In the carousel on the Home page are posts (not portfolio items). Check documentation file here – https://demo.cocobasic.com/documentation/MANUAL-OcularusWP.pdf and find part “Home page (front page)” to read more about how the Carousel is created.

Please note, the theme is created on the “old school” way – with shortcodes (there is no page builder).

There is no such option because no one was asking for that (I could not find any topic about that on our support forum). Usually, when I get a request from 3-4 customers for the same thing I am including that in next update.

Probably you already know – there is an option to create a custom slider with custom images/links – maybe you can use that option for now – to “simulate” just one category.

Anyway, I will check this and maybe I will include it in next update (but when that will be – I don’t know). I have a lot of work at the moment on the support forum – I am the only one developer in our small team and I am always answering/fixing the bugs first.

Make sure you are using the latest version of Ocularus (1.5). From version 1.3 the plugin is moved inside the theme and it is inside the zip installation theme file (you will get alert about required plugins when you install the theme and just in few clicks you will install the plugin also).

So, if you don’t have the latest version, please re-download the latest one (I am not sure if the older version will work fine on WP 5.5.x)

4. You can have more then 5 images. The max width should be 850px. Image Heigh can be some other dimension (we are using 600px). Also, each image can have a different height.

The plugin is removed from our server and now there is only version 1.3 which is inside the theme.

There was a problem with this kind of installation – installing directly from our server. Some customers had a same error like you have now and the plugin was there – reason was in security – some hosts are not allowing this (probably because the connection was not HTTPS) and that is the reason why I have moved plugin inside the theme in version 1.3

Sorry, the only way is to re-download (in your case to buy) the theme and to start to use the version 1.3

Thanks for your reply. I saw the carousel shortcode, but I find it would be too cumbersome to use.

First, a page would be outside of the Portfolio custom post type which would defeat it’s existence. I understand your workaround, but it sounds more like a hack than a feature.

I would rather use it the other way: each gallery is a page with the home/horizontal layout and these are referenced in the portfolio page.

Second, a photographic story can consist of an important number of images, which would make this difficult to configure and maintain with the shortcode. I’m not sure about hard coding absolute links in there…

Ideally, a Portfolio page should have a horizontal layout option and a way to easily add from 10 to 40 images from the Media Library in one go.

I think your theme has a great canvas set, but it might lack a level deeper into the portfolio. My current site has almost 1000 images and I can’t imagine maintaining that with a proprietary shortcode and hardcoded links.
