I am concerned and need some assistance before moving forward. In the description it says “The Elementor plugin and WPBakery Page Builder are supported as well (importable demo data are for the WordPress block editor only).”

Does this mean that I can’t import the demo content and then go though page by page with Elementor or WPBakery and replace the content that is currently in there? Will I have to completely redo the website? The goal is to not have to redo the entire site and only replace the text and pictures that is there now with my own. I want the site to look the same otherwise. Please advise.

Thanks!

Hi,

demo data can be only edited via built-in block editor (Gutenberg). However, this applies only to standard pages like home page(s) or contact form. All post type (event, document, listing, etc.) archives and detail pages are auto generated. So even if you want to use Elementor or WPBakery, you don’t have to redo the entire site, just a homepage and/or contact page.

Lubos,

Thank you for your reply. I have everything installed and followed the guide. The thing I can’t figure out right now is when I set the header image it does not move the home page content down to accommodate the image like it is on the demo site. How do I create that buffer space in between the header and the home page content?

Thanks!

Please share your URL so I can see it.

Your forum section does not have login and registration fields. No way to test it and how will real site users even login?

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, you missed the point.

When I visited – https://preview.themeforest.net/item/townpress-municipality-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/11490395 – please check it and you will see that it is not obvious that there’s a login field beside the username and password each. There is border on the fields so someone will not where to enter their details.

Do you understand now? Why is it so – Is this an issue with the theme or its background?

Right, that is a problem with the theme styling, I can give you a simple CSS which will make those fields more contrast.

I’m just letting you know so that people don’t complain about it. Thank you.

Hello, Thank you for your theme, which is really great—congratulations! The only issue I have is that I don’t see the full-width option in the page or block editor. I looked in the templates folder and there are only the templates not boxed, not-boxed-without-title, and boxed-without-title. Does the theme allow you to create full-width pages and blocks? Thanks in advance.

Please share the URL to a page which is set to this new template so I can take a look.

You have this CSS:

.page-template-not-boxed-fullwidth #core .lsvr-container { largeur max : 100% }

it should be max-width not largeur max, please check my previous answer with the exact code.

Hi, is the v1.x version of the theme compatible with any PHP8 version? I am trying to figure out if its easier to upgrade to v2 of the theme or make the v1 version compatible with php8 (if its not already).

Hi.

I am not really sure to be honest, I don’t think I ever tried it with PHP 8. You should be able to switch back and forth via your hosting provider panel to test it out.

Lubos

Hi, can I use any of your themes for multiple locations, UK and international, on one platform

Hi,

what exactly do you mean by one platform? You will need a separate regular license for each domain.

Lubos

One domain, multiple countries, locations

I am sorry but that is not really enough info for me to give you an answer, and I don’t really want to give you a bad advice, but all themes on Envato / ThemeForest are under the same license, so I recommend you to read through the licensing description to learn if your use case is in align with that, as that is not really a theme-specific topic: https://themeforest.net/licenses/standard

Hello!

I’ve set up the theme and child theme on WP Local. I have a problem with the documents showing on the Page I’m creating. To make docs visible I use LSVR Document Attachment Widget and I give every doc a tag (same or different, depends). All docs are visible on the WP admin and on the Production site, except few of them. I don’t see them in the WP (block is visible, tag too), but I see them on production site. Checked the tags twice, all good there. What could be a problem?

Screenshot: https://ibb.co/yL8WWdW

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

I am sorry but I don’t understand, you don’t see them on your local installation but see them on the production?

Lubos

Yes, that’s right Lubos. I create a folder, and in the folder I create (insert) document by LSVR Documents Attachement Widget using right tag, on local installation. But I don’t see documents (their links) on local, but when I refresh page on production, everything is there.

I continued to create other docs in other main folders, and they appear while I’m adding them. Is it because I use subfolders maybe?

Maybe some sort of caching? Have you tried it without the tags if it does any difference? What exactly do you mean by “local” and “production”? By local you mean like localhost on your own PC and by production site like yoursite.com?

Hi Team,

We originally installed TownPress several years ago for one of our clients, but unfortunately, they didn’t keep up with the update plan and have only now reached out for support.

