ThemeCatcher replied To fix the iPad/iPhone problem, make the following change to these files header.php…....

1 – Grate, the display problem on my ipad 3 is solved through your code! Thank you for your response.

2 – Congratulation, your Quform plugin is simply fantastic and so easy to use, very intuitive. Bravo !

Hi again, I have couple of questions on the included quform functionality. 1- Using the included register form, I don’t get the new users included in the Wordpress’s user list. What do I need to do to sync these forms entries with the native wordpress users list. And I would add more registration fields if possible. 2- User profile. How will I create a front end user profile form with quform that can also synch with backend wordpress user profile information.

Any information, and/or documentation in relation this type of usage of the quforms that will be great.

thanks

The register form was intended as a “Register for newsletter” type form, not site registration. You could then save the data to your newsletter list.

However it is possible to create a user from the form data. To add more fields just edit the form and add them, in your registration function you’ll need to add more code to save the new fields with your form data.

It would take a lot of custom development to create a frontend user profile.

crazy4beatz SAYS – When clicking on the “live preview” of storm/wordpress on iPhone, your demo site loads properly with the themeforest banner at the top. It is fully usable. If I were to then click “X Remove Frame” the site then reloads and doesn’t work at all.

And when i click the “Remove frame” on your demo than it looks like mine site, with zoom…Help ! 2- It is possible to hide the menu when a video is playing on background ? Thanks.

1. We are looking into this just now.

2. You can use the Intro Page page template, see “Creating an intro page” in the documentation.

Hello,

I’m having a couple of issues regarding the site and I’m hoping you can help.

1. What is the difference between a portfolio and a galleria? And which is the best to use to showcase a collection of images? I am a photographer, and I want to create multiple galleries based on subject. You can see an example of what I mean here: http://jamiebettsphoto.com/blog/portfolio/ How do you go about getting the images to show? I have them uploaded and categorized. I read the documentation and it was not clear on how to get this to work.

2. I cannot get my video intro to work in Safari or to show as an HD video in Firefox. Is there something I’m doing wrong?

3. Is there any way to remove the Left Note Block on the home page? I don’t want there to be any text blocks on the home page.

Thank you in advance. Jamie

OK I understand the concept of creating a page and linking it to the portfolio, but I still don’t understand how and where I upload the images. I have about 20 or so per gallery. When I upload the images to the page, it displays them in a blog-like setting, where I have to scroll down on the page to view them. I want them to show up more like a slide show. What am I doing wrong?

The other two issues have been fixed. Thank you!

I figured out how to make the portfolio work. Thank you!!

One other question, is there anyway to have a static background image on the blog page?

If you’ve created a page for your blog page, edit the page and down at the Storm settings, upload a single image at the “Background images” option.

Regards, TC

Thanks, you’re the best! :) Arnaud

Hi! I bought this great theme. Serene with vertical images are not adjusted to the height. There is no way for this? i tried with different Serene gallery settings per page, but it should be an option as: ” $options[‘HEIGTH’] = 100%; ” It is impossible? In a future update of the theme?

Thanks in advance! and sorry for my bad english! :) Arnaud

I will look into support for these images, we are releasing a new update soon, so I’ll see if I can get support into that version. I will let you know.

Regards, TC

The update is now live and portrait sized images are now locked to 100% height and centered in the browser. You can download the updated version from your Downloads tab on ThemeForest.

Regards, TC

Hi again,

I just wanted to check back in to see when you are planning to release the next version you mentioned. Look forward to it. thanks

We are spending a little more time to see if we can improve compatibility with mobile devices and tablets, but it shouldn’t be too much longer.

Hello. When clicking on the “live preview” of storm/wordpress on iPhone, your demo site loads properly with the themeforest banner at the top. It is fully usable. If I were to then click “X Remove Frame” the site then reloads and doesn’t work at all. It only loads the top left corner of the site and I am unable to scroll or view any content. This is what happens when I load my storm/wordpress site up (www.astickynug.com). Please help!

Hi, Thanks for letting us know.. we will work on fixing the issue and release an update asap.

I’ll keep you posted.

Perfect! now works on iPhone 4S (960×640). thanks a ton for the a+ support

What is the best way to include additional ‘Jquery’ plugins (.js files) and functionalities? In this case I am referring to adding jquery.imagemapster.js and adding it’s functionalities. This provides enhanced imagemapping capabilities with annotations and highlights. thx

In the functions.php file add the code like so:

add_action('wp_enqueue_scripts', 'mytheme_custom_js_plugins');

function mytheme_custom_js_plugins()
{
    wp_enqueue_script('myplugin', TCR_URL . '/js/myplugin.js', array('jquery'), false, true);
}
This assumes you have uploaded the js file into the /storm/js/ folder. See also wp_enqueue_script.

i saw that there is a size limit for the audio file.. with little size around max 1mb it works.

Hi! im trying to add an audio background in a single page. I added a .mp3 file with success , but when i visit that page the track is not starting. Also if i click on the play button. Nothing happen… I checked also the auto-start option… without success… I tested the page with different browsers (explorer, chrome, firefox and safari)

any suggestion?

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the cufon changes you mentioned working.

I tried it with the sample you provided, it worked. I changed the font to my own font, it didn’t work. However, I know my font works because I already included this font to the main list of cufon fonts, and when I select it through Global / Fonts admin page, it works fine.

