Hello! After installing the theme there is an error Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in …/public_html/wp-content/themes/whyte/framework/functions/gallery.php on line 9

How to fix it?

Hello,

This error seems a bit strange. It’s possible that something went wrong while uploading/installing the theme. Can you try re-uploading it?

Cheers

Yes. I downloaded through the admin panel, and via FTP. When the topic is downloaded, not only the site but also the admin panel does not work. Therefore, you have to hide the code in the source file.

Hello,

Upon further research, it appears that your server runs PHP 5.3 (or lower), and update is highly recommended. We’ve responded to your email in a bit more details, and we can continue correspondence there.

Hey Korra-Team,

really awesome theme and I love working with it. I do have a small question regarding the display of categories in the blogroll: It seems that the categories are displayed in alphabetical order and not in the order (hierarchical) that is defined in the backend. Is it possible to sort the categories in hierarchical order? That would be awesome.

Thanks in advance!

Hey there,

WordPress, by itself, has only the alphabetical ordering of categories, and it can’t be customized. There are many free plugins in the WordPress library that are introducing the custom ordering. Best approach would be to glance at their features/ratings and pick the most appropriate.

Hello :) Is it possible to remove the sidebar on a normal content page? I would like to display the main content in standart width (1300px).

Cheers

Made it already… Thanks :)

Hey there,

Good job!

Hello :) How can I reduce the number of posts displayed on the homepage? I would like to have only 7 posts instead of 10.

Thank you :)

Hey there,

If you use default WordPress’ Latest Posts page, the settings are in the Settings > Reading.

If you have custom static page with blog, then it’s within the settings for the blog (shortcode or page).

Cheers

Perfect! That was what I have been looking for :) Thank you!

Love what this theme is capable of. Are there options to change how the header/menu looks like? Can I put an image as the header, instead of just the logo on color?

Hey Kien,

[1] Yes this can be done easily. You need to edit the loop_item-masonry_image.php file. You can do this either by editing the file directly, or through WP-Admin > Appearance > Editor. Also, it would be best to do these changes via child-theme ( http://library.korra.io/whyte/documentation/#child-theme ).

Once you open the file, find the 3 values of “korra-portrait-m” and change it to “korra-horizontal-m”. This will change the image preset used for this layout.

[2] Sure. While you’re editing the same file, just find and remove:
<?php get_template_part('share_block'); ?>

Cheers

Perfect. That worked. I’m getting a better understanding of where things are too, so easier to make changes. Thanks.

Great, well done!

hello,

can we remove the dark grey space on the foot of the page ? ( just before the instagram feed)

Hi,

That sounds like you have some widgets in the Footer Widget areas. Can you check if there’s any, and remove them?

Alternatively, can you share a link where we could see your website?

Cheers

Hello, i just have installed the theme, and when i want activate or customize, this is the error message than i have: 500 Internal Server Error An error occurred while processing this request.

Website owner? Check your code and/or debug log. If you need assistance, contact support.

Hi,

This sounds like something went wrong with installation or server settings. There are many possible roots of the problem.

This article covers the usual issues and how to resolve them: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-internal-server-error-in-wordpress/

Hello Korra,

today suddenly all fonts on site have stopped loading. I have tried to set them again in customization but problem is still existing. I thought that maybe update will resolve it but.

Can you help me with that?

Best regards, Artur

Hey Artur,

We’ve just checked your website (mizzle.pl), and everything seems fine. GoogleFonts are called correctly and their response is successful ( https://cl.ly/0V0Q1R0o0g1l ).
This might have been a temporary issue on Google’s end. Has the problem been resolved?

Hi, I was excited about how easy the theme makes to place ads on my site. But after following instructions to add Google Adsense code to Ad Widget, and placing widgets in the desired locations using the content editor (http://www.paulaguimaraes.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Screen-Shot-2018-04-28-at-3.17.28-PM.png), I’m getting all sorts of ads all over my site (http://www.paulaguimaraes.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Screen-Shot-2018-04-28-at-3.16.49-PM.png), it also moves every time the page is refreshed.

What can I do to avoid that and just keep the ads where I intended? Thank you.

Hi Paula,

It seems that you are using ‘Page Level Ads’ with automatic placement which pretty much lets Google algorithms decide how your ads will appear. Also, the javascript reports error that you’re using more then one ‘Page Level Ad’ while you should have only one.

You’ll probably get the desired results by using regular ads. Try looking into the settings you have on your Google Ads account, and playing a bit with them to find the best scenario.

From what we see, there shouldn’t be any issues with displaying ads on your website.

Please, let us know if you need any more assistance.

Cheers

Hello, Please Would you add a woo commerce on this theme in the future ?

i mean a shop page* ready to use

Hello,

Unfortunately, at this time, this is not on our roadmap.

