Hi Flow,

Something wrong happened with add and edit post, page and portfolio. I had already tested and it worked fine. But now, I can make the edit an add but when saved the page does not load and change doesn’t happen. I test my other sites in wordpress with the server and everything woking fine. Because this I think is something wrong with the theme. Do you have any idea?

I’ll need to take a look to tell anything. Please create support ticket and provide WP login/password in profile information: http://support.forcg.com/

So far no one reported similar issue.

I did that and wait an answer! tks one more time

Tks Flow! The support solved my problem! :)

I can’t seem to get the portfolio items in the grid to link properly. I’ll click on the Image, and it’ll go to a different portfolio item. Sometimes they won’t link to anything at all when I click on them. What am I doing wrong?? Help. Please.

Please make sure that each portfolio project has at least 1 slide :) If it doesn’t have slides – it will link to some other project.

I think I should emphasize that more in documentation. Such information is there.

Thanks that helped. Is there a way we can make a portfolio item link to a page instead of the actual portfolio item?

No, you can only make it link to portfolio project. I’ve done such custom modification for someone though and it was really easy. It took me about 1h if I remember well.

Again, a great theme, I finally set it up and I’m trying to customize it…

Could you tell me how to force the first load of the Portfolio page (typically when you go on this page from another page) it directly loads a specific category of items (instead of all). It would be great if you could drive me a little to the solution :) It’s okay if it’s “hard coded” directly in the JS / theme.

Sincerely

Hi, I’m not sure where to go after that… I’d like to specify a certain category of portoflio items to be displayed on the front page… (kinda noobish here sorry :/)

I’m not sure I’m clear enough. Here’s what I need : when someone goes on Portfolio page, I want a specific category to be displayed (“IDENTITY” for instance), that’s just it. I just need to figure out how to just display those ones and keep the other basic functionalities (visualise all the categories and filter by them by clicking on its title). What I mean is, I don’t need the “exclude category” function since I want to visualize all the categories… :) Thanks for your reply and sorry for my english :D

I’m sorry for delayed response. Please use our support forum to get quick help. Thanks! That’s the only place where we are able to effectively track issues like that.

I would like to add embedded presentations (e.g. from Google Docs or Prezi) as portfolio slides. Basically, I need a html-box to copy the code they provided. Is it possible with current setup?

Current files allow to use images, YouTube videos, Vimeo videos and HTML5 videos. To add Google Docs, iframes or other things like that you’ll have to modify framework/shortcodes/konzept-slides/slides.php. That’s where full slides output module is present.

I cannot let another minute go by without noting how incredible your support is, both here (which truly, you do NOT need to do) and especially on your dedicated support forum.

The theme ROCKS but is definitely made even better by your comprehensive support. In just a day or two, I’m almost fully finished pulling together my new profile/ portfolio site over at http://jillsessa.com

You’ve earned yourself a very dedicated fan, Flow.

Thank you so much for your kind words! :) I’m really happy to read your comment.

Flow, I really love this template! I would like to buy it immediately, i have one small question open: When I resize the browser window, the content moves accordingly. What about bigger browser sizes? Is it possible to resize it for bigger screens, here´s an example: bit.ly/pm5Xap

Thanks a lot!!

Yes, you can adjust current script from being limited to 1125px to 100%. Once you resize thumbnails container, it will adjust accordingly even on large screens (layout like in your link is possible with little effort and slight custom modifications).

Currently the theme is limited to max 1120px width. It will not scale above that but all containers have percentage dimensions so nothing stops you from increasing that to let’s say 1440px or even more. All inner containers should adjust accordingly (however, I didn’t test that so I can’t guarantee that). You can try everything before purchase using Firebug.

Example (1080p screen, website re-scaled from 1120px to 1620px): http://gyazo.com/aae40b737ee22a8753cbb3025615e0d5 (I needed only 30 seconds to do that). We use probably the best possible method to maintain code flexibility for those who are planning to do modifications like that. I hope I helped!

PS
Before purchase please make sure that it meets all your needs. Especially in important to you aspects. Thank you! :)

Convinced and bought. Thanks so much, Flow!!!!

Thank you! I hope it’ll meet your needs :) Please create support ticket on our forum if you’d like to ask any questions.

what is that plugin called that you are using for the clients down at the bottom? if its not a plugin is there one avail?? by the way I love this theme

Clients logos? It’s widgetized footer. You can put there some client logos or other stuff :)

Thank you! :)

Just wanted to say that this theme does rock and I appreciate all of the help that you have given on your help forum. I got it working just the way I want it.

That needs to be said, because too many theme authors give bad service. I always check the comments before I buy anything to see how the designers respond to questions, and you have been consistently helpful and anyone thinking of buying this theme should know that.