Their current setup is still running version 1.0.1 (Child Theme), which is quite outdated We’re now looking to update to the latest version of the theme and would appreciate your guidance. • Is there a recommended upgrade path that won’t break the existing content or layout? • The old version was still using WPBakery Page Builder – is that going to be an issue during the update?

Any advice or precautions you can share would be greatly appreciated before we move forward.

Thanks in advance! Best regards,

Krisztian from ThemePunch

Hi,

unfortunately, updating to the latest version (or any version after 2.0 release) is not possible without breaking parts of the site. However, there are some ways how to partially migrate content to the latest version. You can for example use some sort of post type switcher plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-type-switcher/) which can convert old post types to new ones, I mean stuff like events or documents. But it will convert only titles, content and maybe taxonomies, but meta stuff like event dates or document attachments won’t be converted and have to be aded manually as their logic is completely different compared to 1.x.

As for the shortcodes, while the WP Bakery is still supported, old theme shortcodes are not, so pages which are using them have to be redone, ideally via block editor (unless the customer really needs the WP Bakery stuff).

2.0 was basically a rework from the scratch (that was when Envato tightened up their WP code standards, if you remember), at the time there really was not an option to maintain the backward compatibility for me, so I had to either do such a radical rework or remove the theme.

Make sure to check out the documentation, it may come handy: http://docs.lsvr.sk/townpress.wp/

Hi!

I’ve just purchased your theme but I’m having some difficulty setting the homepage to show the right hand menu.

When customising widgets I get the following text: Your theme has 3 other widget areas, but this particular page does not display them. You can navigate to other pages on your site while using the Customizer to view and edit the widgets displayed on those pages.

Then the only widgets available are Default Left Sidebar and Footer Widgets.

For the Homepage Settings I’m using “Your Latest Posts”.

Is it possible to do this without editing the theme files?

Thanks so much!

I’m now just trying to do this with a static front page and the LSVR Latest Posts widget but I notice that the shortcode square bracket style from the documentation doesn’t seem to work anymore as it’s changed to:

<!- wp:lsvr-townpress-toolkit/posts /->

How can the shortcode be customised now as it shows in the docs:

TownPress Posts This shortcode displays standard (blog) posts.

[lsvr_townpress_posts title=”Latest News” icon=”icon-reading” category=”123” limit=”8” featured_limit=”1” more_label=”More News” id=”my_unique_id”]

The above no longer seems to work. Thanks!

Hi,

it seems like you are following the outdated documentation, please check out this one instead: http://docs.lsvr.sk/townpress.wp/#front-page

Lubos

I have a site where we feature events on the right sidebar. This works fine, but when you click on more events, only the date & time are showing for the event. We do not use an image for the event, but have seen other sites where a title shows up. How do I add a title for the event so it is obvious what the event is?

Hi,

I am sorry but you will need to contact me using an account with which you bought the theme to get support.

Lubos

Hello. Why are the images in the blog post archive cropped? Shouldn’t images be like – https://preview.themeforest.net/item/townpress-municipality-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/11490395 instead of the first image at https://preview.lsvr.sk/townpress/category/culture/

Also, how many categories can your directory have, and are there subdirectory options for a site that will have several categories? I am concerned if it will work.

Thank you.

Hi,

cropping is a design choice:)

There is no limit for categories. There is no support for subcategories at least not in the sense whey will meaningfully display above the map like in the demo. it would look horrible. But you can always create a custom menu with list of categories and put it into a sidebar.

Lubos

Okay, but If one gets the theme would I be able change the cropping “design choice” to allow for the image to fully show? on the list of posts and is there a standard image dimension in the single post?

I may have to get an external directory in place of your option.

Yes, there is an option to disable cropping for those images. Your images should be ideally at least 1024px wide.

I have two “Notices” showing on the left-side backend admin Menu, which is confusing.

I think this may be caused by having two similar plugins called: LSVR Toolkit (TownPress) Version 1.1.9 and LSVR TownPress Theme Toolkit Version 1.6.1

Should one of the two “Toolkits” not be there?