Hi, I noticed the Instagram slider is down on both websites I have this theme. Here is the message shown: Instagram has returned invalid data.

Is it being fixed? Thanks!

Hello,

Instagram has changed their API which resulted in broken results. Just update your Instagram Plugin and everything should be back to normal.

Hello :)

How can I build custom pages with your theme? Is there a page builder included?

Maybe you could post some screenshots from the backend. I would really appriciate it!

Greets Alex

Hello,

Custom pages, as well as regular posts are built directly in the content editor. Page-builder plugin is not needed.

Layout and flow of the content is controlled with the intuitive visual elements (http://library.korra.io/whyte/documentation/#sideblock-fullwidth).

Theme’s custom elements and shortcodes are added/edited easily via the Shortcode Generator (http://library.korra.io/whyte/documentation/#shortcode-generator)

On my homepage how do I change the colour of the footer social icons and also the grey box that is on my large image? Then on this page http://test1.thealexandraedit.com I have a text box how do I change the font and the background colour.

Hello,

To change the style of the highlighted paragraph, copy this CSS to Custom CSS in the Customizer:

.highlighted-p {
    background: none;
}

.highlighted-p:before, .highlighted-p:after {
    content: none;
}

Typography can be customized with ‘Description Heading’ typography settings.

Color of the social navigation can be customized with CSS. If there’s a specific colors you have in mind, please let us know and we’ll share a snippet.

Cheers

I’ve set my site up using a static page http://test1.thealexandraedit.com Is there any way to remove the boxes at the top and put in a full-width slider. If so which plugin would you recommend,

Hello,

To remove the featured posts on top – uncheck the ‘Use Featured Posts’ setting.

Whyte Blog Carousel can be seen here: http://demo.korra.io/whyte/categories-list-homepage/ To add it, go to Widgets and add Korra: Blog Carousel to Above Page Content Area.

Hi, I’m interested in buying your theme. With the single post layouts can I only use one style forever post or can I use different styles for each post. Also are the post page layouts created with a page builder or just code?

Hello,

You can create custom layout for each post. Post layout is created directly in the content, and uniqueness is due to a couple of our elements that let you pull content out of the column or make it full-width.

Layouts are created with elements that are inserted into content – they are visually represented in the editor, so that’s neither page builder nor direct code.

You can see the screenshot explanation here: http://library.korra.io/whyte/documentation/#sideblock-fullwidth

Cheers

Thank that’s great to know. Just purchased it.

Welcome aboard!

Feel free to reach out if you need any help.

hello, how is it possible to display the posts on the main blog page in the same style as the featured posts with the big image and the headline under it?

Kind Regards

Hello,

Sure, check out the Image-Masonry style: http://demo.korra.io/whyte/image-masonry-grid/

If you wish to have the exact same style, with grey background, it can be tweaked with a little-bit of custom CSS.

Cheers

Another pre-sale question. When you open any page in the demo, an X appears on top indicating the page is loading. Can this be disabled?

Hello,

Yes, it can be disabled through the Theme Options.

Kind Regards

Pre-sale question. The theme looks fantastic. I’d appreciate more info about how fast it is as I was unable to verify the demo with Google PageSpeed Insights, it returned “Data about the real-world performance of this page was unavailable.”

Hey there,

Here’s the Network panel screenshot for the Whyte Demo homepage: https://cl.ly/012h1v0t0y3F You can see that there are 76 requests (63 of those are content images, which leaves 13 requests to be code related stuff). The server responded and HTML of the page was loaded in 1.3sec, and in the next 3.8 sec all images and assets were loaded.

Note that all this data speaks about whole website installation, plugins, additional scripts added (like Google Analytics) and most importantly – server setup and optimization. Each installation will behave differently depending on these variables. Online tools for checking speed and optimization will point to and grade mostly server-side optimizations.

Technical details aside, from author’s perspective we would say that we built the theme to work fast and be easy to use. It doesn’t bundle a lot of third-party software which would bloat website. Almost everything is tailored specifically for the theme.

Kind Regards

How do I add the Comment form like in your demo? When I click “Leave a Comment” on a post, nothing slides out. I checked using developer tools and the section only contains <!---Comment Form--->

How do I edit this and add the comment form?

Nevermind, its fixed now! Had to uncheck “Automatically close comments on articles older than x days”.

Hey there,

Sorry to keep you waiting. Great, really glad to hear that you resolved the issue.

Kind Regards

I notice there is a wide gap between the main page title and the post. Is there a wide to decrease this gap?

Hello,

You could try using this CSS:

.article-single .post__title {
    margin-bottom: 0.5em;
}

If this doesn’t help, please send us the link to your website, so we can see the issue up close. It is possible that something outside of theme is affecting this.

Cheers