Thank you so much for your kind words! :) I’m really happy that you like Daisho and our support!

Hey Flow,

My site is currently at NewsBare.com. I also noticed on the mobile version of your demo, one tap shows the thumbnail info for a half second then automatically goes to the new page. I really would like to allow people to read the thumbnail info on mobile so any help would be very much appreciated!

Best,

-Greg

Thanks for your suggestion and I already replied to your support ticket. In Daisho there is only single tap mode. In Konzept and The Agency there is double tap mode. I’ll think about adjusting Daisho one, however we can’t qualify it as bug or wrong behavior. It’s just different but still equally correct.

Hello,

first off congratulations on what looks like a great design.

Before I purchase, I would like to know whether this theme supports the Greek Character Set and perhaps a language switcher.

Thank you.

/Alex

Thank you!

We’re preparing WPML support for it. And Greek charset… you can test it yourself by entering demo, right-clicking any text and picking “inspect element” (I suggest to have Firebug extension for Firefox installed or using this in Chrome for the easiest changes). Then in HTML editor you can replace current text with your text directly on page.

Basically, if that font support extended charset then the answer is yes but I don’t know if it supports it. You can check one of the three fonts we used (main one) here: http://www.google.com/webfonts/specimen/Open+Sans

We didn’t include any extended charsets but you can include them if you wish. Available charsets are:

  • Cyrillic Extended (cyrillic-ext)
  • Latin (latin)
  • Greek Extended (greek-ext)
  • Greek (greek)
  • Vietnamese (vietnamese)
  • Latin Extended (latin-ext)
  • Cyrillic (cyrillic)

So, I think that you need to generate new font in Google’s editor (it’s very easy) and replace current link to load them in header.php with new one that includes your charset. I hope that helps! :)

hello how can i activate the optional top bar with information… im going crazy trying to find it

Please go to [Daisho > General] and select “Info Bar” from “None” to some page. Documentation explains that, too. I hope I helped :)

Hey Flow,

Sorry for all the questions I love your theme and most of this stuff I’ve been able to figure out on my own which is great! However, I have two questions about mobile.

Firstly, you mentioned before that in previous versions, mobile was tap to show the title and other info and then tap again to go to the website. Currently its tap once to go to the website. Is there anyway I can have access to those previous versions or could you give me some hints on how to switch it to work this way in mobile? Basically I want single tap to do what hover does on desktop.

Secondly, on my mobile page the images are not all perfectly aligned. Towards the end there is a column (one of three) that is a little longer than the other two. Is this something I can fix easily?

Thank you so much for your help!

Best,

-Greg

1) It should show thumbnail information on first tap and enter project on second tap. Were your files modified anyhow?

2) Can I have your URL , please? It should re-position thumbnails according to current layout but it will also try to maintain correct order of projects if possible.

Flow – where can I find news about your upcoming theme/s?

Our designer is occasionally publishing some previews of upcoming themes: http://dribbble.com/anthonyjones

Currently we’re improving entire framework with more shortcodes, shortcodes editor, full WPML support etc. Better code base is something that everyone will benefit from in current themes and future ones :)

Basically, we’d like to expose some hidden features and make interfaces more user-friendly.

Flow,

Thx for support on forum, man. So far so good and the theme is great.

Do you have an approximate date for the next update and what it will include?

It should appear this week. It will include only new features.

Really like this, good work. The only letdown for me is the choppy JS animations – when clicking/tapping on a piece of work and the work details panel sliding in. Also when clicking/tapping the left and right arrows to go from one piece of work to another – these are majorly choppy on iPad and also slow on desktop.

Any chance of making these animations CSS3 transforms (with jquery fallback) so that they’ll be nice and smooth on iOS/HW accelerated browsers? Ready to pull the trigger on the buy button, just would be nice to have this :)

Thank you :)

You’re right that they perform slower but that’s the best what can be achieved in 2012 with jQuery (we launch large opacity animation and scroll to top animation at the same time). In IE9 and Chrome they are very smooth. Firefox and Safari (PC) are not so well optimized.

“Any chance of making these animations CSS3 transforms (with jquery fallback) so that they’ll be nice and smooth on iOS/HW accelerated browsers?”
Good question. But is this possible at all when calling functions like that? I mean CSS3 transitions/transforms can be easily applied to events such as :hover, but in case of “scrollToTop()” and “fadeOut/fadeIn” of new project it might be tricky to use them instead.

I’ll take a look at possible solutions :) I don’t promise anything but if updates will appear then it’s going to happen today/tomorrow on demo. At least thumbnails grid has CSS3 transforms right now (with jQuery fallback).

Thank you for suggestion for improvements!

