pre-sale question: does this Theme is google adsense friendly. can I monetize my blog with this theme ?

Hi there, you will need to customize the theme to add your ads but no built in options for that.

Hello, do you support without google fonts? Some legal rulings against them lately.

Hi there, the theme currently loads the fonts directly from Google. I will check this out.

I would like to integrate a subscribe to newsletter box with space for email address on home page. Is this possible to do it easily?

i am facing some problems with the theme

Hi there,

I just replied to your support email. Kindle check.

Best,

Hi,

The design and features are really awesome!

Any future plans on adding a post-reading progress bar? :)

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in the Nubia theme!

Unfortunately, there are no plans to add a progress bar in Nubia, but you will be free to customize the theme as much as you like :)

Let me know if you have any questions …

Ahmad

Sir, GHOST released VERSION 3. Can you explain WHY your theme does not work in the most recent version? Have you gone on holidays for good?

PS: Your support license is already expired, please extend it for future theme support.

We upgrade support IF theme supports Ghost 3.0 which does not seem to be the case. We upgraded to 3.0, but when publishing a post for members only it does not follow through. We assume this theme is NOT compatible with the recent Ghost version

I’m currently doing research about the new update and It will take some time to fully support the new members functionality which requires lots of work. Please don’t expect an update with this big functionality in a few hours after Ghost is released.

Extending the support will give you the following as per the license:

1. Availability of the author of the item to provide item support

2. Technical questions about the item’s built-in features, functionality and third party plugins

3. Assistance with reported bugs and issues

4. Help with included third party assets (e.g. image sliders, contact forms)

Thank you!

Hello Ahmad,

Very nice theme and a very nice dark mode option you’ve added!

I’m looking into picking up a copy of Nubia for a blog of a colleague of mine and have a question about the dark mode. I see that many blogs and websites that integrate dark modes also provide a toggle so that the readers themselves can switch back and forth as they please, and so that operating systems such as Mac OS that have dark mode capabilities can automatically select the blog’s/website’s light/dark mode. Any plans on integrating such a toggle, such as next to the magnifying glass search icon?

Cheers, Allan

Hello Allan,

Thank you for your interest in the Nubia theme and for your suggestion, appreciate!

The theme comes with the dark mode as a separated version. There is no plans to add this feature at the moment, but I will think about it in the future.

Let me know if you have any questions …

Best regards,

- Ahmad

No problem. I’ve already set this functionality up on a couple of other Ghost blogs, so it won’t be too much of a problem to do myself (especially seeing how you’ve done most of the work of setting up all the styling).

And as my colleague liked the theme we went ahead and purchased it. Very nice documentation I see!

Cheers,

Allan

p.s. I think I’ll take you up on that offer and will send a few questions your way via email

I’m so glad you liked the theme, thanks Allan for getting the theme, totally appreciate!

If there anything, let me know …

Best,

Ahmad

Could you please explain the improvements in the most recent version? the changelog refers to updates on files, but it does not describe which are the improvements. It’s important for customers to evaluate whether they should update ASAP

Yes, of course! I wrote a tip about the update, but here is the explanation from Ghost about the issue and why the update is done.

The {{@blog}} helper should be replaced with {{@site}}

With the introduction of the Content API {{@blog}} became deprecated in favour of {{@site}}.

The {{@blog}} helper will be removed in next version of Ghost and should not be used. Find more information about the @site property at https://docs.ghost.org/api/handlebars-themes/helpers/site/

PS: Your support license is already expired, please consider extending it for future support. You can find more information at Item Support Policy.

so is this update mandatory even for those using Ghost official hosting?

Please help me! Problem #1 http://prntscr.com/n3g8uq Problem #2 http://prntscr.com/n3g9jx

Hi,

As you can see, there is no “Purchased” label next to your nickname, that means you did never bought this theme. And because support is for customers only, I can not help you, unfortunately. If your client bought it, please ask him to send a support email via the theme Support Section.

Best regards,

Ahmad

Hi Ahmad,

I am really impressed with both your reviews and responsiveness.

Have you had any experience with people using Bootstrap 4.x with this theme?

I am creating custom pages using routes.yaml and custom hbs templates and including Bootstrap’s CSS on those pages.

Trying this with the default Casper theme things go a bit haywire because Casper sets the font-size of the html element to 62.5% (I understand why although I don’t agree). Short of either going through the theme or Bootstrap and updating all the font-sizes (both use rems) it is pretty broken.

Looking at your preview it looks like you are not setting the font-size on the html element so aside from other potential conflicts it looks promising.

FYI I am using Bootstrap on the custom pages to get some more complex widgets.

There is no way to download a demo, etc. to test if it works is there? Not sure how that would work beyond the honor system though.

Thanks!!

Chris

Out of respect for your time I wanted to let you know I found another Ghost theme based on Bootstrap 4. While there are definitely some nice features, I think your theme is superior. I was and am definitely feeling more confident in your responsiveness and support.

On the other hand I know Bootstrap pretty well – certainly better than truly hard core CSS – so this will be easier to customize (and in a few areas “fix”).

I had spent quite a bit of time searching but it wasn’t until I gave up on ThemeForest and started over with some Google searches that I found decent alternative.

Thanks anyway. Keep up the good work!!