Probably the ‘cufon-nilland’ parameter is the cause of my problem. I didn’t know exactly what to use here, but tried it with several different names related to my font (Familyfont name, name etc.) , but I was unsuccessful. I also kept the way it is just case there is a script with that exact name although it seemed pretty linked to the font you used.

Where do you think I am making the mistake?

Do you have the BWP -Minify plugin installed? It’s possibly caching the JavaScript. Disable the plugin during development and also try force refresh (Ctrl+F5) if you’re using Firefox. I tested it with the code I posted and it worked for me. The cufon-nilland parameter can be anything, it won’t be the cause of your problems.

Regards, TC

It worked. Thank you.

I found out the problem and fix it. I’ll keep my right for an another question:-)

Thanks for this nice template. I need to use storm in 3 languages. I know how to use Polylang plugin from my other installations so I preferred to use it on storm too. Unfortunately I can not manage to show the lang flags or texts at the end of the menu, as usual. Have you ever tried to use polylang with storm? If you can check and advise me which plugin should I use I’ll be appreciated.

Sure I will wait for the next update. It will be much easier and cleaner.

Thank you for being very prompt and helpful with your support.

I have a question… for mobile iDevices where the background video opens in a new window and prevents them from browsing the site, is there a way to suppress background video for mobile devices?

Or can we perhaps have the intro page with a mobile background and some check where if its a mobile device it bypasses the intro page and goes straight to the home/menu page where I could then set background images only?

I sent you an email about this.

Regards, TC

Also – can you please tell me how to use multiple cufon fonts on the site. Using the admin page, I can only set one cufon font per site. If I also wanted to use another cufon font other than the one I set via the admin page on just one page (not the whole site), how would I do that? thank you

In the storm/functions.php file add the following code, change the path to the URL of your other cufon font.

add_action('wp_enqueue_scripts', 'mytheme_cufon_scripts', 9);

function mytheme_cufon_scripts()
{
    wp_enqueue_script('cufon-nilland', TCR_URL . '/fonts/Nilland_400.font.js', array('cufon'), false, true);
}
In the theme options panel, Advanced -> Custom JS, add the following code, change the selector and font family to suit.
Cufon.replace('h2', { fontFamily: 'Nilland' });

Thank you for your answers and the links you provided. I will try the code snippet you provided. Widget link works well, but unfortunately, BuddyPress additional plugin didn’t help as much. When it comes to coding, I am pretty novice therefore, I couldn’t make that plugin working since it involved changes on the theme files and css files. Someone with more experience can probably make it work.

I have one more question though?

Is it possible to to create a template where I have a left side note as well as similar right side note. I am not sure how this will work with the current setup of wordpress pages though, since each note section will need it’s own content. If you have any idea or advice you can give on how to create a page where have multiple note sections are available (if all possible off course)

Thanks much

Thank you for the update. I have downloaded the file from the download section, but haven’t installed it yet. I just wanted to quickly verify the steps you recommend to do this upgrade. Will this upgrade override any of the configurations I have done to this date. Will any of the forms, style and JS adjustments that I made be impacted? I don’t think I have made any changes to the original files, but rather I believe I only used the designated JS and CSS sections of the theme. Just want to make that I don’t loose any of the settings when I do this upgrade. Thank you again.

And if you could provide the list of the changes to this upgrade, that will be helpful so I know what other options/functions have changed. thank you.

If you haven’t changed any files you can activate another theme e.g. TwentyEleven, then Delete the Storm theme. Then install the latest version of the theme, your options etc will be saved. Quform has not changed, so don’t touch that.

To be safe you should backup the theme files and your database incase you lose anything. The changes are listed in the item description and on the changelog. If you have changed any files make a copy of it then merge the changes back into the new version of the file.

Once installed, perform a Save on the theme options panel to reset the custom CSS cache. Also clear the BWF Minify cache in that plugins settings if you use it.

Not many options have changed, most changes were in the Background -> Images (some options removed) and Portfolio -> Full Screen (some options removed).

Hi i purchased this great wordpress template. Im a newbie… and im trying to start the site with my “intro page”... without success.. can you give me some tips please?

In the documentation, see the section “Creating an intro page”.

Regards, TC

Very nice template.

I have couple of questions. 1- Intro Page: Is it possible to add content and javascript to this page. Curently, I have some content on the page, but it does’t show it. 2- BuddyPress: Does this theme support BuddyPress Plugin? I tried it, but buddy press pages are misaligned with the Storm Template. 3-Widget: Is it possible to show different widgets on different pages?

Thanks

1. You can edit the template-intro-page.php file and after the line <div id="content"> add the following code

<div class="content-outer clearfix">
        <div class="content-inner">

            <?php tcr_before_content_style(); ?>

            <div class="content-style <?php tcr_content_style_class(); ?> clearfix">

                <?php tcr_before_content(); ?>

                <div id="content">

                    <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

                        <?php get_template_part('content', 'page'); ?>

                    <?php endwhile; ?>

                </div><!-- #content -->

                <?php tcr_after_content(); ?>

            </div><!-- .content-style clearfix -->

            <?php tcr_after_content_style(); ?>

        </div><!-- .content-inner -->
    </div><!-- .content-outer -->

2. It’s not been tested, have you tried this plugin?

3. A quick search turned up this plugin which may do what you need.
