Hi, can you provide guidance on how to perform a full demo import so it includes images? I’ve done the import but I’m still seeing a lot of grey and placeholders.
Thanks!
Hi,
I am sorry but images are not included with the demo for copyright reasons. It is mentioned in the item description.

Hello,
We have Townpress on a WordPress with PhP updated upgraded form 8.0 to Php 8.3. Since then the plugins give error.
Is Php 8.3 already supported ?
https://www.scharendijke.nuRegards George
Fixed it. No help needed. But a clear fix for php 8.3 is welcome.
Hi,
can you please specify the error? I am using PHP 8.4.1 locally and I am not aware of any errors.
Lubos
Hi, after updating to the latest version of your theme and running WordPress on PHP 8.3, I am unable to save posts in the “Documents” (lsvr_document) post type using the block editor, as it returns “Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.” The REST API is working correctly, but no wp-json save request is triggered, only admin-ajax (heartbeat), which suggests the editor breaks before saving. In the console, I see a warning that the block “lsvr-directory/listing-list-widget” is using deprecated API version 1, which is not compatible with the current Gutenberg iframe editor. Using the Classic Editor works, so this seems to be a compatibility issue with outdated blocks. Could you please update the blocks to apiVersion 3 and ensure compatibility with the latest WordPress editor?
Hi,
which WP version are you using? I am not able to replicate this on my end using WP 6.9, PHP 8.4.1. I’ve created a new document post and added LSVR Directory Widget block into the content and it saved and displayed without any issues.
Lubos
Hi, I’m using WP version 6.9.4 (runing TownPress Child theme), on 8.3 PHP. When I’m in New Document, I don’t see created categories like before. When I add an attachment & try to save it, message shows up “Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.”. So I can create a new documents, but without an attachment. Document widget is useless then, but I need them for large bulks/maps.
I am not able to replicate this one either. I am able to create a new document post, create new categories in it and add attachments without any errors. Here are some thing you can try:
1.) Resave your permalinks settings under Settings / Permalinks
2.) Deactivate all non-LSVR plugins and test it like that
3.) Try a fresh installation (for example on your local PC)
Also, you purchased this theme several months ago, did this worked before?
I tried 1st step already, but I’ll try it again. Also, I’ll try 2nd step just to be sure. Everything worked perfect, until I made an update of the theme. No additional plugins, nothing that could colide with the LSVR Documents plugin. I’ll leave a note after testing it, thanks.
Hi Lubos! Just to inform you, it’s all good now. I saved Permalinks (like before), but now categories appeared while creating the document. That was the sign it’s all good. Tested & created a new doc. Thanks again, for your unselfish help!
Glad to hear!
i just purchased my theme and siteground is saying its missing the stylesheet
Hi,
you probably uploaded a wrong archive, please make sure you are following the documentation:

Hello, just noticed recently that on the events widget, reoccurring events are not disappearing after the event date. I have monthly events and it is still showing the past two events. Is this a bug? www.surfsideiii.org you can see this in the footer it is showing Dec 13th 2025.
Hi,
you set the start to December 13, 2025 and end date to December 11, 2026. The start/end are referring to a single occurrence (the first one) so I assume the single occurrence is not supposed to last one year. Change the end to 2025 and it should regenerate correctly.

Hi there! All maps suddenly show that google can’t load the map correctly. It asks me if I own this website. How can I fix this? thanks!
You commented and said get a new API as this was set up before I have sone this and it still has a popup screen that says do you own this website. I set up a new api in google console under the domain for this website. Still can’t get this error removed.
Any other suggestions?
Hi,
have you added a new API key under Appearance / Customize / Map Settings?

Just wondering if there is a way to make the search box visible on the menu homepage without expanding the menu?
So closed-menu then the search box is visible.
Hi,
I assume you mean on mobile, since on desktop it is always visible. That would unfortunately require some custom coding to pull off.

Hello,
Is your theme compatible with wordpress 6.9? Thank you
Hi,
I am not aware of any compatibility issues, let me know if you encounter something.

