Good morning,
I am writing to ask you two questions.
1.- I can’t find the place where to include the buttons to access my social networks. I don’t mean the ones that appear at the end of each post. I mean the ones below the logo. I saw in your manual where they are indicated but they do not appear in appearance.
2.- I would like to know what fonts the theme uses. To be able to design and go according to other materials.
Greetings and have a nice day, Carlos
Hello Carlos,
1. Please read the guide at this link http://nordthemes.com/wp-content/Documentation/documentation.html#social-menu
2. The main font of this theme is Lora, secondary font is Raleway.
Thanks
Thank you,
Another question, what is the size of the blog banner to be able to adjust well the images?
Thanks and have nice day
Hello,
It doesn’t matter, as the image will automatically adjust to fit the dimensions. For good quality, use images in portrait orientation and at least 1000 pixels wide.
Thanks
Love this theme. A question: I am using Sidebar 4, and have a dotted border above and below the menu. In the Customizer, the border looks fine - however, in multiple browsers, there is lots of space between the menu and the borders. If you look at thehollywoodbeat.com you can see what I’m describing- the border brackets are pushed far from the menu text. I have adjusted the margins and padding a few times, in all directions, to no avail. Can you advise? Thanks.
Thanks, Corin
Hello Corin,
Please navigate to WP Admin -> Appearance -> Customize page. Open the Additional CSS tab. Enter the code:
.sidebar-nav .nav-menu {
border-top-color: #6b6ccb;
border-top-style: dotted;
border-top-width: 2px;
border-bottom-color: #6880c9;
border-bottom-style: dotted;
border-bottom-width: 2px;
border-top-left-radius: 19px;
border-top-right-radius: 19px;
border-bottom-right-radius: 17px;
border-bottom-left-radius: 17px;
width: 100%;
padding-top: 20px;
padding-bottom: 20px;
}
In the typography settings, remove border options for the menu so that there are no two borders.
Click the Publish button.
Thanks
Hello, is there a way to add a widget area in which to place a Page between the Header and the Content area? My site is https://turadenoapte.net and I’d like to add a banner and some text between the header area and the posts grid. How can I do that?
Thank you in advance…
Its alright, I figured it out :)) Thanks!
Beautiful theme. Is there an option to add a widget to the sidebar?
Hello,
You can try using Additional Content Areas in the Customizer for this. Just create a page and add a widget to it. Then go to the Customizer to the Additional Content Areas -> Sidebar section. Select the page you created earlier from the drop-down menu and click Publish.
Thanks
Just thought I’d let you know to check your WP compatibility. I am running v6.x and the sidebar image for posts and pages does not show the setting/meta box for either the classic and block editors.
ah…oops! Need the bundle. My bad!
Does the WIld Book theme work in Wordpress 6.0?
Hello,
Yes, the demo site of this theme is powered by WordPress 6.0 http://nordthemes.com/wild-book-demo/
Thanks
Hello. I’ve just purchased the Wild Book Theme and I like it. However, I don’t like the spacing between the menu [Default layout] and the headline/text on the page. Is there a way to reduce the white space?
Hello,
Please navigate to WP Admin -> Appearance -> Customize. Open the Additional CSS tab. Enter the code:
@media (min-width: 992px) {
.site-main {
margin-top: -1.5rem
}
}
Click the Publish button.
Thanks
Hey, folks, I have an issue with the Featured Image… it keeps vanishing from the sidebar of New Post or Edit Post… the option to change it (under EXCERPT and DISCUSSION) sometimes is there, sometimes it’s not. Anyone had this issue before? How can I fix it?
I fixed it with the help of blocks – there is a “Post Featured Image” block. I add the picture there and then I delete it if I have to.
Hello,
Could you test it with another theme? Is there the same problem if another theme is activated?
Thanks
Yup, I tried the Gym Bond free theme and the “Featured Image” section is missing from the right side of the “New Post” screen. It’s messed up somehow, but at least I can use the Post Featured Image block to get what I want
But I see there’s others with the same issue, this is the only thread I found.
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/missing-the-upload-featured-image-option-after-update-the-wp-5-9/Please try disabling all plugins, perhaps some plugin has a conflict and causes errors.
Hi again- How would I go about combining the sidebar background upload option and the featured image option so that I only have to upload one image? I don’t need to upload two different images per post, and the only reason I would like to have a featured image would be for the home page blog.
So I guess what I’m asking is way to make the sidebar image the default across the site instead of the featured post image.
All I need is the code and the files that I need to go, although if you’re willing to just add it as an update release, that would be awesome too.
Either way, any help/direction would be greatly appreciated.
One more question (thank you in advance for your patience! ) would it be possible to have the front page stay a list of posts, but the archive pages be a 3 column grid withOUT the excerpt (so just the featured image and title)?
Hello Tatiana,
1. To upload a general sidebar image navigate to WP Admin -> Appearance -> Customize page. Open the Sidebar Background Image section. Then select an image from the media library and click Publish. The image selected in this section will be displayed throughout the site, including pages that do not have a sidebar image selected.
