The theme has broken down AGAIN! It gives an error during registration, chat, subscription plans do not work – users can send messages, despite the restrictions!

Thank you for the screenshot. Ok, I see. As I said, in the last update we have corrected period of time. We removed minutes in subscription plans. Plans cannot have the period of time in minutes. It is useless and cannot be applied for payments.

As a temporary solution, select the months in this field in subscription plans: WordPress -> DateBook -> Subscription plans -> open a plan for editing -> select months in this field “Period of time for limited chat”.

This issue and the chat limit will be fixed today and tomorrow. The update will be available very soon.

Yes. I know. This error occurred due to wrong periods. In the last update, we removed minutes and periods changed their order numbers. We had to do such changes for PayPal. PayPal does not accept minutes.

In the next update, this issue will be fixed. The chat limit will be also fixed. Thank you for telling us about these issues.

I’m having an issue with the “Forgot Password” functionality on my website.

When a user clicks the “Forgot Password” link and submits their email address, they receive three separate password reset emails at once, each containing a different reset link.

However, only the last link (the most recent one sent) actually works. The first two links return an error saying:

“The key you have entered does not exist.”

What’s the cause of this and how can I make the reset password link to only be sent once.

Hi wconline360. This is strange, looks like some JavaScript or redirection is executed. I guess you use some third party plugins.

Try to deactivate all plugins and check again.

Yes, the theme is compatible with Loco. You can translate the theme with Loco or Poedit.

Yes. The pot file is included in the theme.

But the theme has not been translated into Brazilian Portuguese yet.

Yes. The DateBook theme supports WooCommerce. You can install WooCommerce, install your favorite payment gateway plugin and accept payments.

No. The DateBook theme does not support any other subscription and membership plugins. It is useless to buy them. DateBook has its own subscription and membership functions.

DateBook has many useful functions. So it is not necessary to buy any other plugins.

Yes. Antispam is available as captcha in the login and registration fomrs. Google reCaptcha had been integrated in the theme.

Bonjour M.pagick, J’ai un problème je n’arrive pas à installer le bouton se connecter avec Google pourtant j’ai installé n’entend login social et tout à été bien configuré. Mais le bouton n’apparaît pas sur la page se connecter. Regarding the PayPal and WooCommerce. Since you installed WooCommerce, then the DateBook theme cannot control any payment gateway. So, I do not know how to setup third-party plugins. But when you click on the Select button on the Subscription page, and after that you see “Page not found”, then try to re-save the permalinks here WordPress -> Settings -> Permalinks. Also, perhaps, you setup pages incorrectly.

Especially, follow the step 8!

Just as a temporary solution, disable this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Profile -> User must complete his profile before using the website.

Hi Pagick, I’m currently using DateBook version 4.8.7. When I update to DateBook-Theme 4.9.2, both versions appear under WordPress > Appearance.

I read that you changed the theme’s name from DateBoook to DateBook-Theme. Could you please provide instructions on how to update from version 4.8.7 to 4.9.2 without losing the theme settings?

Unfortunately, I haven’t found a way to back up the theme settings in order to restore them after the update. Also, the translations no longer work correctly after the update.

One more question: When will it be possible to include the classified ads (number, approval, etc.) directly in the subscription?

Hi Miguel. Yes, 2 themes. You should delete an old one. Delete these themes: “DateBook” and “DateBook Child”.

These new themes have the version 4.9.2: “DateBook Theme” and “DateBook Theme Child”. Do not delete them.

Also, it is easy to understand which you should delete. Delete the themes that have old versions 4.9.1 and older.

Also, delete the old plugin. The new plugin has the version 4.9.2.

How to upgrade:

After you installed and activated a new theme, there must appear the message on the screen “Data Upgrade Required”. Yes, click on this message to start the upgrading process. That’s it. No other actions are required.

Notice: I cannot guarantee that your settings will be saved. Sometimes, WordPress, MySQL database and hosting may work improperly.

I recommend remembering your settings.

Classified ads will be added in subscription. But I cannot say when. At the moment we have to fix planned bugs.

Regarding the translation. The new theme has a new text domain. It means that you have to re-save your translation in Loco or any other way.

Hi again. Ok I checked your site. It works. The notification about new message is sent. It is ok.

