hi lm facing error installing the theme it keeps on saying the theme has expired what could be the problem
Hi. Today later, the new update 4.9.1 will be available for download. Please, try to install it.
Hi Pagick,
I’m experiencing an issue with Fluent Forms on my site while using the Datebook theme/plugin. When I click the submit button on a form, it doesn’t submit correctly instead, it displays what looks like the site homepage underneath the form.
After some testing, I found that the form submits properly only when the Datebook plugin is deactivated.
Hi. Can I check it on your site? Can you take screenshots?
Alright, which email should I send it to with login details.
Please here info@pagickthemes.com
Hi, I’ve sent it.
You can also install Fluent Forms in any datebook installation you have, put the form on the frontend and fill the form.
I just did a fresh datebook installation on a new domain and noticed the same thing is happening, when you try to submit the form.
This is the form page https://wordpress.org/plugins/fluentform/
Kindly look into this, I need a quick fix, alot hinges on the form use.
Thanks
Hello, Have you looked into the fluentforms compatibility issue?
Hi Pagick,
I can see in my admin panel (frontside) that I have some descriptions to review but when clicking on it, it will just reload the site but not show me what i need to review. I alsoi see some coliumns at the bottom thats describes the status (delete, reviewed etc) but I can’t see what I need to review.
I randomly checked some profiles and saw that there are actually some descriptions wiating for review/aproval.
Hi LeonGeb. Yes, the description has not been completed yet in the moderation. It will be done in the next updates.
hi pagick, thanks for the headsup. until its updated, is there another way to determine which profiles are requesting changes?
Hi Pagick,
I did the following: I activated the new theme from the Envato plugin and when the url “upgrade date book” was still not available, i used the link you provided which leads me to the theme data installation site (pages, countries, demo) when I go to that site it does show me “theme has been upgraded” (without me doing anything) but when looking at the frontend, it shows still settings I have already changed. Even after clicking on “install” for “required data” it does not change anything.
Please can you add a clear and accurate step-by-step to your documentation for the ones that are using your page pre-wordpress update?
I think a lot of people will benefit of it.
Thank you for your considiration.
quick update: i cloned my production site again and had another attempt: after activiating the 4.9 theme, i deactivated all plugins including the 4.8 datebook plugin. doing this, shows the URL mentioned (“upgrade theme”) but when clicking on it, it shows me the “theme has been upgrade” note but the frontend wont load. i “installed” the pages and activated also the wpbakery plugin. its still showing me a blank page (even after clearing cache)
Hi LeonGeb. Do the following:
1) Check if the home page exists and selected here: WordPress -> Settings -> Reading.
2) Check if all pages exists and selected here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Pages.
3) Check all settings and save them here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard.
I am afraid you have to re-save the theme settings again. If you see the blank page, then perhaps the settings did not move correctly to the new plugin settings.
Could you save your settings again?
Yes. This is shame of me. For us, it was like creating a new theme. In most cases, the upgrade must run smoothly. But I see the current settings may be lost. I am so sorry if the settings have been lost. In the future, I will add a new function to back up the settings.
with the update today, are these steps still worth trying or should i wait for the update?
Hi Pagick, I updated to 4.9.1 and tried all the above suggestions. The pages display, but not the changes I made (style sheets, text changes, logo etc.). You can compare my website by simply adding “staging” as a subdomain.
I haven’t tested anything further, and I fear that I may need to take the site online to implement the changes. My page is regularly visited, and I am reluctant to just reclone it back to Production.
Hi Pagick.
1) So, before I go to the trouble of making changes by copying and pasting things, are you telling me that the customizations I made ONLY in the Child theme (as I have always done for other websites in the past) will be lost if I update to version 4.9.0?
2) Will I be able to keep the child theme working after this update or not?
3) Will the theme be multilingual as always or not?
I ask you to be as clear and transparent as possible so that I can understand well.
Thanks
Hi RaCLD. If you did not install the update 4.9.0, then please, wait for the next update 4.9.1. After that, the upgrade will run smoothly, nothing will be lost. The theme will be multilingual. But you will have to copy all your code from the child theme to the new child theme.
Hi,
as you didn’t answered about me about explain clearly how to update, i tried, and i never get ” “Data Upgrade Required”” message, and after update, i lost all my settings one more time
i was thinking that you fixed this issue once for all
Hi. After installing a new theme, there must be a message on the screen “Data Upgrade Required”. You should click on it. After that, everything must work correctly. All the settings must be saved, not lost.
