Pre-Purchase Question about FORM VALIDATION…..
Just viewed this themes docs, the form validation section, and see that the following validations are possible: validate-required, validate-email, validate-number-dash
What I need to do is validate a field for a MINIMUM NUMBER value. For example, my form will say: Type your offer for this domain name: (min offer $1,200) __
Is there a validation type for this? Thank you!

If this is uploaded to a directory on my host, and I create the page there online.. does it just simply save it to a directory there online? Or do I have to export it, then essentially, unpack it, reupload it again? I really want ability to simply create the page, click save and it spit me out a final URL. Can this do this?

Hey guys! love this theme so far. Only issue i’ve got is making the footer stick to the bottom of the page. When i adjust the CSS file, it messes everything else up. Just wondering if you’ve got a work around this.

Did you mean you wanted the footer to be fixed to the bottom of the page? If so, you could add some CSS to the custom.css file with a rule to make it position fixed.

I fear this may be an issue with your Ticksy account as we have had others submitting tickets for days now (since the Ticksy outage) without any issues. You may need to sign up again in order to correct the problem.
To change the font family for the whole website you’ll need to include the font using the @font-face rule, then on the body element you can change the font-family property.

No, Variant does not save to a server – you should use Variant builder locally on your machine then copy the pages to your hosting after the HTML is generated by Variant.

Got it James. And if I want to save my work (building the landing page) so I can resume working on it the next day, could I do that?
Pages are stored in local storage in your browser, so next time you open it, your pages will be accessible. We recommend exporting to a .variant file after each session to ensure you won’t lose your work due to a browser cache clearing or similar event.

Hi, Stack HTML version is a website template and cannot be installed into WordPress, whereas the WordPress theme can be installed to WordPress.

WordPress version has a different demo. What you see in the demo is what you get – but HTML templates require a little more “do it yourself” as there is no content management system such as WordPress.

I would like to buy your theme, but I want to ask a few questions.
1. Can I have a responsive full page map for my home page? I want to display at least 30 locations with a marker that is clickable with text and link to the another page.
2. Can I completely disable the builder? I have heard that builders might slow down the overall page speed.

Yes you can achieve anything with the map, however Google limits to 10 concurrent address lookups. Yes you can use Stack without Variant, however Stack’s performance is not affected by Variant, since Variant simply outputs clean, fast HTML. No extra HTML is produced by using Variant.
Additionally, scripts are only included in the page if you use an element that requires that script.

Thanks for your response. I have one more question.
I am going to use only one image for my home page. No slider. So, I will use 1920×1080 for the desktop. As the screen gets smaller, I want this image to scale proportionally. I want to preserve the aspect ratio of the image, so the image is not cropped on other screens. Is it possible to do?
I could not find a demo page that fits my need for that purpose. Could you please confirm it will work the way I want?

Hi,
This is possible. The easiest way to keep something in ratio is to use CSS viewport units. The ratio of 1920:1080 translates to 1:0.5625. To set your image to keep that ratio, you would need to set it’s width to 100vw (100% viewport width) and the height to 56.25vw (56.25% viewport width).
Otherwise if the ratio is not important, you can use a background-image-holder which will span the width of the browser and spread your image into it. (like you see in the slider).
Either way, yes it will be possible to achieve what you need.

Hello! We generated another Word Press theme in the format ”.variant”. Is it possible to import it into Word press panel?
Sorry, but .variant files from the HTML version cannot be imported into the WordPress version of Stack.

You can use Variant locally on your machine – but you can’t publish directly from the builder to your hosting. For that you’d need to use an FTP client.

Thanks with few more questions: I have a WordPress themed website developed locally and published. But now I want to do lot of smaller sites with 3 to 10 pages max and I find this HTML / CSS Template based approach attractive because of less maintenance etc. content is more geared towards Niche Sites that are more informative with some Adsense or Affiliate Banners. That’s all.
1) Would you recommend templates or wordpress for my need?
2) I understand I can have this Template locally installed, do all the changes and publish. BUT how can I change / customise – do I have to install the page builder or it will run in browser?
3) When final site is locally developed, would I push everything or only the pages I built for my site?
4) There is no database involved right?
5) I see that you are not sharing the documentation, but that can help.

1) I would suggest you take a look at the WordPress version of Stack, which gives you the ease of publishing through WordPress, and the ease of building with Variant!
2) Variant runs locally in browser, and simply outputs the HTML of the pages you build. To customise further you then edit the HTML or CSS to suit your needs.
3) Only publish the pages you build for your site and all the folders such as js, css etc.
4) No database is used by Variant. Any content you create is output to html files. You’d be creating a static website. Pages are stored in local storage within the browser while you work on them. Then they are output to HTML when you are ready to copy them to your server.
5) Docs are available in the download package.