But why you do not receive the notification. Because you activated the cache plugin. It caches and loads all pages as static and does not allow the theme to run its functions. Your site becomes static. None of functions run. Therefore, the content does not update This is bad for dating site.

But ok. Here is a trick. Do the following:

Done! Now, this page will run all functions on your website every minute. Thus, the theme functions will be run too. This is good.

The design and style were depreciated long time ago. Now there is only one dashboard for all settings WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard.

I purchased your theme with the expectation of receiving the support included in the license. However, I’m extremely disappointed to see that my questions posted three days ago remain unanswered, while newer posts from other users are already being addressed. This lack of response is preventing me from launching my website, and I find the situation quite frustrating.

In addition to the lack of support, I am encountering several technical issues:

Profile Completion Bug: When a user creates an account and tries to post a classified ad, the system insists the profile is incomplete—even though all fields are filled out. This issue persists and blocks further actions. I specifically want to enforce profile completion before allowing certain actions, but the current behavior is preventing users from progressing at all.

Email Notifications Not Working: While some email notifications are being sent (e.g. registration or system alerts), no emails are received for new messages between users. This is a critical functionality that must work properly.

Given that I am not the only one experiencing these delays and issues, I would like to know:

Is there a reliable way to reach support and get timely answers?

Are these bugs known, and if so, is there a fix or update available?

I hope to receive a proper response soon, as these issues are directly affecting the usability and release of my site.

Oh, really I just forgot to answer your previous question. I apologize for this. I will respond in few minutes. We just received a lot of messages last days. Some of our customers asked too many big questions. It took time to sort out and respond to them. I apologize again.

Hi. I just checked your website. No problem. I have successfully registered my profile.

1) User cannot post a classified ad because his profile was not completed or approved fully. You set this option that requires approval of a new description: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Profile -> Suspend a profile after a user edited it.

2) Regarding New messages. Actually, it works. Notification about New message is sent only once. I will explain how it works:

  • Notification “New message” does not send if a user is still online.
  • Notification is not sent within this period of time (See this option WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Chat and Messages -> Add additional time after user logged out before sending notification), even if a user logged out. After this period, the notificaiton must be sent.
  • Notification is sent when someone visits your site. If your site is idle, then no notification sent. Because the hidden theme function does not execute.

Also, do some additional steps:

Re-save the Gender field here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Custom Fields -> open the Gender field for editing -> Save.

I have done all the following steps for the classified ads but it is still not working and asking to complete the profile.

First of all, thank you for your detailed reply — it was very helpful. I’m now preparing a clean migration from the old datebook-child to your new datebook-theme-child structure.

Since theme settings are saved in wp_options, and you mentioned that they are stored in a key like datebook_theme_child, I would like to confirm a few things to make this transition smooth and fast — and hopefully helpful for other users too.

1. What is the exact option name used in the old child theme? For example, does it use datebook_theme_child or a different key like datebook_theme_child_489, datebook_options_child, or similar?

2. Is the structure of that option_value the same between old and new themes? If yes, I can safely run a SQL query to copy the values.

3. Do you use any other keys in wp_options, wp_postmeta, or wp_termmeta related to theme settings or widgets that are affected by the theme name?

4. About translations (very important):

5. Which folder should contain the native .mo and .po files for translations? wp-content/languages/themes/ or inside the theme (/languages/)?

6. What is the recommended filename format for additional manual translations? (e.g. for Italian: datebook-theme-it_IT.mo?)

7. If I use a custom translation file for Italian (with Loco Translate), where should I place it so it is not overwritten and works correctly?

8. If I succeed in the migration, will you keep these settings also in future updates for the theme and plugins (but above all to make the child theme work)?

1. An old child theme has the option name “datebook_child”.

2. Yes, the save options are the same. The value is the same. Only the key has different names.

3. No other meta or widget options that changed their names or related to the options.

4. I didn’t understand what about transportation.

5. The language files can be found in this folders: wp-content/themes/datebook-theme/languages

and wp-content/plugins/datebook/languages.

6. In the theme folder: it_IT.mo

In the plugin folder: datebook_it_IT.mo

7. The best folder for your translation: wp-content/languages
