FYI, I just updated to 3.3.5 and purchased this theme and it seems to work great!

How do i make the header less space on top and bottom of the site description? I’m assuming it is in the merlin.css? There is too much space on our site in the header (https://forums.talkingevs.com)

Sorry forum is at www.talkingevs.com. and now I did something where site title and description won’t even show. How do I fix this?

Hi there,

Apologies for the delay – I’ve just replied to your email :)

Hello,
is the actual version v2.1.11 – 25 April 2021 compatible with the new phpbb 3.3.5 or should I wait with the phpbb update?

Yes, compatible with 3.3.5 update

Sorry, my Tech-Admin is unsure because there are changes in the js query of the prosilver-style. Are you sure Milk 2.1.11 works well with phphbb 3.3.5 ?

Sounds like your Tech Admin knows more than the style author. Ask them :)

Why can’t I be helped? I can’t get answers to my emails.

Hello, I have download the template but there is no image in the top banner like in the demo preview. Could you help me ? Url is www.milk-v2.com Thank you very much, Sébastien

Hi there,

Thanks for your patience while I was away on holiday.

I’ve just responded to your email :)

What is the best way to make the header area smaller?

Padding can be reduced. Can I ask which config you’re using?

Is the navbar set to inside header or outside? And which combination of logo, sitename and desc are you using?

Thanks!

Sure, Outside Header, Logo only.

Thanks!

It’s one of these lines in /theme/common.css, depending on whether your logo is center, left or right-aligned:

body.navbar_i_header .site-description {margin: 50px auto 100px;}
body.navbar_i_header .site-description.logo_left {margin: 100px 50px 100px;}
body.navbar_i_header .site-description.logo_right {margin: 100px 50px 100px;}

You’ll see 3 margin values. In this order (from left to right), they’re: top, left & right, bottom.

Adjust the first and third value accordingly. Save file, then clear browser cache :)

Is it html version of this template? Not for phpbb. Only html version?

phpBB only :(

Hello, does this theme have a sticky header function? I have been going through the demos and I’m not seeing this

Milk doesn’t, but our Volare theme does :)

Is there a way to add this… Cos I like the interface of the milk and I think it’s the only thing missing out. Can it be activated on the milk if I am to purchase it?

Hmm, not really. It’s a fiddly thing to code right, and needs lots of testing because of the different header configs :/

Hi guys

I cannot find Version 3 (purple/pink one) inside the installation files.

Please could you advise on where I can find it?

Also, when I click on preview item, I am not getting the demos I used to get a few weeks ago: where I could preview different forum templates and versions.

Thanks

Thanks!

Hi, I have tried that but it does not work. Could you please send me the missing ajax.js file?

Milk doesn’t have its own ajax.js file, as it inherits from prosilver. You can copy / paste the prosilver one into Milk’s template folder though :)

This Theme looks great. However i just noticed, that a update where released. I now got a little question regarding this and the next updates:

- How i can update the Theme Version without losing the current data & configuration?

- How i can add a custom scrollbar?

Hi there,

Apologies for the delay, our email was down for a few days.

Update info here: https://docs.planetstyles.net/article/9-how-to-update-theme-to-new-version

Custom scrollbars are simple to add with a few lines of CSS, but it’s not something we can help with directly.

Hi! So i just bought this style/theme because it seems the best right now. But i already install the style but the changes dont show.

i already clear cache from ACP but the changes dont happen. I use cloudflare because i have website and now forum but i already clear cache there to and still same.

i did some changes like the name (was phpBB and now have my “name”site) but logo dont changed using H2O ext. So is any way to make the changes happen?

I use “grid” option and this option doesnt work either. already changed name from my cache folder to force it to created a new cache and still the same.

Hmm, flightdeck configs aren’t cached so should take effect instantly.

You’ve mentioned the H2O extension, but this is the Milk comments section, so sounds like you might have the wrong control panel installed?

I think it would be an improvement in the next iteration to be able carry over the chosen layout for the index page, i.e. Forumlist Display: Grid (Icons), to the sub-forum layout. Currently, if you click on a sub-forum category from the index page, it will display a list. Perhaps I’m missing a setting because I noticed that the last demo, (3.3) Fluid + Grid + Sidebar + Headerbar Background + Particles seems to do exactly what I’m looking for, though I can’t seem to configure Flightdeck to mimic that layout. Advice welcome… :) profKRoy

Nevermind. I got it. Sidebars were not enabled.

I seem to be having an issue with the grid based layout. There are instances where the three panels are not evenly distributed from left to right on the rows. In some cases there may be only one panel in a row, followed by three panels in the following row. Also, there may be a row with only two panels, they both can be aligned to the right. Is there a solution or configuration setting in Flightdeck that I should look into? This occurs when the browser (Chrome) is set to 100%, though the panels will adjust correctly if I zoom in, or perhaps zoom out.

