Hi There,
I am yet to purchase the BREEK WP theme. I have question before I pull the trigger.
I just want to know whether post content area (when sidebar is NOT present) could adjust to be a bit narrow.
Currently, on demo Breek sites, when the sidebar is not there the width of the content area is too wide for my liking.
Is it possible to adjust visually the width of the post content area?

Many many thanks for the answer. I need to do it by post by post. I mean I need the narrow for certain posts but I need sidebar for some other posts. Is it possible?
With the code, it might change for all the posts but I need to this for only a handful of posts. I hope it is clear.

No no, the code will work only for those posts which sidebar is not included (only that specific layout), for your classic posts (with sidebar) no code will be applied.

Check if you have any cache plugin or cache system installed, maybe that’s why you don’t see all posts with the same styles.
I’m having some issues with your theme setup. When I first purchased this theme it did not use the Merlin setup wizard. Now, it is acting as though I haven’t setup the theme because I haven’t gone through the merlin theme setup. So as of now I cant access theme options. In addition when I purchased I asked if I could use this on a multisite environment so I added the theme to two sub sites of the multi site network. But now when I attempt to go through the process of the Merlin theme setup wizard, it says my purchased code is already active.
With this setup I can’t make any changes to the theme like change my logo. I use the theme on two sites, but I can’t access theme options on either as of now. Please help as this was not an issue when I purchased.

About merlin just click return to dashboard at the bottom.

After reactivating my license code and clicking customize it says this “You’re not authorized to access this page.” Plus there is no theme options in admin. ?
Check if you have the same version of the Theme and Breek functions plugin. If you have a lower version of breek plugin, you will need to remove and re-install from appearance -> install plugins.
If that do not work, you will need to open a new private ticket https://estudiopatagon.ticksy.com/ with admin credentials to do a check.
It worked for one of the two subsites on my multisite network. As I mentioned before when I originally purchased, there was no need to use the purchase code for activation. I went ahead and setup two site using Breek. Now one of them works good and I can access theme options, the other wont let me access theme options because it says license is already activated.
Nevermind, while the license can’t be added again. I can now at least see theme options inside the wordpress customizer.
Pre-purchase questions: First of all this theme is simply awesome, the design and codes are fantastic. I have just a few questions, as I will buy this theme asap. 1: Is it compatible with Woocommerce, can use it with my current shop? 2: I know it’s a blogging theme, but what about pages, how do they work in WP, if I have pages, will I need to convert them to post formats? 3: If I want a full-width homepage, with the grid carousel, can this be done via theme customization? 4: Can the menu button reflect a login/register CTA, recognizing the visitor? 1.- Not fully compatible (with our design), if you need a full compatible Woocommerce theme, Reco is a better option.
2.- We have standard pages, basically you can use them with/without sidebar like this one: http://estudiopatagon.com/themes/wordpress/breek/features/
3.- Our custom homepages use a minor page builder (modules), here is how they work http://estudiopatagon.com/themes/docs/breek-wp/#tu-3 (you can drag&drop to create an articles carousel + grid posts like this demo: http://estudiopatagon.com/themes/wordpress/breek/home-carousel/
4.- Not possible, you will need a customization for that.

When you say “not fully compatible” what do you mean, what features are not there? It does seem like Reco is a better option, however there are certain features that I like in the Breek, such as the rounded posts and gaps between contents, it makes it look cool. By any chance, is this option available in the theme’s customioser? Also, can the background be customized, with the gradient look? What about the colors, what if I want it dark mode? Can fonts size be modified for content and headers?
I am planning to use Woocommerce with Memberships and Subscriptions plugin, so I am wondering if they will work properly, even on the Breek.
Really like the Breek aspect and willing to buy, just for the sake of it, even Reco, if it can look like Breek and have Woocommerce stability in the same time.

I managed to get some info about image sizes defined by your theme. You have defined these image sizes:
- epcl_admin_thumb 100x100 / 1:1
- epcl_classic_post 850x600 / 17:12
- epcl_single_standard 950x500 19:10
- epcl_single_related 600x450 / 4:3
- epcl_single_content 700x450 / 14:9
- epcl_page_header 1950x500 / 39:10
- epcl_widget_thumb 120x120 / 1:1
- epcl_large 1600x1200 / 4:3Aspect ratio of epcl_classic_post is almost 4:3, epcl_single_standard almost 16:9. You have to keep in mind that common photography aspect ratios are 4:3 and 3:2, For video 16:9 is common standard.
Both epcl_admin_thumb and epcl_widget_thumb are rudimental, as we could easily set WP thumbnail to cropped square, on which case actually 360×360 or 480×480 would work best for most cases.
It’s actually wise to load one large image instead of multiple versions of this image! Images are cached by browsers and well scaled. As Wordpress provides 1536 and 2048 images, the 1600×1200 for 3:4 aspect ratio should be replaced with 2048 pixels.
If to use some css dropping tech then epcl_page_header can be replaced with WP standard 2048 image.
According to this none of these extra image sizes are actually needed if proper CSS is used and wasting disk space and inodes could be easily avoided.
These Media settings for images should work fine and will avoid generation of space wasting versions of images.
- Thumbnail: 360×360 - Medium 1024x - Large 2048x

In case you decide to purchase the theme, probably you will need a developer to remove those image sizes in case you don’t want them.
But just to clarify, all modern webhosting services includes a large amount of disk space so i don’t think it would be a problem.
About image dimensions, if i use 1024px on all grid or classic posts lists, that will be marked as not optimized by several speed tests, also there will be design issues.
There are more technical reason to not to use a low amount of image dimensions, but i can’t detail them in public, but for sure i have invested a lot of testing time to make all components for the theme as fastest as possible.

This theme looks nice. Sadly no much information available about customization. My biggest concern is about additional images which theme might produce.
How many extra image sizes this theme generates and is there easy way to not use any of them to avoid waste of space and inodes?

About the purchase key, is limited to 1 per domain, if for any reason you are migrating your website (or changing domain) you must deactivate the license on EstudioPatagon -> license page before moving.

I’ve another question though, I’ve been looking to dequeue/deregister the inlined content from the critical-css.php file in the header of a specific page (in order to enqueue another customized critical-css.php file after that) but haven’t been able to do it. Using the ID (epcl-theme-critical-css) to dequeue it doesn’t seem to work.
How can I target it?

Is this an “as is” theme? No customization for tags, posts, images?

It is a minimal theme, but includes several options, for example:
- The categories can be changed in terms of background color and typography, but not in terms of padding or width.
- The posts includes several layouts (classic, fullwidth, nosidebar, etc).
- The image sizes can’t be changed.

Me preguntaba si este theme tiene la opción de agregar 3 o 4 posts entre el carrousel y las últimas entradas básicamente tener post estáticos en el home.
También si se cuentan con opciones para cambiar el color del fondo o el fondo de las entradas.

Asi como tener 4 posts totalmente en bloques separados no se puede, pero si por ejemplo activas 4 sticky posts seria un resultado bastante similar (siempre se veran esos 4 articulos arriba).
Otra opción seria crear 2 carousel, el 1ro con todos los post que quieras y luego uno con una categoria especial (donde estarian solo esos 4).
Y si, tenemos opciones para los 2 fondos.
