I hope you are doing well.

I purchased the Martfury – WooCommerce Marketplace WordPress Theme some time ago and recently started using it for a new website project. However, I am currently facing serious issues that are causing the entire website to go down.

Whenever I install or activate the theme and its required demo importer plugin, the website begins to show 502 Bad Gateway errors, and the site becomes completely inaccessible. In some cases, even trying to access the WordPress admin panel or installing plugins leads to the same 502 error.

Because of this issue, I had to completely delete the website and perform a clean installation of WordPress again. My hosting provider also checked the problem and confirmed that the errors appear to be triggered by the theme or the demo importer plugin, possibly due to heavy server usage or a plugin conflict.

Additionally, when I checked the demo importer plugin, the official page seemed suspicious and redirected to what looked like a spam page. This made me concerned about the safety and reliability of the plugin included with the theme.

At the moment, I am hesitant to reinstall the theme because I am worried the same issue may happen again and bring down my website.

Could you please clarify the following:

1. Is the Martfury theme still actively maintained and safe to use? 2. Has there been any known issue with the demo importer plugin causing server errors or 502 problems? 3. Is there an updated or recommended way to install the theme and demo content safely? 4. Are there specific server requirements or configurations needed to prevent these errors?

I would really appreciate your guidance because I do like the design and features of the theme, but at the moment I am quite worried about using it again due to the problems experienced.

If the issue can be resolved, I would be happy to continue using Martfury for my project. Otherwise, please advise whether there is an updated version or alternative solution.

I received the following notice from my hosting provider:

Recently, an unusually high number of binlog entries have been generated. This typically happens when frequent data-modification statements (DELETE, UPDATE, INSERT) are executed. If these statements are triggered too often in a short period of time, the volume of binlogs can exceed the system’s allowed limits. As a result, MySQL may temporarily lock the database to prevent potential data corruption.

This is now the third time this has happened to my database, so it appears to be a recurring issue. Could you please investigate whether the theme might be triggering excessive database queries?

For your information, I am using the latest version of the Martrury theme, and all other plugins are also up to date.

I have finally identified the cause of the excessive server resource usage, and it is coming from the theme. The theme is exposing hundreds of dynamic URLs to crawlers, which is triggering massive crawling — especially by Applebot, which is indexing endless combinations of parameters (product_brand=, ?orderby=, filters, etc.). The store has very low traffic, so this level of resource consumption was clearly abnormal.

You need to review the theme’s code and control the generation of dynamic routes to prevent bots from discovering and crawling thousands of URL variations that end up saturating the site.

The only temporary solution I found was blocking Apple’s IP range (17.0.0.0/8). After doing that, CPU usage dropped from 100% to 0%, and all PHP processes returned to normal. Everything is stable now.

I purchased your theme a while back and love it. We are now working on the last steps before we go public with our site but I had a question. The site is a multi vendor market place, but I wanted to know if there was a way for vendors to buy packages or subscriptions that allow them to post some many items for each package. Example:

Package 1: List 10 products Cost $50 per month

Package 2: List 50 products Cost $100 per month
