Hi, I think I’ve found an error in the code.
The new improvement: hidden comments are set to true in the code (data-hide-on-click=”true”). This causes the comments to show and if you press the button it hides the comments to not be able to show again (they disappear). When you put the value on ‘false’ it works as the functionality is supposed to
.
Do any others have problems with the related messages widget? If I change any option (show 4 messages or only the course) in the widget it does not do anything on the frontend..
Regards,
Sandra
Hello Sandra,
The next version includes a fix for the hidden comments. There was an issue if the option to paginate comments was not enabled.
You are right about the widget. The results are cached, so they do not update immediately. The next version includes fix for this, so that if you change the settings the cache is cleared, and the results are updated right away.
Best regards, myTheme
Thanks for your response. Good to know this will be fixed in the next update!
Hi,
The design for printing is messed up.
No recipe photo and the title is not showing up correctly.
If i check your demo, I see big rating stars in print preview… Can you fix this?
Hello,
I will take a look at it, thanks for letting me know
Hi, can you tell me how recipes are created please? Are they posts, portfolio items, or custom templated items?
Hello,
Recipes are created as a custom post type.
Hello, Is it possible to add a right sidebar to single recipe? Or is it easy to edit?
Hello,
It is not possible currently. I’m considering if I will add alternate layout(s) for single recipes. But unfortunately, I can’t promise anything
That will be nice. Can u send me a message if you have added? I need a theme with sidebar, only change my old theme for this theme if it have the sidebar option. Thanks!
hey there , i updated the theme to the last version but for some reason i dont have the check box next to the Ingredient like the demo site , how i can add the check box on the Ingredient , thanks
Hello,
Actually I have forgotten that styling on the demo site. It was a custom CSS style I demonstrated for one customer.
Here’s the CSS: https://jsfiddle.net/nmuzvcbr/
You can add the CSS at Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.
thank you very much work great
Hello. Pre-sales question: does the theme support the Cooked Pro plugin? If not, any plans to?
Hello,
No, it does not, and there are no plans to add support
Hi,
I like your theme and it looks really great. I’m looking between Basil theme and this one.
Before buying, I would like you to please help with few of my queries related to rating strategy.
Does this theme support option to allow voting only when logged in?
Is it possible to have star rating instead of a “Like” button?
Can user add a comment and rating so that it could be visible with his comment, just like a review with star rating? If this is not possible with the theme right now, could you please which plugin would go well with your theme to support such a feature.
Thanks!
Hello,
There is no option to allow voting only for logged in users.
No, the voting works with the like or dislike buttons. I know it would be nice to have a star rating as well, but it’s pretty hard to add at this point.
Ratings with comments are not possible with the theme. I can’t really recommend any plugin which adds this functionality.
Let me know if you have more questions
Best regards, myTheme
Thanks for your time!
I do have few more queries.
Does the recipe builder has the option to add images for each instruction?
Do you have any documentation where I can see the screenshots for dashboard,.like adding recipes etc.. that would be really helpful?
Is the Recipe is a custom post type?
Does the theme support lazy loading recipes? Instead of just page number based?
Hi,
1. Yes, the instructions are added with the normal WordPress editor.
2. Options page: https://mytheme.io/screenshots/recipes/recipes-options.jpg
Edit recipe: https://mytheme.io/screenshots/recipes/edit-recipe.jpg
Edit taxonomy term: https://mytheme.io/screenshots/recipes/edit-taxonomy.jpg
3. Yes, it is.
4. No.

Hi, I’ve spent quite a bit of time trying to sort out another template I bought which turned out not to include a “submit new recipe” functionality in the downloaded zip file which was on the authors demo site.
Can you confirm before I purchase that this template does include submit new recipe. Also is the page presentation configurable to have different display option i.e. just picture, picture with summary details, grid view?
Thanks
John
Hello,
I’m really sorry for the late reply
Yes, this theme includes a submit new recipe functionality. You can test it on the demo site.
On the options for the submit form you can choose which fields are displayed and/or required.
You can also choose if only registered users are allowed to submit recipes.
Unfortunately there are no built-in options to configure the page presentation.
Best regards, myTheme
Does this theme give you the option to select more than one category on the recipes page? Essentially check boxes instead of drop-down menus? So someone could search for both breakfast and breads at the same time?
Hello,
Unfortunately this is not currently possible
Hello,
Just letting you know that selecting more than one category is now possible
Hi, Which role to give to new users ? Thanks
Hello,
The role can be selected at Settings > General > New User Default Role.
This theme does not affect it in any way, and it’s your decision which role you want to give to new users
Hello,
I want to rename Collection to “Categories”. It’s located under Recipes-> Collection with drop down selection. How do I do it?