Another query.
On the top News item on your demo site, the image seems to show the top slice of the image. Then on the news page, it shows the bottom slice – then on the news item, it shows the whole image.
My question is how to change the homepage so that it uses the same image slice as the news page?
[I suppose ideally it shows the middle, but on mine the top can be sky, so the bottom slice would be better]
Hi,
please check options under Appearance / Customize / Standard Posts. There are settings to enable thumb cropping. There are also similar options for specific page blocks when you edit them in block editor.

Hi Lubos, The google map doesn’t appear on the Contact page but all other maps work fine. Is there anything extra to do to get this working? Thanks Phil
Hi,
try to remove it and insert it again, it is a basic embed code you can get directly from Google Maps.
Lubos
Thanks. Sorted
Hi Lubos,
Thank you for all your help so far.
In the Directory section, is it possible to use Tags in the search bar? So, for example, I have a business, and the description mentions gift, but I have added ‘Gifts’ as a Tag. How can I use the search to find this entry using ‘gifts’ as the search term?
Hi,
that is unfortunately not possible without some additional modification. Search is using a default WordPress search engine which is not using tags, but I am sure you can find somewhere either some sort of a code snippet or a 3rd party plugin which will add this functionality, I can’t point you to anything specific unfortunately.
Lubos
No worries. I found a free plugin ( WP Extended Search ) that seems to work very well.
Hi, Just purchased. First quick question:
Where do I set the default location for the Map for the Homepage ?
Thanks.
Also where do I set this CSS you gave me?
.post-archive-categories__list { column-count: 4; }
Found the answer to the header map.
Can’t see a way to search documentation – trying to find how you make a listing featured?
Sorry, I can’t see in the documentation how you edit the Choose Your Interest section on the frontpage?
Sorry, I also need a bit more details on Languages as eventually I want English and Welsh. I have setup files en_EN.po & .mo but they are not appearing as being selected at the top of the Frontpage. Also how to a change the language options to just EN (English) and Welsh? Thanks.
Hi,
if you need to run two or more language versions at once, you will need som sort of 3rd party plugin for that, like WPML. Or alternatively you can run separate site for each language via WordPress multisite installation and link them via language switched in the header.
List of displayed Languages can be managed under Appearance / Customize / Languages, but again, that is just a static menu, having the site to actually support multiple languages you will need either a plugin or multisite installation.
As for the “Choose Your Interest” section, please check out the Quick Overview section in the documentation http://docs.lsvr.sk/townpress.wp/#quick-overview
As for the custom CSS, you can add it under Appearance / Customize / Additional CSS
“Can’t see a way to search documentation” – just use CTRL + F in your browser
You can’t set the listing as featured, but you can use Featured Listing widget to select a listing which will be displayed there.

Hello! Quick technical question. I want to upgrade from version 1.6 to the latest version. My PHP isn’t up to date.
When I update the theme, nothing works anymore.
Is it possible that the latest theme doesn’t work with older PHP versions?
Hi,
latest versions of the theme are not compatible with the old, 1.x versions. So if everything is broken visually after the update, this incompatibility will probably be the main case, not the PHP. However, I no longer test new version with old versions of PHP, only with PHP 8, so there is some possibility the new version of the theme may not work correctly with older PHP versions as well. So updating from the old version of the theme, with old version of PHP won’t go without issues. I recommend to install the theme on a fresh WP installation, with PHP 8 and then export your exiting content, however specific content like events or documents can’t be fully migrated this way as their format changed since 1.x, these will have to be added manually.
There are many comments about about the theme versions incompatibility on tis forum, so I highly suggest search older comments for that topic (search for 2.x or 3.x keyword for example).