If you do not see the message, then load this link. Replace “yoursite” with your domain:
https://yoursite/wp-admin/admin.php?page=datebook-options-install&upgrade-theme=yesyes, but as i told you: each time i do it, i lost all my settings (text at homepage), even if i save just before: this issue was nerver fixed in fact
If you did not use the link above and If you did not install the update 4.9.0, then please, wait for the next update 4.9.1. After that, the upgrade will run smoothly, nothing will be lost. The theme will be multilingual. But you will have to copy all your code from the child theme to the new child theme.
Hi, I updated the theme, but I still have a problem – the system doesn’t send emails when the user receives a notification. The other email functions are OK – emails during the registration process, and the forgotten password email works perfectly. WordPress 6.8.1. PHP version 8.2 No caching

Hi Pagick, I did everything you advised me – please see the screenshot: https://prnt.sc/vYQ4mm9Xs0By Unfortunately, it wasn’t solve the problem.
I’ve sent you an email with login details for my site, I’ve managed to setup the PayPal through WooCommerce but there is issues with the payment updating the customers subscription.
The parent order updates the customers subscription correctly, but when the renewal order payment comes through this does not register with the theme and the subscription changes to expired instead of active even though the payment has been made
Yes, I received the login details. Thank you. Soon I will start checking it.
Thanks, there is 1 account with a live subscription so that you can see the issue
Under the “Orders” section it is showing that the payment has been made, but under the “Plans” section it is showing that the subscription expired so there is an obvious conflict somewhere
Ok. I am already started working on the recurring payment. Soon it will be solved. Thank you again
Brilliant, Thank You. Do you still require the admin access to my site?
Yes sure
Hi, I haven’t updated the theme for a long time, today I did it, loaded countries again, etc., saved the settings and it turns out the settings have disappeared, do I need to restore everything again? Or how can I make it so that everything is configured as on the previous version of the site
Hi. Yes, the theme is now a new theme. It has important modification due to WordPress 6.8.
After the installing a new theme, there must be a message on the screen “Data Upgrade Required”. You should click on it. After that, everything must correctly. All the settings must be saved, not lost.
If you do not see the message, then load this link. Replace “yoursite” with your domain:
https://yoursite/wp-admin/admin.php?page=datebook-options-install&upgrade-theme=yesThat’s right, there was such a message, I updated and now I’m restoring all the settings again
Hello Pagick, It is possible to add new tab (deactivated for users) on Profile where is (All , Published , Trash)?
Thx for help!
Good day dwujcik. Yes, possible. There will be profiles that users deactivated manually in their accounts, right?
I will try to add them in the next update. Thank you. By the way, thank you for your highest rating.
Yes ☺️, btw thank you for all updating.
Hi Pagick,
I’m experiencing an issue with the new theme update. When installed and following your instructions, the theme basically installs as a fresh copy (you mentioned a “date update required” link in one of your replies – but I dont s ee it, I see only “activate”) so all the text changes and settings I have done are gone. Right now, I can’t even test anything because all my page setups are messed up. Can you advise on how to update the theme and keep all my settings and changes? My site is LIVE and working, but I am trying to fix other issues (like the one I posted previously) and I want to make sure this is not because of the old theme.
Hi LeonGeb. Yes, the theme is now a new theme. It has important modification due to WordPress 6.8.
Yes, there must be a message on the screen “Data Upgrade Required”. You should click on it. Strange why you do not see it.
Solution: Try to load this link. Replace “yoursite” with your domain:
https://yoursite/wp-admin/admin.php?page=datebook-options-install&upgrade-theme=yesHi Pagick,
It seems like when setting a plan or a general all gender to get subscriptions for free, the price does not change, and although my card is not charged users might be confused why the amount is still showing and will be reluctant to press on “place order”. When I use the coupon, it behaves correctly by applying the actual amount. I havent tested this for some time but I am think before, the price for free gender was removed and you just needed to activate it.
Hi LeonGeb. I just checked plans free for genders on our side. It is ok, it works correctly. Here are screenshots.
Demo 1: https://ibb.co/gZRwG40y
Demo 2 (with WooCommerce): https://ibb.co/RfNhnRk
If you enable “free for gender” right in the subscription settings here, then Subscription page (with all plans and prices) must not be displayed at all.
