The reason for this is that it extends phpBB functions in a way to support modern frameworks like Bootstrap and much more.

If you hide create account users cannot register… If that is your goal, then disable the board registration via ACP?
This way you don’t have to change the theme code…

I recently purchased FLATBOOTS and oh boy its difficult. I would like to consider my options here as I had been saving up for some time to be able to purchase it. Now that I finally did, I see that if I really want to get anything running properly I will have to purchase more stuff. I tried to do some C++ coding and oh boy I sucked at that. I could get nothing working out. I kept going back and forth to check everything out and finally I gave up.
After installing FLATBOOTS is gave me an internal Error 500. I tried to reach out to your services which I was expecting a response days ago. I finally was able to fix the issue, and thought of giving flatboots one more change.
I really need help or some orientation as I can’t find anything over your forums either I am unable to change my header, logo, text, links, footerlinks and color. Every article I try to consult, looks like Chinese to me.

I developed a premium extension (think about this like a plugin, where you place it in a folder on the server and then you install it via the Admin Control Panel) where you can setup forum memberships. it has many options, like time frame, special group auto-move and even force the forum to be paid membership only…

Those are all paid premium. Thy have been developed and maintained for years now and are very popular among my clients. They love using those.
You can actually see some demos of these type of extensions on the actual theme demo link on the main page.
I just wanted to point out that these are not needed for the theme of course. This development is called premium because its extra/independent and exclusive for the buyers who want to enhance their forum to professional levels. I have many clients who actually make revenue thanks to my products. For example A Digital market system or a subscription system (BBmembership) and many more.
In other words there are tons of products and they range from super fun to super productive It depends on what type of forum you are building or already have.

Hi, so what you see in the example screenshot is basically the post from X forum. In ACP you’ll be able to select where you want the topics to show from…
There are no other blocks though.. things like clock, last attachments its really a dated concept. Those are all useless blocks. they just fill up a space and give the user absolutely nothing. Like think about blocks like a clock, or attachments… () which are all part of these portals on phpBB) They have no purpose. use major server resources with no benefits for the users.
That’s why I developed an extension that act as a front page and show what the users really care on a forum. “Topics” With the eye candy of the modern tech like animation etc.
There is another extension of mine which is called “BBsidebar” and allows to add up to 10 blocks…

I am a potential buyer in the future, however I cannot decide whether I would get myself a FLATBOOTS or BBOOTS package.
What are the differences in both of these styles? I know that FLATBOOTS is a more recent style, and that BBOOTS looks more like it’s supposed to work with social media (meanwhile FLATBOOTS seems more independant here). Also I noticed that FLATBOOTS is priced by 6$ more on the market.

They are both great styles and yes FLATBOOTS is indeed the latest style…
The key differences beside the style design are: BBOOTS is for Admins users who likes to have many info displayed at all time. For example their user profile information or board information, links, widgets etc etc.
FLATBOOTS is geared toward the “post content” rather than anything else that is usually just taking away from the main discussions, just like the user profile with tons of info etc.
As you noticed FLATBOOTS is a newer design and more popular therefore there has been a lot of premium work developed , like premium extension, tutorials, special layouts etc.
There are TONS of free addons available and also many Premium addons developed by me and for FREE.
The premium paid addon are considered custom freelance work. These are NOT needed for the theme to work but they are an optional addition to enhance an Admin’s community.

This information is exactly what I needed to ‘influence’ my decision 
In this case I’ll most likely go for FLATBOOTS, as I like the theme layout and I think that it will fit my casual community more, because it looks less complicated for the end-user.
I like what it’s doing to the phpBB framework, and the extensions are basically bringing a lot of the “Vanilla Forums” features into the wonderful phpBB script.

Sure you can. After the purchase you should be able to find the theme purchase code from your download dashboard. With that code, you can register on the official client support forum:

Keep in mind translations are from other clients like you, therefore user based.