Grazi. Always looking forward to working with your theme. Excellent work. Can’t thank you enough for your time and dedication to improvements. profKRoy

Just following up on this. Sometimes the layout in Forumlist Display: Grid, will change so that the sub-forum list, displayed 3 to a row, will right align. So there may be a row of three, then on the next row there will be one sum-form box right aligned, then another row of two…that kind of idea. Seems to happen in multiple browsers, Safari, Firefox, Chrome. Can’t really pinpoint a direct cause, only that it appears intermittently, then will seemingly correct itself.

Still due to be investigated, but low priority.

A question: any extension for photo/video gallery ? example: https://i.ibb.co/CM1d6FD/Screen-Gif9.gif

Possibly. Best option is to ask on phpBB.com/community

On mobile there seem some css issue, can you help or tell how we fix

https://snipboard.io/2rYylK.jpg

We’ll look into it

I have everything installed. Most everything works except the social media share icons. They show up no where. And I really did not see anything in the documents that helps. Exactly what needs to be enabled to make them work, or is there a code I need to enter in the HTML section? I thought I enabled them, I even enabled then disabled then enabled just to make sure it was not a code glitch. But nothing whows

Site is here: https://yecheadquarters.org/forumphpbb/index.php

And here’s the themes loading score: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/yecheadquarters.org/BgiA4YgL/

Not too bad. I would not say it’s slow loading. It did have one 404 error in the waterfall section. It tries to load the favicon image which I do not have currently a link to, But will soon.

Hi there,

Can I ask what media share icons you’re referring to?

These aren’t a native feature in phpBB, are you using an extension? If so, can I ask which one?

Thanks

Okay, you had the social share icons in the example images of your theme so i thought they were part of the theme. That’s one reason I bought it My bad. Guess I go look for extensions.

If i decide to upgrade to php 8.0, does your theme and phpbb work with that? it’s no problem if it does not. Because i have to wait for a plugin on my wordpress to be upgraded to work with php 8.0 before I can. Everything else on my wp install already works. To bad my host does not have individual php version per install like the other host had.

Ah, the social footer is built into Milk: https://docs.planetstyles.net/article/41-milk-social-footer-options , although they’re only hyperlinks as opposed to share buttons.

Haven’t personally tested Milk on PHP 8

Hi i have a new issue. When me or any one try to edit his thread [not all the time], the forum stopped working at the person who edit not for all

Check this video: https://mega.nz/file/dNsQXCAT#ysLuDsWzCuyiorZWTua1If8S5jOnhmo49Iyrm4lKh8g

Can i know where is the problem ?

It looks like there’s a BBCode editor installed to your forum

Hi, i already tried to remove the BBCode plugin and have the same issue.

Milk is a front-end theme. The error you’re seeing technically can’t be caused by a theme.

I’d recommend asking over on phpBB.com for assistance

Everything in the demos can be replicated by configuring the options in the flightdeck extension :)

i couldnt success, can you give same setting as you did on your admin please, my site is back and now active.. please help

thank you

It says ‘phpBB Version:3.3.4 and lower’ but when you redownload file the updated version isn’t included. I see directories for 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 but no 3.4.

Correct. The 3.3.3 version works on 3.3.4 without any issues, which is why we’re advertising that compatibility.

Before purchase questions. 1) Are you planning in adding social logins? That’s a must for me to make it easy for people joining to join without having to do a bunch of typing and answering questions. I tried adding a extension on the original install but cannot get it working. So now I’m looking for a theme that already has one.

2) is the theme lightweight and fast loading? My forum will probably go viral. Most all my FB pages did until FB censored me so I want to make sure when many join there won’t be a overload problem. I paid extra to have a extra fast server. A step above SSD server.

3) Does it have lazy load on either the images or posts or both (both would be very cool)? Maybe that can be a future idea if not?

4) Do I have to do any coding? I bought one theme and any changes required me to code it. I’ve been out of doing coding for several years now, I’m almost 60 and do not want to get back into at my age. probably give me a huge headache. The guy did not mention it in his description of theme I bought.

BTW love the way it looks and how customizable it is. I just hope no coding is involved in using all the features. I can deal with a few things to code but not everything like the theme I bought and decided not to use.

If this works as good as it looks, I’ll have no problem directing traffic your way.

Hi there,

1) Social logins would need to be added through an extention that’s installed directly to phpBB. In phpBB, themes are generally front-end only, while most added functionality comes through extensions.

2) Average. We haven’t done a whole ton of speed optimisations. If you’re looking for the fastest phpBB theme, Milk isn’t the one for you.

3) Nope, that would be part of an extension as opposed to a theme

4) All of the changes are made through our control panel, no coding required at all :)

Okay thanks. I’ll just have to add a lazy load extension. Looks are a little more important than speed. Speed can always be obtained through other means.

A viewport that narrow should be displaying the mobile layout. Can I ask if this was taken on a mobile device, or element inspector? The element inspector won’t always give a fully true representation of mobile display

It has been an issue with this theme for quite a while. The issue is:

# ../buttons.css .hasjs .postbody .post-buttons { max-width: 60%; }

Should be set to 40% (like prosilver).

Interesting. You should be safe to make that change, I’m not aware of any conflicts it will cause. I’ll go ahead and merge that into the core for the next update.