2. Unfortunately, the theme does not yet support multi-layout for the blog. I am considering this feature for inclusion in future versions. Right now I can only give you the code that will disable the excerpt on the archives page, but the layout will be the same as everywhere else.
Thanks
1. Not really what I was asking. My question more has to do with altering the theme’s code so that the sidebar image IS the featured image, rather than having to upload two different images for each post.
2. I would appreciate it if this option is included in a future version.
Thanks.
Hello,
I know one way to implement it, maybe this solution will help you. Please navigate to the WP Admin -> Appearance -> Theme File Editor. In the sidebar named Theme Files, click “Theme Function”. Then scroll to line 913 in the editor window. Replace code:
$background_image_id = get_post_meta( $post->ID, 'left_side_background_image_id', true );
to
$background_image_id = get_post_thumbnail_id( $post->ID );
Then click the Update File button.
This improvement requires changes to the theme code, so after the next update, this fix will be overwritten. Therefore, after each update, you will need to make this change again.
Thanks
@NordStudio – thank you – that worked perfectly!
I’m getting ready to renew my support, and was wondering what part of WooCommerce doesn’t work with your theme. I saw a couple months ago you made a comment about it being on the roadmap. Do you have an ETA for it? If the ETA is pretty soon, then I’ll renew Wild-Book instead of looking for a new theme.
Hello,
All parts of the WooCommerce plugin work with our theme. WooCommerce is a flexible plugin and can work with all themes. The only thing that may be incompatible is the style of the theme and the style of the store (for example, button design or fonts). We are working on an update, but it may take a little longer because WordPress is preparing big changes in theme development and we are waiting for the next major update.
Now it is not necessary to renew support, you can do it when the update is released.
Thanks
Hello, can’t access demo data. Item says “done” but no data are imported. How can i solve this?
Thanks
Love your style NordStudio! Would you consider implementing a dark mode reading button in your theme?
Hello,
Unfortunately the theme does not support this feature yet, we will add it in future updates. Thanks
Can the navigation along the top be different to the navigation triggered by the hamburger navigation? Ideally I want the main navigation along the top and the hamburger navigation to be different.
Hello,
Yes, sidebar navigation and top navigation can be different.
Thanks
That’s brilliant, which navigation will then be the mobile version?
The mobile version displays both navigations. One is still as a hamburger icon, the second is displayed under the header with the “Menu” button
Can the navigation along the top be different to the navigation triggered by the hamburger navigation or is it just replicated?
Hello,
Yes, sidebar navigation and top navigation can be different.
Thanks
Hi,
I am in the process of creating a new site and struggling with masonry galleries on your theme.
I’ve tried adding one on my Home page using the Classic editor block but they just won’t display in the masonry format.
My blog page also won’t display in masonry format even though I have the Portfolio Masonry Grid template selected on my News page. Saying that none of the templates are recognised either (full width etc). I wanted my blog to look like yours does in Layouts/Blog Layouts/Masonry on the Live demo.
Many thanks.
IMPORTANT NOTICE. After updating to version 1.9.6, you may find that the logo on the sidebar has disappeared. We have made very important changes to the theme code for future updates. Please go to Customizer (Logo -> Sidebar Logo) and set the logo again. You will also need to set the logo size again.
It is also possible that in future updates there will be changes regarding navigation and the background of the sidebar. Your uploaded background and menus will not disappear. It will only be necessary to set it again in the Customizer.
Please accept our apologies for any inconveniences caused. Thank you for your patience.
Hi, I am thinking about using the Wild Book theme but need to know if each page can have a different image in the sidebar and can the homepage have a slideshow of 3 images in the sidebar?
Hello,
Yes, each page can have a different sidebar background. Unfortunately, the theme does not yet have an option for sidebar slideshow.
Thanks
Thank you for your quick response. I think as long as each page can have a different image that will be fine.
I’m using Wildbook theme with dynamic content and I’ve passed the left.side.background.image.id on a front page form so guests can write and publish posts from the front end.
However, I am not able to figure out what the id would be to pass the custom left sidebar image when updating a taxonomy.
I have built a custom taxonomy for authors and not able to change the image on the left. Here is a link: https://my.lastinglegacyonline.com/story-author/kay-mcfarland/
Thanks! Kerrice
Hello,
You need to edit the inc/class-wild-book-category-form-fields-setup.php file (line 15). Add a new taxonomy to the $taxonomies array.
Thanks
hi im reinstalling the wildbook theme and I cannot find the Wild Book Bundle plug in, is this still available? (im at WP version 5.9)
never mind found it
Hello, I really love the functionality and aesthetic of Wild Book Theme. I have a very long list of nested menu items in the sidebar menu. I need to add a scrollbar to the sidebar menu to see all the menu items nested in the drop down lists. I have tried the “Custom Scrollbar” plug in with limited success. The way I am implementing it seems to destroy the placement formating of my menu items. And I don’t know how to fix it. I appreciate any help or suggestions on getting a scrollbar in the sidebar menu area. Thank you.