If I deactivate the Version 1.1.9 I get weird brackets showing like [lsvr_content_box]

If I deactivate the Version 1.6.1 then the main menu disappears.

Hi,

you should use just LSVR TownPress Toolkit 1.6.1. The other one is for the very old version of the theme, unfortunately it will cause some shortcodes or part of the site not function property. But at least for the menu, you just need to set its location correctly under Appearance / Menus to make it appear again, please check out this tutorial. http://docs.lsvr.sk/townpress.wp/#menus

If you’ve updated from the 1.x version only recently, then please make sure to read through the whole documentation. Important thing is that also your events/documents will disappear when you deactivate the old plugin and you will have to add them again. Or use plugin like this to switch old post type to new one (you will have to do it before you deactivate the old plugin): https://sk.wordpress.org/plugins/post-type-switcher/

I did not like the theme at all and it does not work properly. I request a refund.

I did not like the theme at all and it does not work properly. I request a refund.

Hi,

what do you mean it does not work properly? Have you followed the documentation? http://docs.lsvr.sk/townpress.wp/

Lubos

Hi, is there any way to import events in the event module or directories in the directory module? Via CSV file or something like that? If not, is it planned?

THX in advance Chris

Hi,

unfortunately there is no dedicated event import except the default WordPress import. You can take a look into the full package / demo data and you will find events.xml file with demo events, so maybe you can use that for your own events.

Lubos

Thx for your quick reply and the tip Lubos! The work around you described could work for me!

Hello – working on building a site.

For LSVR Alert Message blocks, i cant seem to edit the “lorem ipsum” default text that is within those blocks via the default wordpress page editor.

Is there a trick to making this work?

Thank you!

Hi,

you just click on it and edit the appropriate field in the right sidebar (make sure you are on the Block tab). Feel free to share the screenshot of your editor, maybe there is something off.

Lubos

Hi,

Thank you for your amazing theme.

I just want to know how i can hide things in mobile version, like menus, specially header image.

Hi,

that would require some custom CSS, this one will hide header image:

@media ( max-width: 480px ) {
.header-background { display: none; }
}

Just put it under Appearance / Customize / Additional CSS

Lubos

thank you

Hello,

I’d like to create custom roles, for users to access only certain options in the backend. Is there a list of the IDs, which are needed to create custom permissions?

Hi,

you mean options under Appearance / Customize? You will have to dig into the code to get those IDs. Take a look into /inc/customizer-config.php file for some of them. You will find more in the respective subfolder, for example for event pages look into /inc/lsvr-events/custmize-config.php etc. However I have no experience with limiting them by permission so I can’t really help you further with that.

Hello! We are getting the following error message. And our website is now blank (nothing shows, just white screen). https://www.linnvalleyks.com/ Is there an easy fix for this? Thank you! Larry lakleeman@hotmail.com / larry@citycode.com

Never mind. I think I found a fix.

Hi,

glad to hear that!

Missing import demo from theme menu

Hi,

have you followed the documentation? http://docs.lsvr.sk/townpress.wp/#demo-import

Lubos

Dear TownPress support manager,

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Antonio, and I am currently working as an IT engineer in charge of updating the website for a local municipality.

I came across your TownPress theme and found it to be an excellent fit for our needs. Before proceeding, I would like to clarify whether I can legally and freely modify and use the theme for this purpose. Of course, I want to ensure that I comply with all license terms and any necessary conditions you may have.

Could you kindly confirm if this is possible? I would greatly appreciate your guidance on this matter. Thank you in advance for your time and help!

Additionally, I would appreciate your advice on how to add a header title site-wide through the WordPress customizer, rather than updating it page by page. Is there a recommended method within the theme settings?

Thank you very much for your time and assistance—I look forward to your response!

Best regards, Antonio

Hi,

“I would like to clarify whether I can legally and freely modify and use the theme for this purpose” – I am sorry but I do not understand what kind of purpose do you mean? Are you asking if you can use this theme for a municipality? If so, then the answer is of course yes.

As for the site wide title, I am afraid you will have to edit the code for that. You can for example copy the header.php file to your child theme and put your custom HTML code there. Then add the relevant CSS under Appearance / Customize / Additional CSS.
