How to Add Custom Menu Items in WordPress

To add custom items such as external links, custom pages, or non-clickable menu labels to your WordPress navigation menu, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Menus Section - Log in to your WordPress dashboard. - Navigate to Appearance > Menus. - If you have multiple menus, select the one you want to edit from the dropdown and click Select.

2. Add Custom Links - On the left side, click Custom Links to expand the panel. - Fill in the following fields: – URL – Enter the full URL (e.g., `https://example.com`). For non-clickable items, you can use `#`. – Link Text – This is the label that will appear in the menu. - Click Add to Menu. - You can now drag and drop the item to change its position.

3. Save the Menu After making your changes, don’t forget to click Save Menu.

Development Website:

1. Go to Dashboard > Mow > Theme Options > Import/Export, then click Export Options > Export File to download your theme settings.

2. Edit your homepage using Elementor, save it as a template, and export the template file.

Live Website:

1. Create a new page and configure the Page Options to match those on your development site. Publish the page, then edit it with Elementor.

2. Click Add Template > Import, upload the exported template file (from step 2 above), insert it, and save the page.

3. Go to Theme Options > Import/Export and import the theme settings using the exported file (from step 1 above).

To ensure each news item appears only once on the homepage and to prioritize content at the top:

1. Use Post Offset & Post ID Filtering in each Elementor Posts widget:

---- For the first/top section, show your featured or latest post (Post Number: 1, Offset: 0).

---- In the next widget, increase the Post Offset (e.g., Offset: 1) to skip already shown posts.

---- Continue this pattern (Offset: 2, 3, etc.) for each block to avoid duplicates.

2. Or Use Post IDs:

---- In each section, use the Include/Exclude Post ID option under "Post Parameters" to manually manage which posts appear where.

This method gives you full control and ensures unique posts in each section of the homepage.

To remove the redirect text, you can make a small adjustment in the theme files. Here’s how you can do it:

Locate the File: In your WordPress installation, navigate to the theme folder and open the file mow -> page-redirect.php. You can access this file via your hosting file manager (e.g., through cPanel or FTP) or by using a code editor plugin in WordPress. Find the Text: Once you’ve opened the file, go to line 45. You’ll see the redirect text there. Edit or Remove: You can either modify the text to something else or remove it entirely by deleting that line. Be sure to save the file after making your changes.
