Do you support Google AMP pages ?

Hey milesfinlay,

Thanks for your interest in Ember.

Ember is compatible with the ‘AMP for WordPress’ plugin, which we recommend if you wish to enable AMP on your blog.

Thanks I have just downloaded the theme. I have installed the Ecko Plugin but the twitter widget is not showing under ‘Appearance’ -> ‘Widgets’ section. I have the latest WP installed. Any ideas?

Hey milesfinlay,

Thanks for your purchase of Ember!

Ensure the plugin is also activated via the ‘Plugins’ section in the WordPress dashboard. If the issue persists please create a ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist.

Hello, how can I decrease the height of the cover? both on homepage and post page? Can I just override .cover class?

Hey kheyro,

Thanks for your purchase of Ember.

For layout modifications such as this we would recommend using CSS as you have mentioned. If you need assistance with this, or have any further questions please open a ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist.

Hello folks, I love this theme – just wondering where do I enable comments on each post? I like how it looks in the demo version and would like the same. Let me know and thanks!

Hey aluciani,

Thanks for your comments and purchase of Ember.

We use the default WordPress comments system in Ember. Ensure you have comments/discussions enabled within your WordPress settings.

We have also just responded to your support ticket with further information.

Any idea why the Ecko Twitter widget wouldn’t work, has all my API keys and tokens in it.

Also, on the home page, having trouble getting my author info to appear, it’s fine on post page, but not on the homepage.

Hey kwillustrate,

Please create a new ticket on our support site with a link to your blog and we will be happy to assist with this.

Hey guys, what’s the easiest way to customize the fonts and access Google Fonts for post content?

Hey kmores,

Thanks your purchase of Ember.

You can find the included typography options via the theme customizer – which includes Google Fonts. This can be accessed via your WordPress Dashboard under ‘Appearance’ -> ‘Customize’ -> ‘Typography’.

If you have any difficulty with the above, or have any further questions please create a ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist.

Hi, is there a way to relocate the logo on the homepage to the top-left corner, just like on a blog page?

Hey ofirbadiri,

Thanks for your interest in Ember.

As the logo is displayed on the front-page blog cover it is disabled in the upper left section to avoid duplication, however it can be re-enabled with a minor edit if required. If you decide to purchase open a ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist with this.

question pre-sale: Is there a possibility that reading time will also show on mobile?

Hey lbvieri,

Thanks for your interest in Ember.

This is possible with some custom CSS. If you decide to purchase, open a ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist you with this.

Is there a way to turn on infinite scroll on this theme, so that there is no pagination?

Hey chrisluck,

Thanks for your interest in Ember.

Infinite scrolling is not an included feature of Ember, however a third-party plugin may be able to add this functionality.

Very nice theme. A few questions:

  • Are you able to add some different post formats to the demo (aside, quote, image, video, audio) so I can see what those look like?
  • I’m an IndieWebber (indieweb.org). Would you consider adding Microformats2 support?
  • Both demos show a large header section. Can that be reduced to a slim section at the top, with the blog name and a tagline in it (instead of a logo)? I may or may not use a header image; I just want to know it has the flexibility to do that.
  • Do posts have to have the large header section?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards, Chris.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for your comments and interest in Ember.

1. Ember includes a single standard post format. If you have existing posts using other post formats then these will be displayed as the same style as the standard format.

2. Support is included for OpenGraph and Schema.org. We don’t have any current plans to support microformats2 at the current time.

3, 4. If you choose not to use a logo within the header then the blog name will be used instead. The height of the header element can be adjusted via CSS, which we will be happy to assist with via our support site.

Hello, https://eckothemes.ticksy.com is down – giving a ‘504 Gateway Time-out’ message. I’m just looking for how to customise which share buttons appear below the post (I’d like to switch FB for LinkedIn – and keep the theme styling). Thanks

Hey marsattacks,

Apologies for this, our support service provider is currently experiencing some unexpected downtime. If you ever find this to be the case in the future feel free to contact us via email with your queries.

As for the social icons, these icons are not interchangeable. You can choose to hide the default share icons via the customizer, and instead use a third-party plugin of your choice for this functionality.

Thanks!

