1- Sorry, due to the really custom nature of the design (that has things like a custom slider with icon tabs in the profile pages instead of the classic BP row of links in order to make it look different than the average BP theme) plugins that may work in a vanilla theme, may require some code customization in order to integrate them. 2-5- Please, send us a DM through our profile page https://themeforest.net/user/odin_design so we can send you some login credentials and link to the test demo. Yes, only dark version is possible (you can turn off the “light/dark” switch. 3- This will depend on your hosting provider. The current hosting we’re using for the live preview is this https://bit.ly/315RmG7 and the service is Cloud Startup. Please keep in mind that it will always depend on the scale of your project, so we strongly recommend talking with them in order to see what service will suit your needs. 4- Register is managed by the WP login/register pages. We disabled it in the live demo to avoid spam.

Hi heritagelifecare, there’s no option to keep it open by default, but since one of our latest updates, we added a feature that if users open the side menu and don’t close it, it will remain open (this works with cookies) so the open/closed depends on user preference. Best Regards!

If you haven’t done much yet, we recommend you to do a clean install to start again to make sure that the things you’ve done don’t interfere with the setup (we recommend this because the issue seems to be with your installation, because other people were able to install it and make it work OK)
After that you first have to install and setup the theme you can do it following the docs: https://odindesignthemes.com/vikinger-theme-docs/ inside “Getting Started” – “How to Install” “Theme Setup” (this is an important step as you need to correctly customize the BuddyPress setting to make sure everything works OK). After that, check this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXEgduXEupk to import the demo content
Doing this things in order is very important for the process as failing to correctly setup BuddyPress may lead to errors or styling issues. If you install the latest version, you can see all steps in the “Getting Started” tab
Keep in mind that some plugins may require that you run the plugins installer a couple of times (you can see this in the video guide).

By any chance are you located in a country that blocks GitHub? Because those plugins are hosted there and we heard from some customers that the can’t install them because the site is geo blocked.
I don´t think so, I live in western Europe. The theme can download only what is in wordpress.org, the rest of the plugins is not possible

I love the template.. But I am stuck.. I am trying to edit the Keymaster Role to have a different background color and I believe this template is stopping me from doing so. I tried using sources I found online for bbpress forum user role color changes.. I am trying to change the “keymaster” role to a image instead but it just wont show.. Do you have any ideas?

You can find the forum reply author template in the “vikinger/template-part/forum/forum-reply-author.php” file.
One way to achieve what you need is to customize the “vikinger-forum-reply-author-role” paragraph element (line 75 of the mentioned file) to include a class denoting that the author is a keymaster and add some custom styles that change the display of the element based on that class.

The features that the theme uses are included in the GamiPress free version, but please keep in mind that some of the premium addons may need some customization work in order to integrate them with the theme. What we also need to warn you about is that some of the theme’s plugins are hosted via GitHub and we know of people from some places that weren’t able to use them because the site is geo-blocked, so please keep that in mind! I wanna build a community and that theme looks perfect for it, but I have a question. To grow something is a long and tough way, so is there a possibility to use only my own profile (profile timeline layout) in the beginning as the main page and if people are interested to join, that I can grow and grow it with adding more and more to the page? Also is there a possibility to reply on timeline posts if you are not signed up, like with email, twitter or fb log-in data?

Hi Divvy, you can find all the info about support inside the theme, in the “Support” tab. Regarding groups creation, groups must be created from the front-end (not WP panel) We created a system so users can easily create and manage groups. Just go to your front-end settings menu (the cog wheel icon at the top right when you’re in your profile inside the website) and click on “Manage Groups”. There you’ll be able to create them, change settings, promote users and more!.
