Update Theme

1. Download the theme again from the ThemeForest account, where you initially purchased it. The download will be under your buyer account – Downloads.

2. Unzip the theme pack

3. Go to wp-admin/Appearance-Themes and activate a different theme

4. Find realeswp theme and click delete.

5. Install again the theme from Appearance > Themes > Add New and select realeswp.zip from the latest theme pack

6. Activate the theme

IMPORTANT: all your theme settings will NOT change during this process. But the language files you had in the /realeswp/languages folder will be deleted if you choose this method and if your language files are not in child theme.

Hi. I’m finally getting to this. I have some questions:

Do I choose to download “Installable WordPress file only”?

2. Unzip the theme pack

This is simply unzipping the file that I just downloaded, correct?

3. Go to wp-admin/Appearance-Themes and activate a different theme

Currently I see that “RealesWP Child” is the only active theme. RealesWP and several others are inactive. For this step, am I to simply activate one of any of the inactive themes?

4. Find realeswp theme and click delete.

Ok, I’m assuming this is RealesWP and NOT RealesWP Child?

When I click Add New, and search the search bar for “reales” or “realeswp.zip” I don’t find anything but it then gives me the option to “Upload Theme”. I’m assuming that I am looking for the zipped file I just downloaded (as opposed to the version that I unzipped)?

I’m confused here. First, if I activate the new version that I just downloaded, waht will happen to my RealesWP Child theme? I know that I’ve made many code edits (with your assistance), will I lose these edits? Second, I’m not sure if I have language files and I can’t seem to figure out where to check or how to access ”/realeswp/languages” folder or if the files are in my child theme.

3. Yes, one of the inactive themes, so that it allows you to delete the Reales WP old verison.

6. If you don’t touch the child theme, nothing will happen.

I followed these directions carefully and it seems to have broken my site. Please help.

- Any reason why the shortcodes for “Recent Properties” and “Featured Properties” aren’t loading the images? (Home page-scroll down & About-Real Estate Info…-scroll down & & About-Vacation Rental Info…-scroll down)

- Any reason there is a ”>” after the menu title, “Search Properties For Rent” (Vacation Rentals-Search Properties For Rent)

- The search result map isn’t functioning the same way. It used to bring up all of the search result points on the map. (If you search all properties by type or amenity or neighborhood, the map result doesn’t function correctly)

- The “Like”, “Print”, “Views” & “Comment” buttons have returned to our property pages. I think I had you eliminate these before. Possible to remove them again?

1. I have disabled the “Like”, “Print”, “Views” & “Comment” on your website.

2. Search results should be the same as before, because you kept the search functionality in child theme.

I couldn’t find the other issues.

Also, I noticed that you had previously changed the Properties layout for me. It switched back to the default (top to bottom: Description, Share Property, Amenities, Additional Information, Similar Properties). Could you change it back to top to bottom: Amenities, Additional Information, Description, Share Property, Similar Properties?

Properties are WordPress custom post types and yes, they sould be available through REST API endpoints.

If you need to add REST API support for a custom post type or custom taxonomy you do not control, for example a theme or plugin you are using, you can use the register_post_type_args filter hook that exists since WordPress version 4.6.0.

You can add this to your child theme’s functions.php

We have added the code to the functions.php file as instructed and the endpoint is now available. But, the GET /properties returns only basic information of the property post_type.

How can we enhance it to return all the fields of the property including image urls

However, the GET request only returns a few basic information on the property like title, slug etc. We need to get all the details, fields and images of each property through the request.
