Hi,
It sounds like that you’re using a One Page site. When using the One Page site, it will automatically display the content from all pages in the top-level menu of the Primary Menu. You may need to remove the pages that you wouldn’t like to show on the home page from the Primary Menu.
Also, try checking the Menu Settings section at the bottom of the menu items in Appearance -> Menus.
If you select “Auto add pages”, it will automatically add your new pages to the Primary Menu so the content on those pages will appear on the home page. You may need to uncheck that option. The Vela Demo Content plugin is included in the main download package. You can download it in your Downloads tab on ThemeForest, when you download the Vela theme choose “All files & documentation”. Once you extract that zip file, you will see the demo content zip file in the folder “Demo Content”.

It looks like my new client’s website was built with Vela theme (Version: 1.3). Previous dev bought this template, built a website without using a child theme (edited source files), made some messy changes… My client has no access to the original files. Is it possible to get clean updated version for a website revamp without the purchasing it? A can send you a link to a current website if it’s necessary.
We would recommend using the Envato Market plugin to enable the automatic update so you can download and install the new update from your WordPress admin.
If you’d like to update it manually, you will need to download the new update of the theme from the Downloads tab on ThemeForest.

We are sorry but the theme file is only available on ThemeForest. There are only 2 ways to download the new update.
1. Download it directly from the Downloads tab on ThemeForest.
2. Download it from your WordPress admin page by using the Envato Market plugin.
You may need to contact the developer who has purchased this theme and ask him to provide the purchase code and create a token key for you so you can automatically download and update the theme from your WordPress admin page.

Imagine that I’m creating a website with a portfolio, using the theme and the tools it offers. When I choose the 2nd portfolio layout, with the images appearing in a gallery, it is possible that they all have the same format (square for example), otherwise if you have vertical and other horizontal images, everything is deformed!
Actually, it displays all images in square thumbnails (640×640px). Please ensure that your images are bigger than 640×640px so they will be cropped to the same format.

This is a compatibility issue. The current version of WPBakery Page Builder plugin on your site is not compatible with WordPress 5.0.
You will need to update the theme to get the new update of that plugin to fix this issue.
Hello! I have this plugin and I have already used it in several projects, however now that I have a new website, with WP 5.0, every time I try to change some of the settings, on Theme Options, wordpress stalls and does not allow me to make any changes, without refreshing the page.

At this moment I can not access the account because the data is my boss, I just do the development of the projects online, he is what gives me the files. I already got the last version of the theme and this problem has been solved, but I think that in the options of the theme disappeared the option to configure the menus, now I can not put the menu over the slide on the homepage. Neither put the information on the top menu! Is it a bug in the new version?
Actually, you can change the menu options under Theme Options -> Header. Change “Header Position” to “Top of Page” to put the menu over the slider, you can enable the “Transparent Header” to make it transparency and overlay on the slider.
Also, when using the latest version of the theme. You can enable/disable the Transparent Header for each page under Vela Options -> Header on the page edit screen.
However, after checking out the latest update of the theme, it seems like there is a bug when you have slider at the top of the page, you won’t be able to make the menu transparency and overlay on the slider. Thank you for reporting this issue, we will fix it ASAP!
I have in the options the menu on the top, transparent and it still does not work! By the way, at this moment as the background is white and the letters are white nor can you put the menu visible!
Disappeared the options to put the “light” or “dark” menu! Also missing the options to put the contacts in the top bar!
I can wait for the changes to put the menu on the slide, as this is one of the features that made me use this theme!
To work around this, you can change the “Menu Text Style” under Vela Options -> Header on the page edit screen to “Dark” so the menu color will be black. This is an individual page setting so you can choose different color for different page.
Anyway, we will release the new update within 24 hours.

Is Vela Wordpress 5.0 compatible?
We’re sorry but the current version of WPBakery Page Builder plugin that’s included in the theme is not compatible with WordPress 5.0.
After you update your site to WordPress 5.0, it will force you to use the Gutenberg editor instead of the page builder, then you won’t be able to edit the post and page with the page builder.
We will include the latest update of WPBakery Page Builder (that’s compatible with WordPress 5.0) in the next update of the Vela theme, and it will be released in a couple of days.

However, Google Page speed is not up-to-the-mark. Ref: Mobile: https://www.diigo.com/item/image/5aln2/m1rg , Desktop: https://www.diigo.com/item/image/5aln2/65yd
We are already using CDN, WP Fastest Cache (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-fastest-cache/) and Autoptimize (https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/) plugin. However, still, the speed is not as per the Google Standard.
Can you please suggest any steps which we can do and why the theme is not as per Google Page Speed standard (Ref: https://www.diigo.com/item/image/5aln2/r4s0 ) ?

The speed optimizations vary depending on what you have on your site. You can see the suggestions in the “Opportunities” section under the testing results.
After testing your site with Google Page speed, here are optimizations that can speed up your site
1. Eliminate render-blocking resources. You will need to minify and combine static resources (JS&CSS files) on your site to solve this.
2. Defer unused CSS. There may be some CSS files that are not necessary and unused. You can find more details in the “Opportunities” section under the testing results. You may need to check your plugins and deactivate the ones that you never use on your site. You will have more CSS and JS files when you have many plugins on your site.
Regarding the link for the result of our demo site (Vela2), it’s different from the issue on your site. It got a low speed scores because there are several large images on the site. We’re using high resolution images to show beautiful design and for retina and high definition display. Those images are pretty big and can slow down the page download speed, all we have to do is to resize and optimize them.

I’m having problems with the Vela Breadcrumb section at the moment. I’m trying to have different header banner image display on my site; however, it displays as a global change. It applied the change to all the pages that used the same template. When I uploaded a head banner image to a particular page – for example, the blog page, it doesn’t reflect the update.
Just wondering if you could tell me if I’m doing something wrong or how I can update individual header image banners, without them being ‘global change’.

I can’t access the vela options (available at the bottom of the page) using WP Page Generator (I saved the original page as a template in WPBakery, opened the template in WP Page Generator that has WPBakery support), that’s the reason why I’m asking. It’s clearly visible when you set both pages next to each other:

Hi Wyde, this works perfectly – thanks! There’s one last thing before it’s completely right: on one page the background image/color is full width, on another page it has a fixed size in the middle. Is there css to have the background color/image in full width for all rows on that page (or all pages in general). Again, thanks!
To have a full width page, you will need to change the Template in the Page Attributes box on the page edit screen to Full Width, see the picture below:

Hi Wyde, I would like to have a darker ‘placeholder text-color’ for contact forms (CF7) where we use placeholder text. In the options we already opt for ‘dark’, but it’s not dark enough for our purpose.
