Ok – I dug deeper in the comments here. You stated 3 years ago it’s possible to start with the mini-sidebar by making a little change in the custom.min.js file. Is that also documented these days?

Leaves me with the other 2 questions:

- compatibility with the output of WordPress menu’s

- how to store the sidebar state in a cookie to ensure it opens in the same state when navigating to another page

But also with a new ones since so many questions never received feedback over the past years and the last update is from 15 July 2021.

I see wrappixel.com mentioned in the footer of the demo and as the author in several places in the files when looking at the source… (to find answers for my own questions).

For sure you improved the sidebar menu (with the wpmenu style) in your version here.

Oh – one more question… (when) will the Bootstrap version be updated to the latest 5.x version (currently v5.3.2)? Or does it ship with full support for that?

UPDATE: I also contacted the author via a support ticket here on ThemeForest. Took over 2 days to get an answer but at least I got a short answer.

They promote getting products via their own site as they seem to be updating products on their own site more frequently.

Elite Admin, here on ThemeForest, seems to be an older version and – might – receive an update in the future, but no guarantee.

Unfortunately, the feature I’m most interested in, the ‘wpmenu’ (see the Dark demo), is not included in any of their more recent products on their own website.

So far, I haven’t received a follow up response to additional questions in over 6 days so to me it looks like they are not paying attention to Elite Admin at all in the foreseeable future.

In the meantime I’ve done some ‘reversed engineering’ and figured out the answers to my own questions. So yes, with a custom menu walker it can work with WordPress managed menu’s. The cookie part I’ve figured out myself as well. Also, I can now start with the menu in collapsed state, but I’m really interested in how the author has tackled that (as mentioned in an earlier comment to wayfresh about 3 years ago and which is not visible in the “documentation”).

I reckon it will upgrade pretty smoothly to the latest version of Bootstrap (currently at 5.3.2 and has some nice additional features compared to the included 5.0.2, e.g. proper dark mode support) but I’ll have to see if it really does.

So yes – I’m now buying the product here knowing that it’s most likely only going to be a starting point and that I most likely don’t see any updated version here in the future. I consider this product currently as ‘abandoned’ unless Maruti / WrapPixel (hopefully) proofs me wrong.

For more advanced developers this is not per se a showstopper but I can imagine that for less advanced developers it might be the reason – NOT – to buy the product which is a pity because it is a really nice, feature rich, product with some features like the ‘wpmenu’ I haven’t see elsewhere so far as a Bootstrap ready solution.