Sorry, one more question
The Events section says it gives the precise location of events. I’m just wondering if the events are linked to maps (can’t see this in your demo) and also whether you can link to Directory entries, which would be preferable.
Hi,
yes, event locations can be linked to directory listings so the location data will be pulled from there.
Not sure what you mean by “wondering if the events are linked to maps (can’t see this in your demo” – when you open a location, you can see its location on the map, for example: https://preview.lsvr.sk/townpress/events/jazz-night/
Lubos
Thanks. That’s great. I was clicking the event location rather than scrolling down.
Can the Directory Menu become a drop-down menu on mobile devices?
Hi,
by directory menu you mean categories above the map? If so the answer is no. Feel free to check out the demo link on your phone to see how it looks: https://preview.lsvr.sk/townpress/directory/Lubos
ok thanks… this is putting me off purchasing as I think it could be a bit of a mess as the directory would be an important segment of my site with quite a few categories. Is it easy to amend the list code to be maybe in columns, which would hopefully format better?
That is ideal, would you share your changes?
One other quick question: What are the numbers that appear on the directory? They seem to be grouped entries? Are they always just numbers, or can they have names if they are a groups of entries from categories?
Sure, it is just this CSS:
.post-archive-categories__list { column-count: 4; }
You mean numbers in the map? Those are just grouped entries, it is a Google Maps functionality. It appears when there are many listings too close on the map in the current zoom level, this can’t be changed.
Thank you for your quick and helpful responses
Hi there! All maps suddenly show that google can’t load the map correctly. It asks me if I own this website. How can I fix this? thanks!
Hi,
have you set your Google Maps API correctly under Appearance / Customize / Map Settings? If yes then try to generate a new one.

I am concerned and need some assistance before moving forward. In the description it says “The Elementor plugin and WPBakery Page Builder are supported as well (importable demo data are for the WordPress block editor only).”
Does this mean that I can’t import the demo content and then go though page by page with Elementor or WPBakery and replace the content that is currently in there? Will I have to completely redo the website? The goal is to not have to redo the entire site and only replace the text and pictures that is there now with my own. I want the site to look the same otherwise. Please advise.
Thanks!
Hi,
demo data can be only edited via built-in block editor (Gutenberg). However, this applies only to standard pages like home page(s) or contact form. All post type (event, document, listing, etc.) archives and detail pages are auto generated. So even if you want to use Elementor or WPBakery, you don’t have to redo the entire site, just a homepage and/or contact page.

Lubos,
Thank you for your reply. I have everything installed and followed the guide. The thing I can’t figure out right now is when I set the header image it does not move the home page content down to accommodate the image like it is on the demo site. How do I create that buffer space in between the header and the home page content?
Thanks!
Please share your URL so I can see it.
Your forum section does not have login and registration fields. No way to test it and how will real site users even login?
https://imgur.com/bTpgGx8Hi,
forum is created via BBPress plugin, so you can test it on any free theme and it should work the same. https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress/
Lubos
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, you missed the point.
When I visited – https://preview.themeforest.net/item/townpress-municipality-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/11490395 – please check it and you will see that it is not obvious that there’s a login field beside the username and password each. There is border on the fields so someone will not where to enter their details.
Do you understand now? Why is it so – Is this an issue with the theme or its background?
Right, that is a problem with the theme styling, I can give you a simple CSS which will make those fields more contrast.
I’m just letting you know so that people don’t complain about it. Thank you.
Hello, Thank you for your theme, which is really great—congratulations! The only issue I have is that I don’t see the full-width option in the page or block editor. I looked in the templates folder and there are only the templates not boxed, not-boxed-without-title, and boxed-without-title. Does the theme allow you to create full-width pages and blocks? Thanks in advance.
Hi,
unfortunately, this theme does not have full-width template, as it was built around an idea that there always should be at least one sidebar.
You can try to copy “themes/townpress/page-templates/not-boxed.php” file to your child theme under “page-templates” folder. Rename it to something like “not-boxed-fullwidth.php”, open it and also change its name on the first line of the code to something recognizable and choose this template for a desired page. Then add this to your CSS:
.page-template-not-boxed-fullwidth #core .lsvr-container { max-width: 100% }
But again, the theme was not designed for full width layouts, so I can’t guarantee this will look good.
Lubos
Hello, Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, after doing all that and adding the CSS, the new not boxed fullwidth page template appears in the template list but has no effect on the pages. I tried with a new page and an existing page, but nothing changed. Thank you anyway.
Please share the URL to a page which is set to this new template so I can take a look.
You have this CSS:
.page-template-not-boxed-fullwidth #core .lsvr-container { largeur max : 100% }
it should be max-width not largeur max, please check my previous answer with the exact code.
Hi, is the v1.x version of the theme compatible with any PHP8 version? I am trying to figure out if its easier to upgrade to v2 of the theme or make the v1 version compatible with php8 (if its not already).
Hi.
I am not really sure to be honest, I don’t think I ever tried it with PHP 8. You should be able to switch back and forth via your hosting provider panel to test it out.
