I highly encourage that you read the documentation, it would help you a lot.

1. To set up the featured slider, go to Appearance > Widgets > Drag the “[Kappa] Featured Posts” widget into the “Featured” widget area.

In the settings for the “[Kappa] Featured Posts” widget you can set which posts you want to show. You have the option to show posts from a specific category, tag or even post ID’s.

2. To set up the head banner, go to Appearance > Widgets > Drag the “Image” widget into the “Header” widget area.

I used get_the_author() function, not the_author(), the code can be found in kappa/inc/template-tags.php, at line 54, however I just made that change, you can override this file into kappa/inc/ folder, I will update it into a next update.

To add the post view text, you would need to modify the theme manually, I suppose that you use the Post Views Counter plugin, it supports [post-views] shortcode.

Here I am again finally getting to this. I just renewed support. I’ve done everything as you list above but still doesn’t work. No prompt to update the theme so I guess it’s just not connecting. Do you have a place I can submit a ticket? Also, how does the theme work with WordPress 5.x?

The problem is WordPress didn’t crop these images as defined size (650×450px), so they aren’t appearing as expected.

Just for testing, I downloaded your images and uploaded them onto my WP in localhost by using Chrome browser, they were the same as yours, somehow, WP couldn’t crop them as expected, but they worked fine when I downloaded them by using Firefox, I guess something goes wrong with these images, I’m not sure why but I don’t think WP or the theme is causing the issue.

And another issue when I downloaded the images on Chrome and Opera, they were saved as .webp format, not .png, as I have known so far, the webp format works on Chrome only.

That’s so strange, you might try what I suggested on Firefox.

Apologies, I thought it was an error with the theme but my hosting service managed to fix the issue. I do have 1 question at the moment now that everything is back to normal.

I highly encourage you to read the documentation for setting up the theme, it has all things you need.

To setup the front page, go to Settings > Reading and set “Your homepage displays” to “Latest Posts”, there you can also determine how many posts you want to show per page by changing the “Blog pages show at most” option.

And you would need to setup the menu, featured and a few widgets in the primary sidebar, you might use the Widget Importer & Exporter plugin to import these widgets, the demo widget file can be found in data folder in the purchase package, named widgets.wie, otherwise you can easily drag and drop these widgets into appropriate sidebars.

The styling looks strange, anyway I suggest you to write your changes to the Custom CSS field, so the changes won’t be lost when updating the theme.

You can try this css snippet to the Custom CSS field as suggested, you might change the color if you wish.

That worked beautifully. I didn’t realize that the “Additional Information” tab and the “Review” tab also required a different code to change the color to white. I’m trying to figure that part out now.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m trying to get the blog post preview on the main page longer. I see in the options where you can change it between short description or full entry. I have it set on short description however its only 2 sentences long. I wanted to change it from looking like this http://prntscr.com/j2x5hs to being a longer description like you have on the preview here http://prntscr.com/j2x47q

We have two options for customizing post excerpt length:

1. If you check on the “Full entry content” checkbox on theme options panel, then you can use the more tag.

2. If you uncheck the “Full entry content” checkbox, then you can enter the short description to the “Excerpt” field, otherwise WP will automatically create the post excerpt based on full content in defined length, by default the excerpt length is set to return 55 words, in this case you can use this plugin to increase the length.

The review box displays all the review criteria, it was designed for this purpose , keep in mind that you can enter the criteria by manually, you could always enter the same score but with different criteria name, do not enter the same score with the same name, it does not make sense, right?

Anyway if you want to hide entire criteria, you can paste this css to Theme Options > General > Custom CSS field:

.review-criteria {
    display: none;
}