Ember has been updated to version 1.2.0, below is the change-log for this update.

28/06/2017 - v1.2.0
+ Added Schema.org Integration
+ Updated Translations
+ Updated Documentation

It’s not really ‘Translation Ready’. Some strings are still missing.

Hey camilleroux,

Thanks for your purchase of Ember.

If you notice any strings not translatable within Ember please let us know via our support site and we will get these corrected.

Hey Guys,

I own your Onyx theme, and thinking about picking this one up as well.

Just curious, I noticed on the demo that the column shortcode (2 columns), don’t drop below each other when viewed on a mobile. Meaning, all of the contents within the column just get shrunk.

Will there be a quick way for me to have the 2 columns move to full width (100% width instead of 50%) on mobile devices? The same occurs within the Onyx theme.

Nevermind, just tested some custom CSS in Onyx and got it working. I imagine it would also work on this theme.

Will purchase later today.

Hey Inzate,

Thanks for your purchase of Ember.

As you have mentioned some custom CSS can be used for this. If you need any assistance with this please create a ticket on our support site and we will be happy to help.

No problem, and thanks for the response. I’ve set the theme up and applied my custom CSS which has worked to stack the columns on smaller screens.

Thanks

Good item… Almost exactly what I wanted for my blog… I’m just missing video and quote post types… mmm Rated 5 stars anyway because I knew before hand.

Hey dev-null,

Thanks for your purchase and rating of Ember.

As we intended to keep the post-list minimal in Ember it does not include styling for post formats in the post list. However video and quotes are fully supported in the post contents as would be expected. If post format support is a popular feature request we will look at including this in a future theme update.

So far, so very good, yet to post site publicly…one possible addition, may be integration with ko-fi.com when reaching end of article with some sort of non-annoying-pop-up to donate a coffee.

Hey coolbaboon,

Thanks for your comments and purchase of Ember!

It seems ko-fi have a guide on how to integrate their button widget with WordPress, which can be found here. If you need any assistance with this we will be happy to help, send us a ticket via our support site.

Yes, button works, but popup when reaching end of article or before navigating to new page after reading article or after sharing article may be beyond my expertise. Thanks for the response, button will do for now, not really your domain..just saw that pixabay does a popup after download of image, thought I would ask…great theme!

I would suggest using a third-party plugin for this – there are a number of ‘Popup’ plugins available on the WordPress plugin directory. You should be able to add your ko-fi embed code to these without issue. This is also a more robust solution as this functionality would then persist across different themes used.

Hi there!

Great job on the theme – it has a nice clean design, and I’m tempted to purchase this for my blog. I did have a few questions however:

- The one area that is putting me off at present is the lack of a permanent sidebar. Is there any plans to integrate this?

- Is there any inbuilt functionality to display ‘related posts’?

- Any issues with integrating third party plugins to a main ‘page’, such as a gallery?

Thanks!

Hey Potentiator,

Thanks for your comments and interest in Ember.

We don’t have any current plans to add a static sidebar. Ember is designed with a single column layout in mind, and a focus on the content with zero distractions. Widgets are still support via the drawer style sidebar, which can be seen by clicking the menu icon in the upper right.

A ‘Related Posts’ widget is include which can be added to the drawer sidebar. If you wish to show related posts at the end of the post page then a third-party plugin would be required for this. Currently the ‘Next’ and ‘Previous’ posts are shown.

You shouldn’t have any issues using a third-party Gallery plugin. We have used Jetpack Gallery and Justified Gallery in the past.

Thanks! I appreciate the quick response and clarification.

That should be fine – I ended up purchasing the theme, and look forward to using it. The clean minimal design and attention to detail really made this one for me.

Thanks for your purchase and comments.

If you have any questions we’re available on our support site.

Does this theme have side bars if so I am wondering if I could have ADs on the side bar. (using the themes built in AD module).

Hey joshuanet,

Thanks for your interest in Ember.

Ember has a single column layout with no permanent sidebar, however a drawer sidebar is included and can be seen within the live demo by clicking the menu icon in the upper-right. This drawer supports widgets, like a standard sidebar would.

If an always-visible sidebar is required then I recommend checking out our other two-column themes such as Onyx, Koala, and Slate.