Thanks, Cuong
Hello,
Unfortunately, it is not currently possible. I will add a filter to allow editing the taxonomies at some point.
By the way, you support has expired.
Hi I am considering buying this theme. I wanted to know how the recipe information is stored in the backend? Is it stored in a custom post type with custom fields? Also would I be able to change the labels on the recipe fields and tags like change course and cuisine to something else? even in code without hacking the theme?
Hello,
Yes, recipes are stored as custom post type with custom fields.
Changing already registered taxonomies like course and cuisine is not recommended. Are there some taxonomies you would like to see added to the theme?
how come I can’t update the theme automatically? When I go to my themes in my WP I see all the themes I have, and this this one has the old link http://live.bobosh.com/themes/recipes and the version is 2.3. :/
Hello,
To enable automatic updated you need to install and activate the Envato Market Plugin: https://envato.com/market-plugin/
Because you are updating from quite old version, please read the documentation carefully once you have updated the theme and the plugin. There have been some major changes after the version you are using.
Hello! I am trying to decide between buying this theme and another one. Is it possible to add extra widgets beyond the ones included? Such as for most liked recipes, most favorited, most viewed, and highest rated authors? Thank you.
Hello,
You can already sort recipes in the homepage and footer widgets by likes and favorite count. Adding an option to sort by views is on my todo list.
Showing highest rated authors is not possible.
hello, am 17 and trying to get my way with this whole blogging thing, a dearest friend/aunty just gifted me with his formal domain (foodwellsaid.com) with about DA40 and i have been trying to come up with the best theme for this, and i found this Receipts and am soo in love with it, but the cost hurt me cry. my plea is can i be given the privilege of having this theme run on my blog for few months until am able to raise some funds from adsense and then pay up so as to get the licensee which is very much important, i also don’t mind putting up a free comprehensive review for you guys on the site. ill’d be soo glad if this can be granted of me, my email is nitrobemsin@gmail.com, ill appreciate if the file is mailed to me, thanks sooooo much in advance.
No, it’s not possible
Hello,
I would like to buy your theme, but before that I need to know: 1. Is it possible to add canonical and rel-prev next? and the second question: 2. is it possible to create pages with description on which the recipes will be listed with one specific attribute? For example. attribute – fast meal, and i would like to add some info about fast meals on this page.
Thank you for the anwser
Best Regards
Hello,
1. There is no built-in functionality for this in the theme. You could try to use some SEO plugin.
2. You can already do this with taxonomy term descriptions. See for example: https://mytheme.io/recipes/course/main-dish/
Hello myTheme! I love this theme for recipes, so far. I have a few questions, please know I am new to Wordpress.
- When users submit their recipes, is there an option to review the submissions before posting on the site? - is there an option to add a customizable widget to the recipe for nutritional values also a widget for adding a section for my (blog owner) critic of the recipe with maybe a keyword that could be used to filter on to know it was critiqued by me? - blog page – is it possible on the landing page of he blog to have a category link for the blog posts, allowing the user to have the option to choose a category foe the blog?
Thanking you in advance for your feedback. Michelle
Hello Michelle,
1. Yes, this is the default behavior. Recipes must always be accepted by the admin.
2. Nutritional values widget: Not included with this theme.
3. Critic: No.
4. Blog categories: Yes, with some minor customizations to the theme files.
pre sale : can user add more than one image for the recipe? also can we show the top rated recipe for every month not all time ?
Hello,
1. In the front-end form it is currently possible to add only one image per recipe. This image is used as the recipe’s featured image.
Admin can obviously add as many images as wanted via the WordPress dashboard.
2. No, it’s not possible to show the top rated recipe for every month.
I have purchased this theme, could you please tell if it is possible to remove some search fields ? I would like to keep Keyword / Skill Level / Recipe Tags and to remove Course, Cuisine and Collection.
Also, how can i translate these words ?
Thank you very much
Hello,
You can choose which filters are displayed at the theme options. Go to Recipes Options from the admin sidebar. See the “Filtering recipes” check boxes.
See the documentation chapter “6. Translating Theme” for translation instructions.
hey there thanks for this great updated , if you plz take a look for : 1- the footer on this last updated 4.1.1 (November 14th, 2018) for some reason the footer left, center and right it is just one line. 2- this plugin WP-PostViews my hosting put it on the black list , and it is out of updated for 2 years if you plz recommend any other plugin . 3- the previous/next recipe links it is still not RTL compatible on mobile devise . thank you .
Hello,
1. There were some changes to the CSS handling the columns in the footer, and your site is probably still using the old CSS. Clear the browser cache, and try again. If you are using caching plugins in WordPress, clear those caches as well.
2. Sorry, I can’t really recommend other plugin. I will take a look at it, and see if I can find anything.
3. I will take look at this. Thanks for letting me know!
thank you for the reply
