Oh, and also, is there a way to justify the text to the right for the footer text? The one found under Carrino: Theme Settings> General Settings?

Hi,

No, but you can easily build one with contact form 7 (which is supported)

You can change the text alignment in CSS. Do you have a footer menu too or just the footer text (E.g footer text to the right, no menu or footer text and menu to the right)?

Hi,

Thanks for your message.

WordPress generates .JS/CSS files and your theme or plugins might generate additional CSS/JS which can cause render blocking.

Things you can try include combining CSS/JS or delivering CSS/JS inline.

You can play with Autoptimize settings which has options for inline/combining CSS/JS .

You can never eliminate render blocking entirely but by combining or inline you can reduce it.

Hi Steve,

I’ve recently purchased your theme and so far it’s almost perfect but I just have a few things that I can’t quite figure out. First, I tried to make the hero image a slider but nothing happens, it remains static. I didn’t enable the static page because I’m not sure if I’d have to build it or how. Second, for some reason the posts showing on my page stop after 4 posts rather than fill the selected masonry column width (I chose 3, and only the first row shows three and and then the second row only shows 1 post). My URL is aishawilsonblog.com. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

In order to use the Hero slider you need to first select “Slider” for the layout (which you have done). You then need to set the number of posts to more than 1. You can additionally set the number of slides to show (this turns it into a carousel if you set more than 1)

You can increase the number of posts per page in WP settings. Settings > Reading > Blog pages how at most

Thanks so much for the fast response! Just one more question about the Instagram feed. I tried using the one in your theme but it kept returning a 200 error, so I kept the old one I had, but I notice that it’s so much smaller than what’s shown in your demo (and I also loved the rounded corners of the pictures). Just wondering if the WP Insta plugin is compatible with business accounts? Or is it just that I couldn’t connect it properly? I know this is 3rd party so if it’s not supported by you I undestand. Thanks in advance!

WP Instagram Plugin is now discontinued but Carrino also supports SmashBalloon Instagram feed with full theme styling https://wordpress.org/plugins/instagram-feed/

What you see in the demo is the SmashBalloon plugin.

Hi,

Make sure you have installed and activated the Hero Plugin (at the top of the admin panel you will see a prompt to download all Carrino plugins). Once installed the Hero image will display by default. YOu can then edit the settings in Appearance > Customize > 340 Media: Hero Settings

Yes I have already downloaded the Hero PlugIn and I have gone to the 340 Media: Hero Settings and selected Display Hero, Layout = slider and still nothing shows up. I am using the Carrino Theme (not the Carrino – Child) .... can’t figure out what I am doing wrong.

Hero only display posts with featured images. If the posts you set to display have no featured images nothing will display.

If that still does not resolve the issue you can email a temporary wp-admin login and I can take a look for you. 340@3forty.media

Hi,

You can download the latest version from your downloads page.

Backup your current parent theme and all modifications. Then either upload via FTP overwriting the existing parent theme OR deactivate and uninstall the current parent theme then install and activate the new parent theme. Add your modifications back in.

Hi,

thanks for the theme!

Just a couple of questions:

- When I’m writing a post and I start a list, there is an option to introduce the start value for the list number. However, when you change the start value number, the circle that ones surrounding the number disappear.

- On the other hand, when I start a list with the dots, the list goes far to the left of the page and it doesn’t align with the rest of the text/paragraphs.

How can I fix these?

Thanks for your message.

Other than the obvious styling differences;

1. Ruki features “In Loop” sidebars/widget areas

2. Ruki has additional header layouts

3. Ruki supports up to 4 columns (Carrino maximum 3)

4. Ruki supports video embeds in post loops and blocks (Video format)

5. Ruki plugins have a few more database query settings

Carrino is a little lighter with less options, both are optimized for Gutenberg.

Hi Steve,

I have a few questions I would like answered before buying your theme, which I really like.

I am new to the “blog world” so forgive me in advance if my questions seem odd.

Is it possible to change the size of the blocks and of the image displayed? I would like my hero to be the grid (3 posts) with the 3 latest posts but with way smaller image and with a small extract of the article.

Under that I would like a block with 3 columns of 4 articles, like you have at the bottom of your demos, but with “Featured articles”, “Most read” and “Editor’s pick”.

And then all the articles with a small extract one under another.

Is this possible with your theme and with my very limited coding skills?

Hi,

Thanks for your message.

You would not be able to achieve what you without significant modifications to the plugins. Hero has two styles neither of these styles give you the layout you want and featured posts only support grid layout.

Some users have used Elementor or similar page builder plugins to achieve more complex layouts but I don’t offer any support for page builders. Here is an example of Carrino theme and Elementor page builder layout https://kitchenswagger.com/

Yes, that’s possible with some modifications to both the plugin files and CSS. However, If you have limited coding experience then I would say No.

I am using the Polylang plugin to offer a German and an English version of my site. Now I have a problem translating the title of the Featured posts on the homepage into two different languages since it is a user-textbox. I want to show a German title on the German page and an English title on the English page. Is this possible? How?

WPML plugin allows the translation of customizer text strings so I would assume Polylang does too?

If you simply want to replace published date with modified date you can replace his line in template-parts/meta-after-title.php

Line 60:


<time datetime="<?php echo get_the_date( 'Y-m-d' ) ?>"><?php echo get_the_date( ) ?></time>

Change to this:


<time datetime="<?php echo get_the_date( 'Y-m-d' ) ?>"><?php echo get_the_modified_date() ?></time>

Hi,

It looks like the video is hard coded (the markup is coded into the content rather than using the embed feature.). Carrino is a Gutenberg theme but does support classic editor embeds but because the video is hard coded and not embedded with one of the embed features the responsive wrapper function will not run. You need to use the embed feature to generate the proper markup to display responsive videos.

Try bulk updating your posts to trigger the built in theme wrapper function. Here’s a good guide https://mekshq.com/bulk-update-posts-wordpress/

Finally, if you are not already using Gutenberg you can enable it which may also convert your video embeds to a Gutenberg block.

I see space at the bottom now that the posts no longer fill the space (isn’t this what you wanted?)

It sounds like you might need to change the number of posts per page to be divisible by three so that you do not have empty cells. (unless you do not have enough posts to fill all the spaces)

Settings > Reading > Blog pages show at most. Change to a number divisible by three (E.g. 12)

Hi,

Carrino works with the latest version of WordPress 5.7.2 but some of the Gutenberg editor styling does not match (works in the front end but has styling inconsistencies in the editor). I am releasing an update later this month that fixes the editor styling issues.
