Make sure you are cropping the image icons properly so there’s no empty space around them. About the size, 1:1 aspect ratio so 100×100 or 200×200 works well

So, I removed one of the older post types that were imported with the demo and re added it, but what I realize is that it pushed one of the newer listing types out, so it seem to only be showing a select (option) of maximum 5 listing types, the thing is I have 9 listing types on the website.

Yup, definitely only showing 5 options. I created a test listing type and it just push the listing type at the end off.

There’s 400kb of scripts, most of which are not even theme scripts. If you need to use google maps, you have to load their scripts. If you use google fonts, same way. A page builder? Also its own scripts. Of course we try to optimize our code where this is space, however your conclusion that MyListing is somehow heavier than other similar themes is not correct and we’re happy to prove that.

Don’t get me wrong, of course improvements can be made, like with any other theme, and switching to another theme is your choice. However, I have to challenge that specific claim as it is not valid during all our testing.

I never said “MyListing is somehow heavier than other similar themes”. I said quite the contrary, actually, “It’s still much better than most Themeforest themes”.

That being said, webpagetest.org shows your demo site at a total size of 1,230 KB and a CLS score of 0,423(!). A (somewhat) similar free theme comes in right around 900KB with a CLS score of 0,125. Your theme, according to pagespeed insights, does not pass the Core Web Vitals test, while the latter, with a bit of optimization, does.

I’d love to get rid of those 400KB of third party scripts, but you don’t give users the option to do so. Therefore we’re all stuck with this 400KB load regardless of whether we need it or not.

Don’t get me wrong either – Your theme has a ton of features, it’s extremely easy to use, and, like I said, is still faster than most (if not all) themes available on ThemeForest. I’m not even aware of other themes that have built-in caching, so kudos for that.

It’s just still not fast enough for Google’s publicly-declared ranking “standards”. I personally couldn’t justify investing further in MyListing for this reason alone, and I think it’d be a great selling point if you could make changes to make it fast enough to pass CWV (By switching to a lighter page builder, maybe, giving users the option to disable unwanted features, deferring stuff, etc)

As I said above, happy to make a head to head comparison when your site is ready. I don’t know what the demo of that theme contains. You should compare under the same conditions to get a clear picture. CLS score is easy improvable. Simply enabling a loading animation affects CLS score negatively while most people agree that it affects UX positively, letting the user know things are happening when he clicks something or visits a page.

Most of the 3rd party dependencies could be dequed aswell. But If your directory depends on location searching, sacrificing map functionality to increase some arbitrary score it’s not really worth it.

PS: Very curious to know how a free theme is somehow similar in terms of functionality.