I’m a big fan of Konzept, which is obviously quite similar to Daisho. I guess one thing I really like about Konzept is the full page slider option – is it possible to do the same thing in this theme?

I’m thinking, like one of the posters above, that Daisho may be more suitable for my needs – are there any other major things I’d miss out on by selecting Daisho over Konzept?

Please check both demos carefully before purchase and compare important to you things. Both themes maintain a lot of similarities but as for now Daisho is a bit more complete

For instance – Daisho support YouTube/Vimeo for mobile and Konzept doesn’t (yet).

However, I like Konzept more due to its design :) Daisho has only white version and it’s created more like flexible solution just for TF users (for further editing). Konzept is something unique, perhaps it allows less modifications.

Slider – Daisho’s slider already uses “slideshow” post type so you will have to create new post type if you’d like to move slideshow from Konzept to Daisho. The slideshow is modular. It’s possible. And it should be almost copy and paste work (except you need to prepare it to work with new post type and perhaps copy some functions).

Anyway, please consider your choices before you do decision :) Please ask your questions if necessary.

hi. the theme is not compatible to IE9 unfortunately !!! the png fix on the team site does not work and the portfolio single items are extremely small. here some screenshots: http://cl.ly/image/062L0B0u362X http://cl.ly/image/1J3L0W0l3z1V

any ideas how to fix that??

It is fully compatible with IE9 : http://gyazo.com/099b3e797325c9634a6a6acc20a1038a.png?1343153764

I can safely say that. All scripts, even the most complex ones were checked for full IE9 compatibility.

1) PNG images – if they are displaying like that you can’t blame us for that but IE developers, right? It is long known that IE (all versions) has multitude of transparency, gradients, rgba() and filters problems. It is not dependent on web developers. Various fixes, tricks and workarounds are available. Fortunately, you can just use images without transparency. They will work exactly alike on white background.

2) Small images? Does it happen for you on demo, too? For me it doesn’t happen: http://gyazo.com/f830ac7224c4e9031c56a1b98e7b79d2

You can create support ticket and we’ll investigate all issues you may encounter. I hope I helped! :)

hi. ok thanks for the message. If you write full support für IE9 i also think that a png fix script would work. but ok. we’ll take jpgs! The small images appear once. when i reopen the portfolio item again its large. but the first time i open the page all items are small.

BTW : i really love this theme :) thanks!!

Thank you for your kind words!

Argh! We do window.load() to check if images are ready to be processed and we use this to grab their dimensions: $(this).attr("src",this.src).load(function(){. If you understand anything from this line – this is the correct way to do that. It works flawlessly in all browsers. I will think of some improvements to that line if what you say is true. I didn’t notice that on demo though. Maybe you’re not using v1.0.4? It was added to v1.0.4. Before we were using something else.

I think that IE9 support is as close to full as possible. The only thing that doesn’t work is HTML5 links update (when you open project) and many fancy CSS3 transitions and transforms. Transparency fix… we’ve got 2012 right now and IE9 doesn’t support that? :( I’m adding this as useful suggestion to be investigated. It will be improved in the nearest update. Thank you for taking time to report that!

Is everyone generally having problems installing this theme or is support being given. I see a request to go through the forum but the forum will not accept the product license because of envato database being down. Are not your members being supported here as well in the meantime to insure that everyone is happy even though envato maybe experiencing errors? I just want to know before I purchase if I am going to experience the same results from your support or will you support here when envato database is down.?

Envato’s database that verifies purchase codes has been down from 2:00PM to 3:30PM today (with breaks). Generally, support forum is available 23 hours a day because of that :)

Installation problems… well, I logged in to completely random client server and recorded a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yvf2dcPfiHM

Judge yourself! You will usually receive answers from us in 24-72h either in TF comments, email or support forum. Support forum is strongly recommended. I already reported database downtime to Envato and they replied: “I’m going to forward this ticket to the necessary staff member in order to review the issue.”.

We have to verify purchase codes obviously. Basically, please make sure that this theme meets all your needs (please check everything carefully, especially important to you aspects!). You have free access to documentation, admin panel screenshots, videos. Please ask pre-purchase questions and then purchase or not :) I obviously want you to be satisfied with your choice.

How do we have the homepage stay in the same place like the sample on the theme forest live preview page?

What do you mean by “stay in the same place”? Is it moving? I need examples and more details to tell anything about that.

When we refresh the page the thumnail grid changes placement and the sizes of each of the portfolio items.

How do we do it like your preview heme so they stay in the same place and size?

May I have your URL , please? You’ve got exactly the same files like in demo. No configuration options are available for that so it should work the same way all the time.

Hi, I bought this theme and it has caused no end of trouble, can you please help us! newgeekmedia.co.uk
