Hello, thank you for the lovely theme. We’ve just installed the content for demo2 and it didn’t keep the lovely font you used in the demo. Can I ask what the font settings are for it so I can set these in Typography?

My post editor appears very different than that in the brook document page that breaks down the theme by section. When I view my posts (which contain images and text) they aren’t aligning properly and text and images are slightly off from one another. Even if I center or left align them all, they are still inconsistent.

Try installing the Classic Editor plugin, which will revert the Classic WP editor instead of new Gutenberg block system.

Font links can’t be changed since they are integrated by Google. You can embed your custom font files via @font-face and use them in styling. This should skip loading the Google fonts since they will not be used.

Theme comes with the Google Fonts implementation which can be customized in Theme Customizer > Style > Typography.
If you wish to use a self-hosted font file, it can be included in theme’s style.css file via `@font-face` in the theme files.

Hey! Cant seem to find the option to change the cover photo when creating pages, it’s just grey. Is there supposed to be an upload custom cover image or am I missing something?
Hey there,
By default, the featured image is used for the page cover. However, you can use the Custom Cover from Page Settings, to get a lot more control over your cover. For this field, Advanced Custom Fields plugin must be installed.
If you see only grey cover, it’s possible that you have default image that came with demo-content import.

This function or error didn’t came from our theme. The chances are that some of your active plugins is corrupted. Best approach to solving this issue would be to disable plugins and locate the problematic one.

It’s possible that instagram changed their API and the plugin is not able to pull images. Check if plugin can be updated, as that should resolve the problem.

We’ve just checked the plugin in the WordPress library and it has not been updated for 9 months.

[1] You could apply a bit of styling to make it look sharp.
[2] That’s indeed strange. We have no idea why this would be the case. Have you made any changes recently, either to widget or to your Instagram account? If your instagram account is public, and username correctly set in the widget settings everything should be fine.

You can control the navigation from WP-Admin > Appearance > Menus. When you crate the your menu, make sure it is assigned as ‘Main Menu’ in display location settings.

If you select Pages > View All, there should be Home listed. This will result in your homepage, whatever you chose it to be through the settings.

I’ve through and tested most of the headers to check in the typography section, but the menu doesn’t seem change from using any of them.

The navigation font-size must be change through CSS. Paste this code into Customizer > Advanced > Custom CSS, and set the value to the preferred one (this is default):
Minimal Header style:
.brook-nav .menu a {
font-size: 13px;
}
Classic Header style:
.brook-nav--classic a {
font-size: 12px;

We’ve found the difference.
Edit your page, click on the image and set it’s alignment to ‘None’. Currently it is ‘Center’ aligned.
This is intentional theme feature to enable both centering of images and pulling them out of the column.

Main difference between the two demos is Header Style – Demo 2 uses Classic header style. You can select this in Customizer > Layout > Header.

Thanks for replying. I just have 2 more questions before I buy it, sorry a bit of a blog novice here 
1 – Can I have a different slider on the homepage? On the ipad the slider is a bit buggy, scrolling is not smooth and it keeps snapping back to the first pic.
2 – For the navigation and logo layout, could i have it like demo 2, but with the logo on top, the navigation bar with a black background below it and the slider right under the navigation bar without any space between?

[2] This case would need to be customized through the code. It’s a minor task – just contact us through the support channel and we’ll help you apply the change. Also, if you happen to purchase Brook, make sure to install child-theme.

Hi again, I’m having a problem with the mobile view of my blog (http://goldentogardenstate.com). The cover background which is my logo isn’t resizing correctly for mobile. Should I be resizing this image in the Customizer? Thanks in advance for your help!

You shouldn’t be using Page’s cover to display logo.
You can add logo in Theme Customizer > General. In case that you wish to have different header layout, you can change it in Theme Customizer > Layout > Header.

Apologies – it’s not a logo I have on the cover, it’s my blog name as an image. The Minimal layout is too small for me to fit this cover image. Unless i can resize the minimal layout to fit my blog name image?

We’ve just checked your website and the CSS code doesn’t seem to be added correctly. You should paste it, as is, in Customizer > Advanced > Custom CSS.
The code will fit your homepage cover image on mobile. There are no additional changes needed.

Apologies – one more question: on each individual post, can I change the color of the post headline which appears over the featured image? Most of my images are dark, so I would prefer a white colored headline, but it’s appearing dark gray and it’s hard to read. Thanks again!!