Perhaps, you site displays cached pages. Some cache plugins like WP Fastest Cache create aggressive cache that does not update until you clear cache manually.
thanks, it seems like it was the caching but to clear it i actually had to go to the dev tool and remove cookies there as well.
Hi Pagick, Yes your images look like what I am seeing but my problem is when you click on “select” i am directed to the cart with the actual pricing. Although my card is not charged (or i dont even have to put in payment information) its confusing for the user. Also when i look into my WC orders, it shows also the full amount which is again a disaster for Accounting and revenue reports.
I have updated to the most recent version.
Hi LeonGeb. Ok I read what you are describing, but I can not imagine what and how it looks like. Could you take screenshots please? It would help me better and faster understand. Thank you
https://ibb.co/MkMz1jK8 > shows confirmation
https://ibb.co/21SqTYK8 > shows full price also in order
I see that all 3 screenshots show that the payment 17.99 was made successfully. Everything looks correct.
I do not see a screenshot wit Activate this for free.
Hi Pagick,
The problem is not that the payments are not going through. Again, the order is completed but the prices are showing the full price eventhough its for free.
the screen before you go to the cart is exactly the same as in your images, but please here is a screen from my site: https://ibb.co/1tb5C38G
Also just a comparison, when I use a 100% coupon it shows the correct 0.- amount. So why isnt it doing that when the subscription is free anyway? its just confusing for users and people keep clogging the support queue about this.
https://ibb.co/nMdtbKy5Hi. Ok now I see. Give me some time to check this issue on my side please. Tomorrow I will be able to answer. Thank you for the screenshots much.
Hi Pagick, is there a fix for this any time soon? Otherwise I have to fix this with an hired dev.
Dear Pagick, I see that the option to moderate photos before they go public is still not available in the new update. I’m really just waiting for this feature to launch my website.
Your script is perfect, but I believe photo moderation is necessary for every dating website. I kindly ask you—please add this update. Thank you so much!
Yes I see. The photo moderation will be added in the next update. Thank you dear alexalex2023.
bonjour, j’ai installé mon thème via wordpress et je ne retrouve pas la meme demo que celle que j’ai achété comment faire pour avoir deja la demo faire des modifications à travers cette demo. merci
Good day. Do you mean this demo 1 https://demo1.pagickthemes.com/ ?
Or this demo 2 https://demo2.pagickthemes.com/
It seems, that the new version is not compatible with elementor. There is an error with “the_content”-Function. Any solution?
You should create your own pages in Elementor. After that, use these shorycodes in your pages: WordPress -> DateBook -> Shortcodes.
After that, select this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Page Builder -> Profile page -> select “Third-party page builder”.
The DateBook pages cannot be edited in any page builder. Those pages are specific.
Hi I tired installing the new update today, and it installs as a new theme and the doesnt work i just get a solid colour screen, the datebook plugin also installed as a new plug in, i removed the new version and installed the plugin manually and that updated the plugin, but the theme i cannot get to update.
What am i missing or is there an issue
After you installed the theme, you should see the message on the screen “Date Upgrade required”. Click on the message to start upgrading. That’s it.
Hi Pagick.
For those who have problems with translations, and for those who use the child theme and have all the customizations in it (impossible to copy them elsewhere because it would take only one day of work if that’s enough), do you recommend updating Datebook to the latest version?
I was thinking of using an alternative translation plugin honestly since the to doesn’t work anymore.
Hi RaCLD. We would not make the modifications in the theme, but we had to. WordPress 6.8+ now strictly checks text domains. As you know, the DateBook theme and the DateBook plugin have the same text domain “datebook”. This causes conflict in WordPress.
Answer: Yes, upgrade to the latest theme 4.9.0. In the future, you will be able to use all new functions and do not need to make changes in the code.
As I know, if you use a child theme, then you add your code into this one file: wp-content\themes\datebook-child\functions.php
Actually, this file is almost empty. You should just copy your code from ONE file of the old child theme and paste it into a new child theme. That’s it. It must be easy task. May be, I do not know something.
Fortunately, such big changes are very rare.
After update theme, there is 2 themes on dashboard: datebook and datebook-theme: why you rename it?
Yes, correct. You should delete the old themes “DateBook” and “DateBook Child Theme”.