Hi Chris,

Glad that you find what you are looking for. You are much welcome and if you have any questions any time, let me know.

Best regards,

Ahmad

Dark Mode version is simply gorgeous. Well done again!

Very happy to hear that, thank you so much!

Hi. I am very interested in purchasing this theme. Can the main page also list excerpts under the post title? (As the Casper theme does, for example. )

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in the Nubia theme, appreciate!

It’s not part of the theme, but you can, of course, customize the theme to add it using the Ghost excerpt helper.

Hope that helps and let me know if you have any questions …

Best,

Ahmad

Thank you for the quick reply!

You are so much welcome!

I’ve been trying to use a few jQuery libs with this theme but have had problems with the $ symbol conflicts. Undefined functions etc. Scoping problems. The only way I can get them to work is to wrap the library function calls in a function wrapper and include jQuery lib from CDN – all in the head code injection area. Doesn’t work in any footer code injection areas (after app.min.js has loaded). It looks like app.min.js loads jQuery too. Does it check first to see if jquery is already loaded?

For page load time and below the fold benefits, it would be better for me to load some of these jquery libraries and initialise their objects in the footer code injection areas. But because app.min.js has already loaded and done its thing, everything goes haywire. Sometimes I can’t instantiate a jquery object, sometimes I can, but it breaks app.min.js functionality and I lose things like fade in and load more, and probably everything else.

The code I am using in the head is

    <script type="text/javascript">
( function($) {
    // we can now rely on $ within the safety of our "bodyguard" function
    $(document).ready( function() {

    $("#testplaylist").youtube_video({
    playlist: 'PLu_sL3nFCbRp...',
    playlist_type: 'horizontal',
    show_channel_in_playlist: false,
    show_channel_in_title: false,
    hide_youtube_logo: true
  });

    });
} ) ( jQuery );

</script>

This is the code for just one of the libs I’d like to use. The other libs also create the same problems unless loaded in the head only like the code above.

So the question is — is there a safe way to use jQuery libs with Nubia’s app.min.js and have the code load and be initialised in the footer, after default.hbs has included app.min.js, and safely make use of app.min.js copy of jQuery library?

You are most welcome Fraser!

Ahmad your comments made me think harder about where the problem was coming from. As I moved all the scripts to the footer, I found a script loading in the header that I had been using without any problem for many months. It was a highly compressed/minified js script that turned out was quietly loading jQuery. I just didn’t realise it. The jQuery script didn’t show up in the developer console in the browser.

I moved all JS to the footer and put all CSS in the header. And this old script also broke the theme. So after your comments, I took a closer look at the highly compressed code and found it was loading its own jQuery. It was this script, in the header that was causing the scoping problems when I tried to use other scripts in the footer and of course interfered with your theme’s app.min.js. I contacted the developer and I now have a no-jQuery included version of the offending script. And it’s in the footer code injection, where it should be, loading after app.min.js.

Everything working perfectly. And Nubia back to its shiny new self. I hope my mistake will perhaps help others track down similar problems – check highly compressed libs for them calling jQuery on their own.

Thank you for answering this query and for your patience.

You are so much welcome, you did a great job and I’m so happy that everything is working now. Thank you for taking the time to write your detailed response.

Nubia feedback

5 star rating from janpersiel

hello.. GLWS.. you have greats products :):)

I’m such a Ghost convert and Nubia is really a great theme. My one suggestion as news site would be able to have a Featured Post on the homepage as it’s a request from our advertisers.

Otherwise i couldn’t be happier.

Great to hear that, Tone!

Hi Ahmad, I sent you an email re moving the Featured Posts to the top. I tried to following the instructions but am stuck with the home.hbs as it doesn’t have the code as per the instructions.

Could you please help me on this.

https://www.ghostforbeginners.com/move-featured-posts-to-the-top-of-your-blog/

Hi Tone,

I’m afraid that this is a dedicated theme customization service which is outside the Support Scope. Instead, I would recommend Envato Studio or the Ghost Forum for more help.

If you have any questions, please let me know …

Thanks, Ahmad

Hi Aspirethemes, quick pre-sale question. Is Nubia search works with other languages like German, Spanish, Russian? Or just English?

Thanks.

The other supported languages are:

  • Russian

  • Germany
  • Portuguese
  • Italian
  • Finnish
  • Dutch
  • Danish

Hope that helps, and if you have any questions, please let me know …

“Having recently switched to Ghost from Wordpress I found a lack of good quality and well-designed themes available to purchase. After reading the reviews for Nubia I purchased it and am really happy.

It’s a great looking theme that’s clean and fast (really fast) and the support is A+++.”

5 star rating from misterman for Design Quality.

Please add full support for the new editor: https://forum.ghost.org/t/koenig-editor-beta-release/1284

Image captions, sizing, and other things are detailed there, and how to update the themes.

Thanks

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your suggestions!

Yes, the Koenig Editor support is on my to do for the next Nubia theme updates.

For theme updates, I just updated the online documentation with a new section about Theme Update.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know …

Best Regards,

- Ahmad

To aid in these updates it’d be very helpful if you detailed which files were updated, and possibly what changed in the release notes. For now I am going on the file or folder “last modified” date.

Hi Chris,

Thank you, I will consider this in the next releases. For the changes, I always update the theme Changelog.

Best Regards,

- Ahmad
