I have inherited maintenance of a website created with the Dental Care theme. Unfortunately, since I’m not the original website author, I do not have the Dental Care theme license, and have been informed the license cannot be transferred from the original purchaser to me. The version of the theme installed on the site is 1.3. Can you tell me whether this would be compatible with WordPress 5.x if I also install the Classic Editor plugin? Thank you for your assistance.

Thanks for the reply. I am not having a problem at the moment… I’m just concerned that by not having access to the theme updates, I am reluctant to upgrade to WordPress 5.x for fear that it might break the theme. I appreciate you offering support even though I am not the purchaser of your license. That’s very thoughtful of you.
Also, if you could answer my question: Is version 1.3 of your theme compatible with WordPress 5.2, assuming I install the Classic Editor plugin? If so, I could upgrade WordPress from 4.x to 5.2.

Theme will be upgraded in next 10-15 days. You can take backup of your theme code/database and upgrade to latest version. We provide support if you have any issue setting up the theme initially.

I cannot update the theme. I have no license. I am not the original purchaser. I have my own account on Themeforest/Envato but since I am not the original programmer, it was someone else who purchased this theme for the client, and I do not have the ability to download updates without a license.

You can’t update the theme until you have purchased the theme or having purchase key. You can take purchase key from original buyer of theme.

Back in March 2018, I was given the purchase code by the original purchaser, but I was told (in a previous support post) this would not work because the license does not match my email address. The original request came on ticket #1514010.

I tried to login to the ticksy site, and I entered the purchase code. I received a message that support had expired (I was aware of this, but I’m only looking for updated theme files, not technical support) and it would not allow me to finalize the ticket. Is there an email address where I can email the purchase code? In fairness, I did try to get this accomplished back in March 2018 when I contacted you for the first time (ticket #1514010). At that point, support was still available for a full six months.

We have already explained that to upgrade theme or get support, you need original purchase code. Without purchase code, we really can’t help you in any case. If you are not real buyer take the purchase code from who actually purchased the theme.

I have already explained to you that I HAVE THE PURCHASE CODE. It was given to me by the original designer (so I could maintain the site). Your support site WILL NOT ACCEPT THE CODE because the support period is ended. I have offered to send you the code by email to prove I have it. Just give me an email address where I can send the code, and you will see that I have it.

In that case, you would have to renew your support licence. After renewing your support, you would be able to upgrade the theme and take all support related benefits.
You can also purchase new copy of theme to get licence key and regular support and upgrades benefits.

Header banner can be different on all pages and can be removed from all. It doesn’t allow to remove banner from specific page or to choose different banner for mobile. You can’t select different heading for desktop and mobile.

- fills error log out of the box
- absolutely no data validaton of what is being sent from php, you get things like blank elements with margins even though values in dump equal to undefined or empty string and images with empty src in DOM etc
- you need a lot of isset() fixes in your child theme if you want to fix all warnings in your log
- you need demo content if you want to it to look like demo because there is a lot of markup in text editor, you can’t just c/p your content in and expect it to look like demo.
With this much errors this thing is not production ready, feels completely untested software.