After WordPress 6.8 update, we have to make modifications in the theme too.
if i delete the Child too, i lost all my modifications, and need to copy all of them, waste time. why you didn’t keep the same name? WP 6.8 or before, it’s not disturb with the name of theme, i don’t understand. so, i deleted the old theme, rename the new one with the same name of the previous, and keep my Child and the same for plugin, and it works, and i think it’s ok, right? because i still not understand why you changed the name, was not mandatory
Do not delete your code in the child theme. Perhaps, later we can find the better solution. Continue using the old theme version.
The translation did not work correctly. That’s why we had to change the name of the theme.
mmmm, it’s not clear yet and translations worked normally with old version, i don’t understand so, what need to do concretly? because it’s not clear all this
so? not other solution that delete old et rename?
You can continue using the theme version 4.8.9. But the translation will not be working correctly.
Solutions, select one of them:
1) Continue with the theme 4.8.9 and WordPress 6.7+. In this case, the translation in the theme will be working correctly. You do not need to copy/move your code into another child theme.
2) Continue with the theme 4.8.9 and WordPress 6.8+. In this case, the translation will NOT be working correctly. Also, you do not need to copy your code into a new child theme.
3) Install the theme 4.9.0 and WordPress 6.8+. In this case, the translation will be working correctly. But you need to copy your code into a new child theme.
i have already WP updated 6.8.1. what you mean by copy code into a new child theme? and for next updates will be the same, or more easy? if more easy, so i will wait the next
We would not make the modifications in the theme, but we had to. WordPress 6.8+ now strictly checks text domains. As you know, the DateBook theme and the DateBook plugin have the same text domain “datebook”. This causes conflict in WordPress.
So, it is better to install the latest theme 4.9.0. In the future, you will be able to use all new functions and do not need to make changes in the code.
i mean, what was a bit strange is about rename theme… can you repeat so? i need to delete the old theme and add the new one? and rename it as old? about child it’s ok.
It’s not just renaming the theme folder. Almost all the codes in the theme files and folders should have the same name “datebook-theme”. So just renaming the folder, or files, or whatever won’t solve the problem.
Yes, install new themes (parent and child) and delete (or leave for a while) old themes.
For you. You can try to use the old theme and rename it. Experiment as you wish. Maybe everything will work correctly. But for us, WordPress and ThemeForest require to develop the theme according to their standard and rules.
sorry but still not clear: you say to rename folder theme, but after you say need to do not only this, without say what need to do exactly for everything work normally with the last release. sorry to ask you, but i didn’t find in your doc how to upload this new release. thanks
i think it will be faster and more clear for all your users, that you explain once for all, and normally in your DOC too, how to update correctly your theme, with details, and no lost any customizations or settings. we are waiting. thanks
This update happens only once, very rare. For the upgrade, the theme displays the message “Date Upgrade Required”. Just click on it, and all changes will be applied. That’s it.
You do not need to read any docs. Just click on the Upgrade button, and the theme will do the rest!
But if you make some modifications in the child theme, then you must know all your codes and how to apply them in the new theme.
Actually, the theme functions and files have NOT changed. Only the theme folder name has changed.
so, one more time: how to install it? after as i remember (i restored a backup already) i have 2 themes with 2 different name, and plugins too maybe: just this i want to know: how to do clearly for not lost settings and keep translations (i dont have any modifications in child as i remember)
My site is in german. Everything seems configurated right, but the site is still in english. I don´t want to publish my site here. Please get in contact with me!!!!!!
This is not the theme. After the WordPress released the update 6.8+, the translation stopped working correctly. The DateBook 4.8.9 also works correctly. It is ok.
Solution: rollback to the WordPress 6.7+.
What?? That can not be. I have soooo many Plugins and so on and only yours has this error….and that is a wordpress fault??? No way…..so we can never Update Wordpress, when using your stuff????
This is not the theme error. WordPress 6.8+ has made modifications in its code.
It is all ok. The update with translation fix will be available very soon.
Hi Pagick, the theme does not send emails to users when they receive a new message. Sending emails in other circumstances, such as new user registration or forgotten password requests, works fine. Unfortunately, users do not receive an email when someone leaves them a message. The problem appears after the last update. Can you please help with this?
Hi nicky12. I will check it today. Please, give me some time. I will be back soon. Thank you.
