old version of the Vela theme that is not compatible with the new update of WordPress and WPBakery Page Builder. You will need to update the theme to the latest update (2.0.3).

Since updating WordPress, we are unable to use WPBakery 4 (Visual Composer) on our Vela theme – the edit boxes will not load the content once they are selected. I’ve already contact WPBakery and been told that it’s an issue with the theme and that I need the fix from the author.

Are you able to help?

Thanks!

This is a compatibility issue. It sounds like you are using the old version of the Vela theme so it is not compatible with the new update of WordPress and the Visual Composer plugin.

Please ensure that you have updated the theme to the latest update (2.0.2), you can find more details in the changelog: https://themeforest.net/item/vela-responsive-business-multipurpose-theme/9793377#item-description__update-log

I would recommend you to install the Envato Market plugin to enable the automatic update feature so you can automatically download and install the new update from Appearance -> Themes on your WordPress admin page.

You can find the instructions on how to setup the Envato Market plugin in our documentation.

If you’d like to update it manually, you will need to download the new update from the Downloads tab on ThemeForest. Choose “All files & documentation” to download the Vela theme. Once you extract the zip file, you will see our documentation inside the package. Please follow the instructions in our documentation on how to update the theme.

WPBakery 4 is not working in our Vela theme. I purchased WPBakery 5 and loaded it, but the entire site when white. So that wasn’t a solution. Please help.

I’m sorry but the theme support is only available for users who have purchased our themes. Please contact us from the account that purchased the Vela theme to make sure you’re currently in the correct product page that corresponds to what you have purchased.

my client purchased the theme. anyway. I purchased WP Bakery and I want to move that under her account. she’s the client. How do I move it?

The old version of the Vela theme is not compatible with the new update of WP Bakery Page Builder plugin. You will need to update the theme to get the new version of WP Bakery Page Builder, as you can see in the changelog: https://themeforest.net/item/vela-responsive-business-multipurpose-theme/9793377#item-description__update-log

Hi, I was using an older Vela theme, but recently purchased the same Vela theme to get the latest update. I was updating the theme via the Envato Market Update Plugin. I clicked on updating and it was uploading, but I got the following fatal error. I can’t access the website or wordpress admin login. Please help.

Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/docupace16/public_html/wp-content/themes/Vela/functions.php on line 373

Hi, I’m having issues with the WP Bakery Builder. When I go to edit elements within the visual composer (for instance Single Image) the pop up screen does not load. The loading circle just spins and nothing ever opens. Never had an issue before, this has just started happening… My VC is activated and I’m using the demo theme, trying to edit the elements within the demo pages and not working. I’ve had WP Bakery Builder investigate and it is an issue with the theme. It works on the standard themes that come with wordpress. Please help!

If you haven’t installed the Envato Market plugin yet. You will need to download the new update and documentation in the Downloads tab on ThemeForest: https://themeforest.net/downloads

Find the Vela theme, choose “All files & documentation”. Once you extract the zip file, you will see the new update of the theme and our documentation. Please follow the instructions on how to install the Envato Market plugin in our documentation so you will be able to update the theme automatically from Appearance -> Themes in your WordPress admin page.

Also, you can follow the instructions on how to update the theme manually in our documentation if you’d like.

Thank you so much!! Your help has been greatly appreciated. Everything is working perfect now. :)

You’re welcome :)

Hi, Please ensure that you have updated the Vela theme to the latest update. I just tried it on our demo site, it seems to work fine.

It would be easier if I can investigate this issue on your site. Could you please provide me your temp admin login so I can take a better look?
